True, but speculating on gameplay would be nice. Seems more along the lines of AW.

Instead of using EXO stuff and gadget's. I think your going to upgrade parts of your body. Better robotic hands gives you faster gun switch and better hip fire. Strong arms let's use bogger LMG's better.

Want to be super fast, get a biotic leg upgrade.

Be a better sniper without scoping? Better Eye's.

I'm pretty sure that's where they are going to go with this.

As exo suits is Sledgehammer's baby.

Don't know why we are talking about marketing deals in a trailer thread but, didn't PlayStation Australia have that picture of SW BF that gave us our first hint of such a deal? Maby same thing is happening here.

Anyway. Nice trailer. I'm not feeling the whole future thing again, but it's Treyarch and they're basically the best COD studio now so i'll wait and see.
 
Yeah who knows if Sony have marketing deal or not on this one. It could very well still be in MS court.

I'm guessing to acquire marketing rights in general for COD is a huge price tag though. I can' t imagine its cheap at all, and considering Sony have Battlefront which also couldn't have been cheap, I could see MS still having those rights.

This would be pretty cool and would make it different enough from EXO suits for me to enjoy it. The 26th can't come any sooner.

Yeah, but that was just a hint. The confirmation only came officially when the trailer debuted, and we saw that the Playstation logo opening/ending the BF trailer, and we can practically see the Sony $$$ in EA's wallet.

They have been teasing implants not exo suits in this teaser.

They don;t carry mechanics each studio makes over to one another.

You don't see Ghost's Swat team thing in AW do you?

I doubt we will see exo's. Abilities and what not will be tied to implants.
 
Looks interesting.

This might be my only full price game bought this year if they don't disappoint. Nothing scratches my FPS itch like COD.

Yea, Im 90% certain that's where their heading. And the whole sharing the memories things will tie into the Numbers from previous blackops.

Also imagine loadouts are download upgrades for your implants.

If they go class based, you want to be more of demolition guy, then download the schematic implaint.

I do agree that the cheering is pointless but with the state of the industry the way it is, there is a consumer interest in who gets marketing deals. Games with clear comarketing in play typically perform better (not a conspiracy, likely because it has to be shown more often pre-launch so it gets polished up more) and footage will actually be shown from that version before release. CoD has only any footage on Playstation platforms before launch with the Ghosts MP reveal. Contenr also gets gated to players on the platform that isn't helping with marketing. It's a sad state of affairs but I can understand why people would be invested in it if they're a big fan of the series and has been treated as second class for a while.

Does it matter at this point though? COD has waned in popularity, no? I'm still assuming MS has locked Fallout to some deal, so maybe COD was the sacrifice.

I'm pretty disappointed that it's futuristic sci-fi. That's like, 3 games in a row now
 
I like the premise a lot more than Advanced Warfare's "PWCs gone rogue" setting (caveat: haven't played Advanced Warfare) but I don't really expect the game to live up to the premise. I could feel this even with the final twist of the trailer, where we go from "massive civil unrest and uncertainty over the nature of humanity" to "oh I guess there are supersoldiers."

All that said: wouldn't it be awesome if all this story content just turned out to be backstory for zombies mode? "They all have cranial implants that have been hijacked!"
 
I say every year that i'm done with CoD and every year I buy it. I'm getting better though. I waited until AW was on sale for $30. Interesting concept but I couldn't tell if the USA was the good guys or the bad guys.

Thats not what I meant. Sony getting it is not a big deal, or shocking. Whoever pays more gets it. Thats what I am trying to say. Just like Assassins last year, Xbox got it cz they paid more. Why is everyone making so much fuzz about this stuff. So there is no blow to the brand or one brand isnt dead if they dont intent to throw as much money as the other brand.

so its not longer exo's just upgrades potentially that make a human better, "run faster so put on long prosthetic legs"

are they seriously going this far with the Deus Ex stuff and basically doing the same fuckin thing that Mankind Divided is doing

Class based would be refreshing.

I just didnt like AW's speed. It was too twitchy, combined with low health, and what felt like smaller maps. Neat idea, sure, but I only ever liked COD when it had sensible spawn points, solid map design, and higher TTK than Blops 2 and MW2/3. I feel like the exos made spawning more problematic in AW, resulting in the same sense of dying from all angles.

I think people are making a big deal because COD is synonymous with the Xbox brand. Every single entry of the game since COD 4 has sold more copies on Xbox. That's 8 games in a row that have sold more on the Xbox brand and the majority of which had exclusive marketing and early DLC on the platform.

COD sells huge number on PS3 as well, but its majority mindshare and marketshare has been on the Xbox platform. If that changes, that is a pretty major thing from the business side of things. It would be a major landmark grab for Sony to land it, IF it happens.
