Lowest point for the show that one.
"mission failed: Restart/Quit" *points at Restart* *BLAM*
ugh, it was like out of some cheap cop procedural show.

Maybe the gun Walt buys in the flashforward is actually a giant light gun for Jesse. That's why he needed a manual, so he'd know how to plug it into his xbox.

Walt making dumb decisions because he's so arrogant and over his head, even moreso in this episode.

Why would you want 4 more people (the Vamonos Pest guys) to know that you are doing some shady business? And the obvious fact that you need to pay each of these guys to shut the hell up, and that money's gotta be pretty good and even then, they could still screw them over and leak information about what they are doing. And there will always be some stupid residential guy who wants to go back into his house even after he signed that contract...and once this guy sees what's going on inside, bam, that's the end of it.

Terrible, terrible idea Walt. I just don't get it.

At least fund them for a while until you can think of a way to take them out.
But that would probably get the police to look into it further. A bunch of Fring's ex-guys wind up dead all at once. They'll probably figure someone else is in charge and start looking again.

Another small spoiler:
Bill Burr mentioned on his podcast this week that he'd be on BB this week. So Skylar might be looking for help from Saul again.

I've been thinking about the cold opening and what he is going to do with the gun and why.

Jesse may find out what Walt did, but I don't think they'd get in a gun fight.

The only thing that makes sense to me is saving Jesse on a suicide mission after losing his family for an anti-hero ending.

Yeah there is no subtlety with that gun whatsoever. My mind went back to that gun this past episode when Mile mentioned it being like Custer's Last Stand if the police found that garage. I don't think even Walt, with all his bravado, is dumb enough to try and stand-off with the DEA. I think that gun has to be because he needs it to defend himself or because it's the only way he can think to intimidate someone.

I'm on my phone so I hope that makes sense.

Sorry I know I'm late but what did Walt mean with his last line about Victor getting too close to the Sun and getting his throat cut? it's prob been answered many times already but the thread is enormous

My take on it is that:

I think it applies to Mike and Jesse equally and is certainly more chilling when it's about the latter. With regards to it applying to Jesse, Walter could be insinuating that Jesse does not deserve to make the decision to tell his secrets to anybody, that he avoided "flying too close to the sun" by breaking up with Andrea as Walter had tried to manipulate him into doing so. It, more or less, was the polar opposite of what Walter had said while in the soon to be fumugated house, that it was Jesse's choice and that he earned it. The implication of course is that Jesse had taken liberties by becoming involved with somebody else, especially when Walter doesn't want Brock around Jesse. As for how it relates to Mike, well, that much is pretty obvious. I liked how ambiguous it was as it relates to both of the main characters pretty equally.

While trying to relate it to Mike it is also important to keep in mind that Walter is trying to prepare Jesse for the possibility of killing Mike. Jesse's reaction to the threat works either way, whether it refers to Mike or Jesse.

In addition to this it also relates to Todd (even though Walter almost certainly did not have him in mind stating it) in that Todd was told by Mike not to speak to Walter or Jesse but as they were entering he broke that rule and took the liberty to inform them that the nanny camera had been disabled.

That gun with that much ammo, to me, means there is a huge showdown coming or a large group is after him. Maybe the cops, maybe people connected in some way to Gus or the cartel, maybe people who want a piece of his business. I don't think that's going to be for a single person so we are due for Walt to piss off lots of people.

Finally finished Season 4. A satisfying conclusion, especially with Two-Face Gus, stepping out of Hector's room. hehe.

I'll be watching Season 5 as it airs now but have they resolved the plot about Walter poisoning Brock? I figure if Jesse ever found out that the show would be over. And after this season I really noticed how much I miss Jesse and Walt's adventures. I really didn't like them being separated or pitted against each other all the time.

So feel free to spoil whats happened so far in this season. I already tried to Wiki what I missed but there isn't much out there.

Walt and Jesse are friendly so far, but as usual with this show, I doubt it'll last long.

Nope, Brock's fine and Jesse is none the wiser. Of course, that doesn't mean that it won't come back to haunt Walter when he least needs it. Enjoy the show, season 5 has been great so far imo.

Why can't you watch the episodes from this season? If you don't have cable and/or access to on demand, pay $6 and watch them on Amazon Instant Video. They've all been excellent so far — it's worth it.

has there been any rumors or convincing speculation on exactly why Walt left Gretchen and Gray Matter Technologies?

I get the feeling that cooking meth isn't Walt's first illegal activity. I wonder if he did something while with Gray Matter that forced Elliott to kick Walt out. Or maybe vice-versa, where Elliot did something illegal or unethical that caused Walt to sever ties.

I would be flat out amazed if they don't address that somehow. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't some big flashback, ala Battlestar Galactica, that explains what happened.

Just caught up ep 3 off the dvr. So badass.
Walt amazes me, he already seems to be hinting offing Mike. What's more, does he really think Victor was killed because he tried to cook the recipe? He doesn't even consider that Vic became a potential liability and that was unacceptable. The last thing Mike is would be a liability.

Almost that time of the week again...

I think it's him going back to save jessie, possibly from the dea.

"Are we in danger?! We ARE the danger!"

Also, we need more "A Day in the Life of Wendy". Shes fascinating. "Oh, you're the guy that wanted me to do that football player!"

lol

I don't think I've met anyone that actually likes Skyler, anyone in here actually like her?

I don't like her more or less than any other character.

But I do think she's pretty much exactly what someone married to Walt would be like and does everything that might be expected of someone married to him.

I do.
I think a lot of people tend to side with Walt, also because the show follows him as the protagonist, so they feel like thay have to identify with the guy, having seen his arc in greater detail, compared to other characters.
Same reason why a lot of people (this was in another forum though, a bit different on Gaf from what i see) sided with Walt when Hank had him "trapped" in the RV.

Skylar....she's gone crazy. Marie is annoying, but she didn't deserve that, haha.

Well all of the other sites they looked at wouldn't have been much different. Still would have had a bunch of people who would notice some suspicious activity and that would need hush money. Just like the operation Gus was running with superlab under the laundry cleaner where most of it's employees would have known there was some shady business going on.

What do you think would have been a better idea?

If Walt does engage in all out war of some sort, I'd like to see a moment when he runs out of ammo and is cornered and on the verge of death, but then, as a last ditch effort, busts out the mercury fulminate to buy himself some extra time.
