I want to see people posting Nintendo games that never made it. Maybe early versions that got scraped.

This isn't just for Nintendo Made games, but also lets see games for Nintendo systems. Resident Evil for GBC or Nintendogs for the Cube may all show up in this topic..get going GAF!

Zelda: SpaceWorld edition.

Zelda: Wind Waker non-cell shaded version (April Fools).

Mario 128 from the "128 Marios" demo.

No it wasn't. Master Quest was a mere remix of OoT. The real 64DD Zelda was never released.

Yep. I remember reading in a Nintendo Power that in the Ocarina 64DD version that there would be natural growth in the game, like moss and shit would grow on trees after a period of time. :lol

Fire Emblem 64
Earthbound 64
64 Wars
Resident Evil Gaiden
Resident Evil 0
Dead or Alive 64

...man, N64 had more canceled JP games than almost any other platform. :/

Dinosaur Planet. SFA was a vastly different game from what rare originally intended. Dinosaur Planet actually sounded like it had an interesting story at one stage.

I guess these cancelled games just didn't live up to Nintendo's (high) standards?

And Super Paper Mario isn't cancelled. Right?

mario 128 was never a game. Miyamoto cleared it up years ago but people wont let it die.

anyway there's been a bunch of nintendo games that never made it.

buggy boogie, creator, miniracers, that n64 tomb raider clone, freakboy, those 3 retrostudios games(car, football, sword), eartbound64, tomb raider 64.... there's tons.

yes it was. what master quest was is what zelda 64DD was going to be according to nintendo... disappointing yes? the stuff they originally planed like trees regrowing was nothing more than an example of what they said the DD could do.

After OoT, the Zelda team split into two. One lot worked on MM, the other on Ura Zelda, for the 64DD. The latter was simply a remix of OoT's dungeons, which we got in the form of Master Quest.

I believe the original intention was to release OoT from the start on the 64DD and have plants growing over time and shit, which is maybe where the confusion comes in.

I still want Donkey Kong Racing. It probably would have been crap given Rare's...ability around that time, but the idea of racing through jungle environments on different animals really appealed for some reason.

Of course, nothing tops Metroid Dread...not that I care what they call it so long as we get another 2D Metroid at some point. MP:H failure to light up the sales charts gives me hope.

man, what was the name of it, it was one of the original capcom 5.. hmm, something like Dark Phoenix? or just Phoenix? the kid icarus like game i mean :D

and there was one where a trailer without sound was released. they showed a horde of minotaurus like creatures on 2 legs running past the hero, while he was attacking some of them with stylish sword combos :D

I remember 2 or 3 screenshots for a title called Riqa(N64) in one of my old N64 mags! I think it was supposed to be a 3rd person shooter.

It was more than that...it was the game that would finally give Nintendo their own Tomb Raider and put the PlayStation in its grave.

Also: WinBack > MGS

good times

Diddy kong racing 2 :( Hopefully if DKR DS sales well then we might see 2 on DS 2 :) (If those IBM GC level handheld chips rumours are correct.. & Microsoft don't enter the handheld market)

Raven Blade! That game looked really nice. Too bad Retroid Studios never got to pick it up again.

They also like to show games at E3 then never release them in North America:

Nintendo Puzzle Collection (GC)
Kururinpa (GBA and GC)

There are others I'm not remembering.

And the GC/GBA connectivity games... Kirby-something, Mario vs. DK, etc.

Word.

At the least, it sounded like it was going to be a decent enough title on its own accord.

Instead, what did we get? Pretty much a half-baked game that tried to be both a double major in StarFox and a Rare-IP...and not succeeding all that hotly in either.

And those who have a sharp eye can see that there was obvioulsy meant to be more for the game, before the StarFox add-ons. For instance, Krystal (in her original feline form) obviously had more of a part to play beyond being mere "tutorial girl". And General Scales was definitely going to have a more meaningful boss battle, which got cut for the final version of the game...:lol

Mario 128 :(
That game where you could take a picture of yourself be a character in a Nintendo world
Zelda OOT was originally going to be a fully 3D remake of the very first Zelda.
