Is it confirmed that the character in the screens isn't who you control? It makes sense, but just wondering.

Scans looks sweet. Not sure about having someone in the way though... Really hope you are not going to be punished for accidently shooting them in the ass or something.

I don't see Capcom forcing friendly fire in a gun shooting game when they don't force it in RE5 either.

Looks much better than UC. Too bad they won't delay it to add an unlockable free movement mode after the fan uproar :lol

Accidentally? :D

See what they're doing with the initial part of Raccoon City makes me want them to redo RE3 and get it done right this time.

That said, we still haven't seen the actual RPD (from what I can tell). They could still cop out (no pun intended) and use the Outbreak RPD again (and probably adding to it by adding the other half of the RPD that actually wasn't featured in File 2). I would also he unsurprised if the laboratory area was lifted out of the first Outbreak. The only issue is that DC looks a bit different from the first UC, so having Leon and Claire as they appear in those scans overlayed onto the Outbreak environments would look so sloppy and bizarre. Even Cavia couldn't go with that...

>_< Didnt RE4 Wiimake sell a crapload more then UC on the wii?

Doesnt that tell them that... theres more money to be made in giving wii owners a 'real' re game >.>?

Im sure most RE fans would be happy with a RE4 types remake of older games, so why dont they do that? Capcom makes so little sense in their wiicisions.

I mean, being sad Zack and Wiki wasnt a block buster, but not advertising it, giving it a rather convoluted name... Bleh, theres a huge gap between the game making talent in the company, and the decision makers.

UC looked great in the mansion. And like shit in anyplace else. I hope the enviroments here are more consistent and the enemy encounters more strategic. Unless of course they are aiming for a more arcade feel to this.

UC also suffered from major framerate problems in some areas which is a really bad joke considering the genre.

I really like the idea of a second character visible on screen. If they utilize it well.

Not really. If I remember correctly RE4 sold about 1,5 millions and UC 1,1 millions, or something like that. Totally makes sense to do another UC, given that a RE4.5 would cost much more.

Except a lot of people supported Umbrella Chronicles because they thought it would mean RE5 on the Wii if it sold well. If Capcom had made it clear that we'd never see any mainline games on the system and that if we did they'd be outsourced to crap teams (i.e. Dead Rising) I'm sure you would have seen a lot less hype and excitement with Umbrella Chronicles. Also, at the time it wasn't like there was crowded rail-shooter market yet.

This next game, especially if released at $50, isn't going to get nearly the same love as Umbrella Chronicles did (outside of the tiny amount of people owning multiple consoles).

I look forward to seeing the sales numbers for this game. Should be veeerrry interesting.

Alot of people? You think a million people think like the members of neogaf? Can people here please stop equating themselves to the general public.

Most people are sane and buy games they're interested in instead of trying to send a message to a publisher. I don't think the people who bought UC only to get Capcom to sell more Wii games are even a statistically significant proportion of the total number of people who bought it. This is because most human beings have perspective and basic dignity.

Excellent graphics...but that's even more annoying.

It's like Capcom saying.."this is how good a real Wii Resident Evil game could look..if we could be bothered to make one".

Those scans are pretty hot. Leon is such a badass.

GAF's biggest downfall, always.

Well at least the graphics department it's good, very good (nice Claire model,...and seems that have a nice ass :lol ), but seeing this made me wonder how look could have look a REmake2 with pre-rendered backgrounds...

Capcom maybe don't love Wii that much, guys, but definetly more than the RE original fans...

That's what I'm saying!

But I secretly want it anyway. I liked UC.

Gotta say...looks very good. If Capcom makes a serious effort I will be the first one to applaud.

Thanks, duck, although I hoped he would have edited it himself quickly instead of going down like that.

I think there was a fair portion of people who bought this game off the RE name and assumed it was like other RE games.

I'm hoping this game bites them in the ass a little. ~500k WW will do fine. Then get can get their finger out of their ass and do some proper work on the Wii.

The partner model looks pretty damn good, even if it's a magazine scan (which always hides some flaws).

Thanks for the quick response. length of ban?

Seeing them on screen in action is like a taunt. The AI plays it re4-style whilst you watch it from a first-person perspective.

That would be a HUGE kick in the balls considering the gun shop scene is shown there in the scans...The game BETTER follow the true RE2 path... >=|

I think we'll have to wait quite a bit to see them doing proper work on the Wii, if at all.
Except Zack & Wiki, the RE4 port and maybe Basara 2 Heroes (I have no idea about that), all the other Wii games Capcom has already released are outsourced.
Except the RE4 engine they have almost no Wii tech ready, opposed to their shiny multiplatform MT Framework for PS3, 360 and PC which was - and still is - their main focus (this is why most of their games are PCS360 with no Wii version, they'd have to redo them from scratch). If they're ever going to bother, and they currently seem pretty unwilling to, it will take time.

Capcom Announces Darkside Chronicles and Resident Evil Classics

Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced its plans for a big comeback of its multi-million-selling franchise, Resident Evil® to the Wii™ video game system this year. Resident Evil®: The Darkside Chronicles, the sequel to the highly successful Wii title Resident Evil®: The Umbrella Chronicles, is in development exclusively for the Wii and is set to hit North American retailers this winter. Capcom also introduced its plans for a new Resident Evil “Classics” line, which will bring the critically acclaimed Nintendo GameCube™ classics, Resident Evil® and Resident Evil® Zero exclusively to the Wii, allowing a whole new audience to experience the world of Resident Evil.

“We are very excited to be bringing the sequel to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles to the Wii as it’s the perfect fit for the platform,” said Mona Hamilton, vice president, marketing, Capcom Entertainment. “We are always looking for new ways to give Capcom fans a chance to experience our games. Umbrella Chronicles was a huge success for us, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles includes a more in-depth co-op experience, and we are excited to bring this exclusive content to the Wii audience.”
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles‘s story is based on Resident Evil 2 and includes the popular characters, Leon S Kenney and Claire Redfield. Its on-rails style gameplay and active camera will create a more immersive “Chronicles” survival experience. As in the last installment, this is a first-person game with extreme shooting gameplay and interactive pathways. Filling in many of the missing pieces of storyline that were not covered in the original “Umbrella Chronicles”, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles will give hardcore fans the chance to re-live some of the most classic moments of the Resident Evil franchise, while allowing new players to take advantage of the intense action-horror experience only possible on the Wii.

Gamers can choose to take on their enemies with the help of an A.I.-controlled character or enlist the help of a friend to fight via two-player co-op. Adding new dimension and strategy to the arcade-style gameplay in the “Chronicles” experience, the new Evade system will utilize the Wii Remote for a more intense experience when fighting enemies.

Capcom’s new Resident Evil “Classics” line will allow the new audience who has embraced the Wii to experience some of the greatest games in the Resident Evil franchise for the value price of $29.99. Both set to launch this year, the remake of Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero have been refitted to support the Wii Remote, giving the Wii audience easy access to the rich characters and in-depth storylines of the series and the chance to experience both games on a new platform.

FUCK. With those characters in those screen shots it looks like a bad ass 3rd person shooter of RE2. Such an evil taunt Capcom. EVIL.
