Really hoping this is a return to CR/QS form as far as storytelling and tone is concerned and not the reactionary nostalgia trip that was Skyfall (gorgeously filmed though it was).

The end of Skyfall seemed to set up a movement towards a 'classic Bond' feel, which i'm really excited about.

Obviously, I don't purely want it to go back to a Connery/Moore formula - but plenty of knowing similarities between that style would be really cool. (I mean, despite my fondness for the classic era of Bond films, i'm aware that they are largely totally awful and have huge issues, so it is a difficult thing to request.).

I think Craig deserves a classic, fun film. Casino Royale was the intro, QoS was a mess, then Skyfall felt almost like another intro film, setting up a lot of things. (I REALLY like both CR and Skyfall).

I just want to see a bit more fun - a big bad with a henchman.

We seem to be past the "villain wants to be caught" era in big Hollywood films, so I'm very curious to see what they've cooked up this time around for the villain.

It'll be funny if they keep it as "BOND 24" and it's actually a crossover with Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer working alongside bond

lol

Great. Now I'm going to be really disappointed when they don't announce this.

heh. but really, this is my wishlist for Bond 24:

  • Gunbarrel at the start. Stop fucking around with it. The gunbarrel tells the audiences immediately "wake the fuck UP - IT'S BOND TIME!"
  • David Arnold to return to score the soundtrack - he was getting really good. Newman was terrible.
  • Daniel Kleinman to do the title sequence again
  • James Bond theme to play in full during an action scene. It's been too long - 12 years since that last occured in a Bond film.
  • Better pacing than Skyfall
  • A villain who actually has a legitimate, decent plan and who is an actual threat to Bond. Blofeld would be nice.

BOND 24 title?

BOND: 24

The bad guy is JACK BAUER!!

LONG LIVE KIEFER

Craig Bond VS Bauer

- Both faked their deaths
- Both military trained
- Both proficient in weapons and hand to hand combat
- Both withstood strong torture
- Both came back from death. Bond had his heart stop after poisoning, Bauer was declared medically dead twice and survived both times.

It's a good match. I think Bauer would win though. Hes fucking insane.

Don't know if this is where should post, but rumored that Andrew Scott (From Sherlock) will be the film's villain?

I really hope it's like the older light-hearted style of bond films. The ending of Skyfall totally set it up that way. If it just ends up being in the same style of the other recent ones (which it probably will do) I'd be disappointed.

but they cast christoph waltz didn't they?

If Waltz is Blofeld, he'll be recurring, so he won't die. Batista is supposed to be an "iconic" henchmen type character who could also be recurring. If so, maybe Scott is playing the central villain of this particular story, the one who gets killed at the end.

I'm all for Scott in Bond 24. His portrayal of Moriarty in Sherlock is brilliant. He could be a really sarcastic, psychotic, intellectual villian who really pushes Bond to the limit. Am hype.

There's like a 99% chance they won't, but I hope they resolve, or at least start to resolve Quantum.

I remember the rumour a few years ago of Rachel Weisz playing the leader.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much

I think the rumours about Waltz said that his Blofeld would not start out as the main villain, he would be introduced under an alias.

HAH! it makes me sad to think this is not true. :(

Jack is the best.

You summed it up perfectly - let's hope this all is true

A henchman? Doubt it. He walks alone.

Blofeld's son?..despite the denials, I'm pretty certain this will be a two part story with a final Bond/Blofeld showdown in Bond 25, Craig's last.

I really like Scott on Sherlock but I feel like casting both him and Waltz as villains for the same movie is kinda redundant.

Not if Waltz is Blofeld and is the big bad in Craig's final film, Bond 25. Hes rumoured to be Blofeld - and you need a build up to that.

Scott would be just like Largo was in Thunderball.

Quantum really needs to be sloved. That's been what's bugging me, unless they say Blofeld was leading Quantum.

Other than that, all I ask is gun barrel intro sequence and a good song intro.
