It takes a while to get going. The strength of S5 is the characters, not the stories. Without a doubt the best cast of the whole show. Even the supporting characters I thought were great. Eve is so god damn cute

GOD DAMN WESLEY
SHOOTING HIS DAD WITHOUT HESITATION. Cold blooded

Favorite moment of any tv series ever. I said it in another thread, but it was the first and only time tv has made me cry out and cover my mouth in shock.

Knowing what happens later that season, how can you say *only*?!

Stuff that happened later made me cry, sure, but not do that. During that scene, I literally jumped out of my seat, screamed or something, and covered my mouth with both hands. I couldn't BELIEVE that had happened, and it was fucking amazing.

Hmmmm, Cordelia in season 5 is so beautiful, god damn. I couldn't handle myself.

And stop with the
Fred and Wesley teasing, either make them stop having these miniscule "almost" romantic encounters or have them fuck already, c'mon Joss.

I agree with a lot of that list, except I don't think S7 is THAT bad, and The Body and The Gift shoud be numbers 1 and 2.

Can someone please tell me from which episodes of Buffy are these two screencaptures from the Season 7 title credits??

I'm halfway through Season 7 and I don't recall these two scenes in any episode that I've watched in any previous season. I wonder if I accidentally skipped an episode or two? It drives me crazy!

I don't have the exact names right now, but the first is from a Halloween Special ("All the Way") and the second one is from where they show her wedding day. (Help from my awesome fiancee.)

Figured I would also post some of the Buffy gifs I have made:

Those screencaps look like they are from Season 6. Specifically episodes 6 (All the Way) and episode 16 (Hell's Bells).

UHHHH.
CRASH BANDICOOT 2 WAS NEVER ON THE XBOX, THE ONLY WAY THIS IS POSSIBLE IS IF SPIKE ACTUALLY HAD A MODDED XBOX IN 2004 WITH A PSX EMULATOR. AND AT THAT POINT, THE PSX EMULATORS FOR THE XBOX IN 2004 DID NOT RUN THAT SMOOTHLY, LOL WTF IS HAPPENING

Spike's a nerd.

Wolfram and Hart can do anything.

Pick a side!

Biggest plot hole in the entire series!

So how did you like the resolution of the Fred and Wesley tease? Hahahaha!!!!!... /cutsself

I always felt Angel never quite achieved true greatness, like it'd be constant approaching being amazing and then take a swerve that hurt it.

S1 was good but only seemed to tease a consistent story line which was frustrating.

S2 was really good but I don't remember anything really sticking out to me, it got better as it went on.

S3 was fantastic until Conner appeared (I really hate children in my TV shows) then slowly got better.

S4 was an abomination of television except seeing Wesley be a total bad ass.

S5 was easily the best season but it was always depressing to watch because I knew that was going to end so none of the crazy developments were going to go anywhere.

Finally finished Buffy! (& the 4th Season of Angel).

The final episode was really disappointing, why is it considered one of the best?

I like endings such as LOST's or BSG's where they spent time after the final battle etc to give a proper goodbye to the characters.

Here it was battle -> what felt like 3 minutes of
"Yay! We won, it's over!"
scenes -> The End.

What the hell?

It was especially weird since both Buffy Season 4 & Angel Season 4 had the type of final episode I expect from a Series finale! Why didn't they use a similar template here again?

Weird and disappointing. :-/

On the other hand the first 2 episodes of Angel Season 5 I watched felt surprisingly fresh.. Loved them and can't wait to see where this Season goes..

That doesn't count!

Also unless I missed it I'm not even sure they clarified whether the Big Bad
is dead or cannot do any harm anymore
or.. anything really!!

Such a weird ending!

And just now I finished Angel as well. Good season. But a weak finale.

The fights were nothing special and the ending is way open ended.

I read that apparently their point was
that Angel's struggle is eternal
but the way it ended
it's not just Angel's struggle we are dealing with here, we are dealing with an entire army of demons being unleashed on the streets of LA. Yeah, yeah, Team Angel will continue fighting, I get that, but what happens to the PEOPLE of LA???? Did Angel just make the world a worse place than it was or what?????

Read the comic "Angel: After the Fall." Buffyverse comics aren't very good but this one is pretty great, and expands a bit on the ending.

Angel ends like that because they got cancelled by idiot executives who thought a "Dark Shadows" pilot was going to make it to air. (It didn't.) They massively regretted the decision as the show pulled good ratings.

I just read that a few weeks ago. Shame

Thanks for the suggestion. I know the plot continues there and it can probably provide some answers, but the point of my post was mostly to criticize the ending (especially since at the time they didn't plan any comic)!

The way it ended is dumb. Their supposed goal,
the fight never ends!
, does not justify this kind of ending.

I didn't like the ending of Buffy too much, but the ending of Angel was absolutely perfect.

The comics, I'm going to chose the comics didn't exist and that
they all just died in that final battle
. To me, the point obviously being that
there'll always be another hero, there'll always be another bad, and there'll just keep fighting the good fight
.

After 7 years of Buffy, and 5 years of Angel, that much should be clear.

But as I said
I am not concerned about the fates of our heroes, I know they are in it until their last breath, what I worry about is... the fate of the world! Surely the demons roaming the streets are not a good sign? But a sign of the Apocalypse?

I can sum up the finale as "they fought the good fight but they made the world a worse place than what it was by unleashing the Apocalypse." :-(

At least Buffy's ending didn't endanger the world, it saved it!

I thought Angel was canceled due to Whedon acted like a super douche and demanded the executives to make a decision that day, thus the executives decided to kill the show?

There have been reports the show would have probably stayed on the air if Whedon didn't make that ultimatum.

It was like the 10th apocalypse we'd been through at that point, I just assume that something stopped it, and it doesn't really matter what, because there'll be another one next year.

At the end of the day, the show was always about the characters and their interactions, to me.
I cried through Wesley's last few moments
.

Another interesting thing was
Lorne's final scene, just walking away because it wasn't his style, their endings all made sense to me, I think
and that made me happy.

I appreciate a show that can get that kind of emotional reaction from me, that's really, really rare.

I can see it from your point of view though.

Tru dat, but
that was supposed to be the "for realz!!" Apocalypse, this time. The one we've been hearing about since Season 1.

I liked the fates of both characters which is the reason I am not complaining at all. I was moved as well by how their scenes played out.

And yeah I can see your PoV as well :-P

So it's tottally okay if I pretend Buffy and Supernatural take place in the same universe right?

Because I do.

It makes everything more fun
