Call of Duty: WWII - Beta Impressions

COD is dead honestly..It's the same old crap every year reskinned.Tried the beta again this week and still no S&D the only game type worth playing...Yeah,uninstalled.

I'm sure people are loving the beta but I'm sticking to Battlefield 1,Rainbow 6 and PUBG for MP fun and it seems my friends I play are in the same boat..Shame as I used to love COD but the they don't even try anymore it seems.I'm sure the SP will be good tho.
 
Played up til lvl 10 last night. I appreciate them going this route but I'm not feeling it. I've been checked out of COD for a while and I don't think this is going to bring me out of it.

Other games just do everything better for me compared to this. Plus there seems to be some inconsistency in the matches which makes for some frustrating moments.

If the SP good maybe I'll rent it to run through but I didn't even bother doing that if IW and lots of praise for that games SP.
 
The quick scoping has got to go. Part of the reason I loved black ops 3 so much is because of there being no quick scoping. Had some guy who was 17-1 on the trench map quick scoping within the first five minutes of the game. Literally might be the reason I cancel my pre order. It's not fun when I'm doing well and some guy is quick scoping. I get the jump on him and he still kills me and ruins my kill streak, because of quick scoping.
 
Ok I just hit max beta rank again, and I think this is a good place for me to stop and not get burnt out.

Overall, if they fix the horrendous latency, and assuming there will be tons more unlocks (camo, alt versions of guns, etc.), I feel they have a really good game here. And War mode is amazing.

Beyond all my complaining about the latency, I haven't had this much fun in a COD game since before they went to the jetpack garbage.

You know this is a beta right with a limited set of modes?
 
They just raised the level cap to 35, added Kill Confirmed, the flamethrower as a scorestreak and a new SMG.

I'm far from an expert on WWII history so correct me if I'm wrong but automatic pistols weren't around during WWII, right? Hopefully this isn't a statement of intent to veer from basic historical accuracy.

Yeah I really don't know why they just keep adding SMGs. Only thing I can think of is that they know they're OP and they want to test as many as they can so when the eventual nerf happens they know exactly how to do so.

The M1A1 feels a lot better now. Getting easily 20+ kills a match with it now.
 
I tinkered around with War a bit, its a neat mode and the type of objective driven style I can really get behind, Rifles and LMGS also feel more viable here, I can actually use the M1 Garand and stand a chance.

Overall though I still don't know if I'm excited for the full game. BF1 already fills my historical shooter fix, and I've kind of had my fill of the beta. The campaign should be great as Advanced Warfare's was awesome, but I'm not really pumped for Activisions take on Band of Brothers for the upteenth time.

Actually, the concept of a fully automatic pistol goes back to WW1. It's the foundation of the sub-machine gun, like the MP18, the idea of a fully automatic weapon that fired pistol caliber ammunition like .45 or 9mm. The Mauser C96 had a full-auto mode, so did some models of the Luger P08. They weren't especially common though, not by a long shot, though semi-automatic pistols were standard issue.
 
I just don't have it in me to grind the last 5-10 levels to get to use the rest of the guns that they will be rolling out in the Beta. The only thing that would get me to go back and play at this point would be them adding another map to war mode.

I really think the poorly designed maps and terrible netcode is going to make me skip out this year. This will be the first COD game I take a break from since WaW.
 
Signed up for a beta code through the Xfinity promotion and it never came. Comcast sucks! It really sucks that Activision makes you pre-order for a beta code. And no PC beta! I'm not saying I won't buy this game, but I definitely won't be buying on day 1. I'll probably wait to buy it on sale if the single player campaign is good.
 
Already a bit tired of this CoD, so I'm going to cancel my preorder. Black Ops 3 is better, so why buy this one. On to the Battlefront 2 beta, let's see how that one is.
 
Game not loading for anybody else? Getting put into games quick then getting stuck on the loading screen until it times out.
