Thanks for putting words in his mouth for him. I'll await his answer. If I wanted your answer I'd have asked you.

i never thought a call of duty trailer could ever get me excited again... but im guessing the game will hardly take advantage of the story-possibilities.

he can be interested in the premise but not in the typical COD gameplay?

why does everyone suddenly feel the need to defend cod. Have we already gone from cool to like it, to cool to hate it, to cool to love it again?

ffs

yeah guys people who don't like COD are all "pfffftttt this peasant drivel where you shoot and walk to a checkpoint marker!"

some people might just don't like it?

by you inferring that some people just "don't like it" just reinforces the idea i was getting at...gameplay wise AW made some serious shifts, some good, some bad...but referring to CoD games as "it" is judging the book by its cover...dismissing the games simply because they are CoD games...

its insulting to everyone's intelligence (or maybe just displaying a lack of it) to even suggest that a game already 2 years (probably longer than Mankind Divided btw) into development has had its entire story line influenced by a game that was revealed in 2015...

Dues Ex has always been about this stuff though. Not saying they own the idea.

he never said that. The premises are just similar.

not sure I get what you're saying

dismissing a game cause it's a COD game is more than valid. There's very clearly a cod "type" and some people might not like that?

im not gonna be the guy that goes "lol every COD is the same" cause i've played them (not all) and there certainly are changes; but if you don't like what's fundamentally there chances are you're not gonna like the new one

dismissing something cause it's COD considering what the gameplay has been for the last 10 years seems like a totally valid thing to me?

it's like saying someone who doesn't care at all about Human Divided cause they didnt enjoy anything about Human Revolution are judging the game by its cover.. (since we're doing deus ex comparisons, lol) and that's just adjusting expectations from ONE previous game really, whereas with COD you have a ton

If this wasn't Treyarch I wouldn't be so excited.

i always love this comment...as if Treyarch actually did anything to become the CoD "A-Team" other than watch Infinity Ward fall apart...

Dues Ex has always been about this stuff though. Not saying they own the idea.

he never said that. The premises are just similar.

except the tweet specifically references the new game...and lets not pretend the idea of a dystopian society that falls into chaos is even remotely new

So Black Ops III is set in 2065

CoD:AW is 2054..

I hope humans in CoD World got tired of Exo in 2054 and went full Deus Ex in 2065.
usually each studio kinda does their own timeline, don't think the events of AW happened in the treyarch universe

;_; Treyarch is muh G dawg. Seriously, great trailer. A mix of Deus Ex, Ghost in the Shell, District 9 and other things.

The potential for this kind of thing is limitless. Treyarch is the only one of the 3 studios able to go in this direction i think

Remember, Treyarch's Universe is completely different from the other two, so the futures are not the same ones. Although i do wonder if they are going from Black Ops 2 into this one. Cause that premise was basically terminator with someone hacking into the drone program and sending it back at the US. Humans in that world have not learned by now??

duh it references the new game. That is the most recent one and is in everyone's minds. Do you really think Jeff is implying that they took the idea?

If this is just super soldier stuff and not jumppacks again I'll bite. If only for the campaign because SWBF will be my multiplayer game for this year.

It's probably a Sony timed exclusive and won't be available on Xbox One until early next year. Sony's advertising makes me believe that's the case.

Yeah, Activision clearly want to lose all that sweet money.

What is wrong with some people here? Teaser trailer and the first comments are about who is getting the marketing rights... and now this? Whut?

to an extent? yes...not that they stole it, or anything like that but it certainly downplays the originality of Treyarch's ideas and paints them as a copy of Mankind Divided

Doesn't ake sense cause they've been working on this for 3 years...and they were already in the future in black ops 2. I think its an unfair criticism.

Human revolution was in 2011 and so were the re-releases they did in 2012 and so on. So when they were finishing up Black Ops 2 I bet they pulled inspiration from Human revlution since their teaser is similar to Human Revolutions

I think he was just poking fun at the similar premise between the games, especially with this trailer releasing so close to the Mankind Divided one.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel with all the media attention surrounding transhumanism these themes are going to become more prevalent in games. I wonder if cyberpunk will become this generations bald space marine?

When 4 was released, despite coming from PC, th game was so amazing that everybody needed to play it regardless of platform. Unity. Like being the Allies.

*sigh*

Why are people even talking about BLOPS3 and Sony? Did I miss something? Doesn't MS co-market all CoD games with Activision since forever?

Man I wish this series was bigger on PC. I prefer to game on PC since its usually the best platform and I want this game badly, but it will probably have like no population on PC.

:(

I hate to be one of those guys that goes "another COD...." but...

Another COD.

I played Blops 1 and skipped on Blops 2. I feel like Blops 3 is just Advance Warfare just farther in the future. I'd like to see some game play but I can't really see how it could be different then anything they've released before.
