Thats not what I meant. Sony getting it is not a big deal, or shocking. Whoever pays more gets it. Thats what I am trying to say. Just like Assassins last year, Xbox got it cz they paid more. Why is everyone making so much fuzz about this stuff. So there is no blow to the brand or one brand isnt dead if they dont intent to throw as much money as the other brand.

COD has always been associated with XBOX.

It was the premier shooter for a long time

That said, I think MS letting this go speaks more about the state of COD than it does MS. I am imagining MS simply has allocated their budget elsewhere, like Tomb Raider, probably Fallout, and some other titles.

Do you honestly believe they knocked this whole idea and game up since the DE reveal?

Sadly,it appears some people think they did.

for the record; I don't think that.

I do however think these themes were Deus Ex's bread and butter since the beggining and while it's fine that they clearly took some inspiration from it (as did many things since 2000 deus ex), it's unfortunate how similar the premises for these 2 particular games look

The thermal cam thing tells us all we need to know about the "exo-suit" gameplay. Won't be an external suit but instead prosthetic limbs to up the ante even more.
perks becoming canon

It's a brilliant teaser, but I would be surprised if the story ends up conveying any sort of meaningful philosophical message.
it'll be crazy at least

So Black Ops III is set in 2065

CoD:AW is 2054..

I hope humans in CoD World got tired of Exo in 2054 and went full Deus Ex in 2065.
seems like weaponized augs is a secret

So this is set ~40 years after BO2?
David Mason is goons be old

like the concept....im getting a very "Spartan Program" vibe from the idea of the engineered super soldiers..which is cool...

as for the exo's...didnt we hear something awhile back after the initial reveal that we should think more along the line of "Robocop" instead of "Jetpacks" when it comes to the suits in this game?...

i got the impression that with Blops3 we are looking more at enhanced mobility more in line with say Master Chief...bigger, faster, stronger...maybe with directional boosting...but losing the verticality of Advanced Warfare....
i will laugh if this will make you feel like a spartan in more ways then halo ever did

No exos no buy

Love exos

They redefined CoD into better

heh mixed bag for me is it fun yes, however movement has gone up and is way faster. It would have worked better if the maps were a tad bigger because we all know spawing in cod sucks ass and people spawn behind you, that and exo's make you move fast now so its a cluster fuck.

I'm a bit shocked so many people are saying things like "the state of cod" in a negative way, and that CoD has been in a downwards slope for a while.

Sure, technically it has, but it's still selling gangbusters and BLOPS is the highest selling CoD brand they have.

Highly doubt it's NOT going to break sales records. First next-gen BLOPS by the premier, #1 CoD developer?

Yeah. This shit will be MASSIVE. So much so that I'll be suckered into it again despite saying I've been done forever now...

I don't give a shit who has the marketing deal this time, I just want the game. And this crap only fuels fanboy wars, there's no denying that. Being 'offended' by people saying this, I thought I heard it all. Of all things to be offended about. /facepalm

Anyway, this looks great. BO is my favourite CoD, so I'm looking forward to this.

Say what you will about Black Ops but I honestly thought the first campaign was brilliantly done. Didn't played the second one though, but this teaser gave me the same intrigue as that first campaign.

Between AW and Black Ops, at least for the initial tease, CoD as been getting good.

It's a shame we all know they wouldn't take any real risk =(

Feels like its dealing with the same themes as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, but from an anti-trans-humanist perspective. I liked the campaign mode of COD: AW, but I am not sure I want to play through another exo-suit, augmentation sci-fi first person shooter. On top of that, I feel this theme is better explored in a game like Deus Ex, where they have more time for world building and story exposition to explore the themes more thoroughly.

Yeah people talking about the "decline of COD" are gonne be somewhat off, at least with this one imo. Ghosts was simply a bad game, and Advanced Warfare was a new dev on the franchise and was a new setting for the franchise.

BO3 comes from the best COD dev, and is the sequel to the best selling COD ever BO2. COD this year is gonna do crazy numbers I bet.

I think GHOST's is dead on arrival. Pretty sure they are not going to make sequel for that series.

If they do it will be more swat based, tactical.

Eh. A lot of the people that were responsible for Ghosts 1 have moved on. Some of the old IW people are back. At least one naughty dog person is there now. I think the game goes back to the military shooter, rather than the a sci fi/future games.

