Exactly what I meant with the game being widely misunderstood. The basics of a fighting game in a third-person shooter. It was different and complaints about it wanted it to be more like other games. You would be crucified if you went into the SFIV thread and demanded that it should be more like Tekken.Coxswain said:Ehh, I thought the best/most interesting part of the game, in MP especially, was the invulnerability frames and that the animations were actually one of the most important elements of gameplay. Hopefully Capcom fixes the
[i shoot you]
[they have this weird falling animation, can't get hurt]
[lying on the ground for 2 seconds, can't get hurt]
[start getting up again, can't get hurt]
[stand up fully, can't get hurt for 2 more seconds]
[battle continues]
Hate that bullshit. My shotgun to your face should kill you, not make you do this weird animation that gives the wounded the advantage.
If you're a good player, a grounded enemy is a dead enemy (assuming a one on one fight). You either tag them with a gum or disc grenade or throw a grenade at their feet just as they get up. Rolling invincibility is far more important.Icarus said:Agreed. The whole point of the invuln was that it resets the conflict... if you knock them down, without killing them in one shot, especially with a one shot kill weapon, you did something wrong, and the other person SHOULD have a chance to score the kill against you.
That's what makes Lost Planet decidedly different than every other shooter.
Basically.Sectus said:That element also allowed for some interesting tactics, like trying to get a grenade to detonate just as a player gets back up.
What are you going to do if it don't come to the PS3? I would like WarDevil stay multiplatform so 360 owner could also buy the game.Trailblazer said:Tell me about it. LP2 better come to the PS3 or they'll be hell to pay!

" Earlier this week, Lost Planet 2 was announced on Xbox LIVE. The upcoming issue of Japanese game magazine lists the game as only "Xbox 360." Guess that means it's on the Xbox 360.
But how does that fit into Capcom's multi-platform strategy?

Capcom's multiplatform.
Yeah but it was a half ass port and they were asking full price at the time when on the 360 you can get it for $20. And that's what I did, I bought the PS3 version on Gamefly, and I waited till it dropped to $20 or lower ($15 for me).Totobeni said:well I don't blame Capcom here at all , since Lost Planet 1 did like crap on PS3 , and if Microsoft give Capcom some money in the exclusive Deal ( or maybe for markiting ) then it's better than selling just less than 10K on PS3 .
Yeah, makes totally sense with a multiplat engine.Angelus said:I fucking love console exclusivity because chances are Capcom won't be tied down with having to worry about a PS3 port and can milk the 360 for all her power.
This is why you're suppose to own more than one console. And if you can't,then you'd better find a friend that does.:lol
What really makes sense is that PS3 owners are getting the sequel to a game they never got, and are seemingly not getting the sequel to a game they did.Autofokus said:Yeah, makes totally sense with a multiplat engine.

Rhazer Fusion said:Didn't it come out much later on the PS3? It seems like later ports typically don't perform as well as when the games do when they are first released. Bring out your games a year later and it probably won't perform as well as it could of.

The game takes advantage of Capcoms most highly advanced software development tool, the MT Framework 2. This is the first game to make use of the new technology that builds on the advancements made in the original MT Framework.

notice in the press release how it says exclusive announcement haha... Personally I think its one of those cases were they announce it sooner so MS can put emphasis on their version or something.
An exclusive game from Capcom in this day and age is quite something though. Not to mention they'll port it before you can say IndestructableFFChris said:Yup, that's what it looks like to me as well. Pitiful effort from Microsoft, I don't know who they're trying to fool. They should start investing in real exclusives, rather than buying so much marketing for exclusive DLC and fake exclusivity, it's really starting to get on my nerves.

At no point in the PR do they say exclusive, only that it's being made on 360.Kingsgoon said:If it's a 360 exclusive, it's quite impressive how fast things change.
"All major titles launched during the next fiscal year or thereafter will be developed as
multi-platform games," reads Capcom's shareholder report for its fiscal year 2008,
which ended on March 31 of this year."
