The same way speeding generates revenue in spite of being illegal: you get caught doing it (or possessing it for non-medical purposes), you get fined. Massachusetts passed a law doing exactly that just last year; it's currently in effect.

Not at all.

When I lived in LA it was amazing that I could literally walk into a "clinic" and pick from a list of about 10 different kinds of marijuana ranging from $35 per eighth to $100 per eighth. I could also buy brownies, hash oil, fruit strips, Kool-Aid mix, along with a bunch of other shit. It was literally like living in Amsterdam. It was sooooooo easy to get a medical recommendation it wasn't even funny. They did a special on the radio where this lady went into a medical marijuana "clinic" and said that her feet hurt because she wears high heels and she needs to smoke pot. They gave her a license without even blinking.

And lil smoke, I used to smoke and a good portion of my associates smoke. It's not like I'm not familiar with the perspective. But I still hope that most of them have enough common sense not to profess jealousy of people who have intimate relationships with A PLANT. Even the most wacko, tree hugging, appleseed planting botanist would sound a few brain cells short. You plant the seed, you water it and provide it with light, you take the leaves. Leave the emotions for a significant (human) other.

I do find beauty in things other than humans. I am an artist, so that might have something to do with my consciousness. Actually I think humans are on the low end of the scale.

I think you just need to phrase the question better. It shouldn't be "should we legalize pot" it should be more like "should we legalize pot to stimulate our hurting economy by creating jobs, saving money on prisoners and spreading joy throughout our great land."

Actually, Obama has been fairly vocal about being in favor of decriminalization. This may end up happening at the federal level.

Like has been said before in this thread, by me , CA has already given the Feds a big middle finger with prop 215.
