Bungie ends development on Destiny 2

What's the deal with the Destiny mobile game?
Only had a quick blast on release but it actually seemed pretty solid. I used a pad though as i just can't play games with touch screen controls outside of stuff like Balatro. Mobile games just ain't my thing.

Company running it should make a pc version and bring the people home.

If Bungie patched up D2 such that all the story missions could be played offline, I would buy the remaining DLCs that I don't own. Maybe a way to get a cash injection to see them through to wherever they are going.
Really? If found the campaigns to be the least appealing part of Destiny, especially solo. Halo CE it is not.

Destiny fanbase are their own worst enemy. For 10 years with their over reactions they've painted their favourite developer like it's the Hitler of the industry.

Meanwhile they continue to play "the worst thing ever" on a daily basis but they act surprised when new players don't join them. For anyone who didn't already play the series and new how good it was they'd no motivation to give it a try because apparently it'd gone to shit.

I mean for casual andies. Most of them without a natural client off steam won't ever mess with it.

Destiny players are retards.
It works nice as fuck with blustack or mumu, did all the raids but they are more of a bossrush. Its a mobilegame after all and in the end it shows, and now they are in the shitter to.

It was a double edged sword. I would say it was catering more to the no-lifers/streamer crowd more than they should. But that group also gave them more exposure. But that is what I was trying to say earlier, they chased their own assess around and round. I think everyone got a little bit of what they wanted.

But chasing the dreams of the fanbase / streamers/ etc is what got them where they did. Bungie didn't kill Destiny 2 completely, the fanbase had a large part in it. Destiny 2 in its Final Shape 😂 was crafted in some part by everyone. Not just Bungie, we all fucked it up. No one knew what they wanted, there was no grand design, too many hands in the pot.
I actually think you are right and it's what I keep saying to people on the Destiny reddit. Like it or not, we had a hand in it.

Oh yeah, the Destiny Reddit has been a cesspool for years.

What did they call them whenever they would make any type of update (good or bad)…Bungle? Bungo?

OG Vex Mythocast from D1 was super busted was such a fun weapon.

Think we are cooked mate. Enjoy it while we can. Bungie seems excellent at shooting itself in the foot. That blog last week was obviously done to quell any rumours around Marathons future post the D2 news, but its fairly obvious the path we are on. If we make season 4 or 5 it will be a fucking miracle.

Tbh I'd play it if it was free, but I'm in no mood to slide Bungie my money right now lol

When it comes to simple little A to B first person shooter levels, I've got a low bar. I can have fun with just about anything. Destiny had that stuff in spades for me. They just drown it in menus and busy work.

Fair enough, whatever floats your boat.

It is the same team that butchered D2 is is not?

Where do people see the sudden burst of talent, creativity and motivation coming from. A 3 instead of a 2 can't make that much of a difference when everything stays the same at bungie.

Or am I missing something here?

I just think this is reductionist mentality because that could be said for litrelly any game.

Firstly there's a few things one the reason destiny 2 flat lined was because bungies poor management, destiny 2 took a major hit because years back they neutered a ton of the best talent and put it on Marathon so destiny 2 lost priority.

With better leadership if bungie was made to allocate 100% on destiny 3 you're running at full force, everything is all ideas... The idea that d2 is it is just silly because there's litrelly any story that could be told, new worlds a whole new saga, in gaming it can go anywhere.

D3 also would've brought new engine to make a good feeling game feel even that much better, a new game gets people excited again with new loot, new quests, new worlds, new possibilities, maybe they have a new mode that becomes fan favorites like iron banner, or trials etc..

To me, when someone says what exactly can d3 do that hasn't been done in d2, tells me they aren't and weren't invested in destiny. Because in that game the sky was the limit, d3 with a full on bungie is the difference. Destiny hasnt had priority and 100% attention in years and that's why it went on autopilot.

D3 would've absolutely been a hit.

From what ive read these past few days, D3 has never been on the table since sony took over. The layoffs made it basically impossible. Remember how many devs and support studios it took when it was firing on all cylinders? Sony obviously looked at the plan they put forwad and said fuck that.
