Well they know they can get away with it so where is the motivation to change? People are going to buy (and enjoy) Destiny 2 regardless.
Perfect response.Overwatch
Titanfall
Doom
Halo
CoD?
Again, I would have loved to see 60fps / dedicated servers and what not, but the demand is just not big enough for them to justify that investment for this game.
IGN: "RIP the dream. Why?"
*long pause of silence*
Luke Smith: "It's just not an investment that we made for Destiny 2, like the uh... I understand there's certainly a desire for it.
I'm surprised people still go on about Dedicated Servers...
Besides the Battlefield games, what major current FPS's use them?
Pretty pathetic, considering how much money they had to be raking in on overpriced cash shop cosmetics. You would think they would invest in dedi servers to show the pvp dudes who have been keeping D1 alive on twitch some love. Disappointing, but you have to remember Bungie have been saying for years that PvP is casual focused, no matter how much the community begs them to balance otherwise.
You should be happy Bungie even made a game for you lower lifeforms to enjoy.
EXACTLY! Are they evil for doing that? NO, people need to stop trying to shape the game to something it won't ever be. The sooner they understand that, the faster they'll be playing a game tailored to their needs.

Disgusting, a very wealthy company is to cheap for dedicated servers.
get ready for the p2p hack fest :/
WE're gonna like change the, we're going to change a bunch of parameters to focus on giving people a better network experience."
Have you played at all? It's a game based on supers and rng loot drops that enhance your abilities. Look at the hoops "sweaty" pvp players jump through to get the game remotely, somewhat competitive on an equal playing ground. Gear sets banned, sub classes, perks, exotics banned. It's laughable.. You're fighting the devs trying to make the game competitive. Then you can, uh, like, uh, I guess wave good fucking bye to any chance of D2 being remotely competitive.
Guys they can't afford dedicated servers, it's that simple.
The directors need new yachts, new luxury apartments and new cars. There's just not enough room in the budget for servers. Besides, 60fps is already out of the question as the amount of man hours consumed in achieving this is already allocated for private jet flights, golf days and other activities like casino spending money.
Sorry, it cannot be done, what you're asking for is just unrealistic.
Sincerely,
The Devs.
PS - Preorder now!
I am a huge Destiny fan and will of course be playing D2 day 1.
translation "We made a lot of money anyway, so why spend some of it when we are going to make a lot more money anyway...our numbers show that spending money to run dedicated servers will not increase the number of people buying the game"
lol, nice!Guys they can't afford dedicated servers, it's that simple.

I put hundreds of hours into D1, will prob fo the same with D2. But for competitive PvP I'd look elsewhere, or look forward to frustration and disappointment.
Also lol @ redbar superheroes, so true.
Replace devs with publishers and you're spot on.

This is the only part that matters. When will people learn...
Overwatch
Titanfall
Doom
Halo
CoD?
Wait for reviews. Don't buy it at launch.
I don't think you know the definition of disgusting.
So you'll attack any little thing about what 343 do with Halo, and yet defend this.
Huh.
Luke Smith needs to stay behind the scenes and stop giving interviews. He is just terrible at it.

Activision / Blizzard has money to invest in dedicated servers but it has that kind of money because it doesn't invest in dedicated servers.I find it hard to believe Activision / Blizzard doesn't have the money to invest in dedicated servers.

So true. These posters are the actual reason they aren't doing dedicated servers. If a company can spend less money to get your money, why wouldn't they?