I am expecting Ghosts 2 rather than MW4 or a new series. As much as people complained about Ghost it was still heavily played into the first half of 2014, and it sold much better than Advanced Warfare (though you could argue that AW sold less BECAUSE of Ghosts)..

To be fair, this particular COD series story line started in the 80's, went into the future, and now 40 years after blops2

Are people really getting excited over a marketing deal?

Ok, back to Bloodborne...

Not excited, surprised that Microsoft missed COD which they talk about every E3 proudly that DLC comes first to Xbox and COD is kind of system seller to sell consoles with bundles as they sell a lot every year.

Do you honestly believe they knocked this whole idea and game up since the DE reveal?

TBF all that was there in DE:HR as well as the future real life augs, it's pretty hard to see how they wouldn't be influenced. I mean this trailer could literally be a trailer for HR, and they used a lot of it's type.

Instead of using EXO stuff and gadget's. I think your going to upgrade parts of your body. Better robotic hands gives you faster gun switch and better hip fire. Strong arms let's use bogger LMG's better.

Want to be super fast, get a biotic leg upgrade.

Be a better sniper without scoping? Better Eye's.

I'm pretty sure that's where they are going to go with this.

As exo suits is Sledgehammer's baby.
This just gives perks a viable back ground story. Would anyone really care for that, especially COD players?

BLOPS 2 was legendary _O_ . 1 prestige each week :D

You answered your own question :)

Ghost's had a shitty story. So since that game put a bad taste in people's mouths I'm going to assume they will reference the game, but it will not have GHOSTS in it's name.

well, I mainly mean the discrimination from people / established world with body enhancements etc.

to be fair..er, I doubt this'll be an issue or even in anyone's mind once the games drop considering for Blops III it's obviously gonna be more of a backdrop for you to shootbang, whereas Human Divided will have the usual decision making, dialogue trees, etc that make the game's story and setting much more important to the game itself

Isn't it rumored this is cross-gen? Man that's such a bummer, last gen is in its final death spiral. I know COD still did well last year on last gen but just look at Hardline sales on last gen compared to current gen.

Its time to move on devs, its time. Last gen holds back the graphics so much as well, many devs have confirmed this even though its obvious like the Far Cry 4 team.

Think of them more like abilities akin to Crysis 3 multiplayer. Tied to Robotic upgrades that physically change the way your character handles.

Imagine your bionics being like Armored core add on's. That physically change the way you move around the map, even your animations are different.

I think it will be like perks in a sense, but given an actual physical representation rather than a STAT.

What's wrong with it being a CoD game?

he can be interested in the premise but not in the typical COD gameplay?

why does everyone suddenly feel the need to defend cod. Have we already gone from cool to like it, to cool to hate it, to cool to love it again?

some people have really tall horses

ffs

yeah guys people who don't like COD are all "pfffftttt this peasant drivel where you shoot and walk to a checkpoint marker!"

some people might just don't like it?

I was hoping for the best, but given the content of the trailer I think it is safe to assume that BLOPS3 will have the whole jet-packs, robotic limbs and lasers approach going in full force. I'm sure there are those that wanted this (pew! pew!), but I certainly did not, so I guess I'm skipping another CoD installment this year.

Ah I agree ;) . Would be pretty if you could see everybody's body change at the start of the round/a mission.

I'm not defending it. I'm asking what's wrong with it being a CoD game. It's a legitimate question with no foul intention behind it. I'm just trying to understand why people dislike it being a CoD game if it sounds fun.

lol hopefully exo suits were a fad

I'm super skeptical because COD devs can't help themselves. Love to pile on the shit before nailing down the core competencies required (balance/map design/net code/etc...) but tryarch is good. World at War was amazing, BO1 and 2 were good. Maybe it won't suck.

cause chances are the gameplay is gonna be very familiar

chances are you'll get a 6 hour campaign with set pieces but not much interaction beyond a shooting gallery

and chances are you'll get a multiplayer game where you level up to unlock more weapons and perks while you repeatedly do something similar to what you've been doing in all previous games with some small changes

that's just what it is. I personally actually enjoy that to an extent, but I can see why people don't

it's safe to assume it's more of the same regardless of premise is all im saying, and some people might not like that / be done with it

Thanks for putting words in his mouth for him. I'll await his answer. If I wanted your answer I'd have asked you.
