I have seen all of the movies many times and what that did for me was get super impressed at the faithfulness in sound, atmosphere, and look of the original movie.

When someone asks some advice about something they don't know on the Internet, some people find hilarious to give the worst possible "advice". Like "what is the best way to clean a CD", "use sandpaper".
Anyway, you just need to watch the first film because it's a masterpiece and the game could spoil it.
After that, if you feel like it, you can watch Aliens (I don't like it at all because it makes little sense after the first and spoils the concept, but it's a good dumb action movie), Alien 3 and Prometheus (they're good/interesting but flawed), and don't bother about Alien 4 which is idiotic/a spoof.
LOL ... or not? Honestly, i can`t detect if some of these posts are serious or not.

No. Start with AvP Requim but forget about any of the Predator movies if you haven't seen them OP. Then watch the first AvP after Alien 3.

I like Prometheus, but it's flawed, and could spoil Alien a LOT. It's also clearly made to be viewed after Alien.

You don't need to watch them really if you don't wanna. Game is excellent on its own and the story stands up perfeclty without needing to know the events of the first movie.

Regardless of playing the game, you should definitely watch the films anyway. And the game will be more rewarding if you're familiar with the two films.

Aliens is more of an action movie from James Cameron. Basically someone said "instead of one alien, what if there were a whole bunch of aliens fighting against a whole bunch of space marines armed to the teeth?"
Both awesome and worth watching, but Alien is far superior IMO. Everything about it is incredible. Amazing art design by H.R. Giger, great sense of atmosphere, a truly compelling plot with some great twists, kickass protagonist. Just a classic all around and still holds up today. Watch it and you will understand why people were so excited that Isolation replicated the feel of Alien.

I'd say it's pretty damn important if you are remotely interested in the story. You will gain a huge amount of understanding from them and appreciate the audio and visual more.

Oh and please do the correct thing by watching Alien 1 & 2 only. The rest you can watch after and only if you feel like it.

Watch Alien ,then play the game ,then watch Aliens , then YouTube the the story of Colonial Maarines then watch Alien 3 . 3 gets a bad rap it's not as good as the for at 2 by a long shot but I thought it was still very good ..

Agreed. Watch them on a large screen with a good sound system.
They are two of the best sci fi movies of all time. The game is a mere shadow, but may detract from the experience of watching them for the first time.
