I bet I'm not the only one really excited about the official announcement of the title and cast. We highly likely know most of the cast already, but title speculations are still going on.

What are you hoping for? I have always wanted them to use the title: Property of a Lady.

PS: There'll be a live stream on 007.com.

Hoyte van Hoytema has already been confirmed as the cinematographer and that's all I need to know.

Still hyped though

Ugh another Daniel Craig Bond? No thanks. Please move onto someone else.

Casino Royale:

Worldwide: $599,045,960

95% RT score

Skyfall:

Worldwide: $1,108,561,013

92% RT score

Not a fucking chance are they getting rid of him. He's signed for the next two films. He's an amazing Bond and even his weakest film (Quantum of Solace) is still leagues better than shit like The Man With the Golden Gun and Diamonds are Forever. Sorry, you're gonna have to wait it out.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
So Lea Seydoux is the girl and Christoph Waltz is Blofeld, right?

Hopefully the 'Bond Girl' isn't a disposable plot tool this time.

The Craig films have generally had one fodder girl and one with a more important role. Vesper/Solange in CR, Camille/Fields in QoS, and I suppose Moneypenny/Severine in Skyfall.

You know this doesn't mean that people actually care about Craig, but more about Bond's reach and popularity in fast-growing emerging markets?

I added the RT scores. And Daniel Craig is widely considered to be one of the best Bond actors of all time, many equalling him with Connery.

Couldn't agree more. He is a great Bond. Hyped to see what they come up with now.

It means that people are perfectly happy with Craig as James Bond.

Those people have shit opinions

Over 2 billion at the box office states otherwise. In fact, the people who don't like Craig as Bond are the odd ones out.

Craig has had not only higher critical praise, but also higher box office takings and cinema turnout than Brosnan did at the same point in his Bond career (the start of Die Another Day's production). There's no arguing that point. You may not like him - doesn't make your opinion the accepted or correct one.

So Craig is signed on for this one and the next? I'm ok with that.

So what are the odds Adele does the theme again?

They are going to hold on to Craig as long as possible. This isn't like Brosnan where they were happy to get rid of him.

To note only one Bond actor has been fired from the role, and that was Brosnan. All previous actors walked away from it themselves. The studio wanted Lazenby back for Diamonds Are Forever. Moore quit after View to a Kill (after threatening to quit for the last few movies). Studio wanted Dalton for GoldenEye. Brosnan on the other hand wanted to do a 5th Bond but the studio didn't want him back.

M is really the 'Bond girl' of Skyfall, which is just another nice tweak the Craig films make on the usual slushy formula.

And why is that? Daniel Craig is almost objectively the best actor working with the best scripts playing the most complex, interesting Bond out of any thus far.

I agree, but don't forget about Dalton! He was ahead of his time with his fleming-accurate portrayal of Bond.

Casino Royale and Skyfall are two of my favorite Bond films ever. Quantum of Solace is one of my least favorites though. Craig's movies have been hit and miss, but mostly hits. Looking forward to this one.

Well, you have the option to not go see it.

I think Craig is a terrific Bond, and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Wasn't it rumoured that Sam Smith would do this one? I think they'll go with him.

lol the Craig defense force is strong ITT

Craig is ok, much better than I expected, but his style/physique is very atypical for Bond.

Craig looks better than most Bonds because he is given above average scripts for Bond movies. Had Brosnan been provided with similar material in his time, he would have knocked it out of the park.

Craig is already 46 so odds are that Bond 25 will be his last. Think they'll try to give the role to someone younger (and potentially cheaper).

The saddest what-if? of Bond I think is if Dalton didn't back out of GoldenEye. What a movie that would have been. It was actually written for him, not Brosnan. You can tell in that the tone for it is dramatically different and more serious than the 3 Brosnan movies actually written for Brosnan.

Not for the Bond he's potraying. Every Bond actor has had a different look/style/physique. So you could say that about any one of them. The difference here is that his look and physique are directly reflective of the story they're trying to tell, so it's just about perfect. You might not like the story they're telling, but he is perfect for it. And that's really all you can ask for - a performance working for the story currently in play.

He's supposed to be a ruthless, steely, blunt instrument - rough around the edges and vulnerable. Handsome but with an air of danger and hostility. Tell me his look/style/physique doesn't work in perfect harmony with the above description.

i've been to see all of his films at the cinema. Skyfall was good but i didn't like CR or QOS. Just because i don't like the actor, doesn't mean i won't go see the films ;)

Also, i didn't say my opinion was correct or the accepted one. I was merely saying that i disagree that Craig is a good Bond.

Skyrise

(Goddamn it, I'm far too excited about this even if most of the details bar the title are probably already known.)

Casino Royale was fantastic.

Quantum of Solace is up there with the worst Bond movies.

Skyfall was boring as fuck and none of the action scenes had any energy.

Craig is a good Bond, but good lord, he has aged so fucking terribly.

Currygan

at last, for christ's sake
Skyfall was one of the top three Bonds, so a sequel of some sort would make me extremely happy. And Waltz as villain is practically a guarantee of awesomeness. EXCITED

Those are very weak excuses for Skyfall, considering Moneypenny had such an awful arc, M was killed off and has always been a sentral part of Bond films anyway, and the fact that just because a character is female doesn't make them the Bond counterpart.

It is so weird that my parents, who are the biggest Bond fans, utterly loathe Craig. And yet they love Connery and Moore.

It must have something to do with their age I suppose.

I know that I am in a minority here, but for some reason I prefer Casino Royale with Craig to Skyfall. Skyfall is an amazing movie, but the pacing and travel in Casino is so much more likeable. The travel bits in Quantum of Solace were abysmally bad. Might as well been called the Bond Teleporter.
