My Juri is straight garbage, but I'll play with you guys this weekend.

Is there any way to turn the music off completely? In options I have it down as far as it can go, of course, but it's not actually off. I can still hear it a bit. I have iTunes playing my music in the background, so yeah.

Also is there any easier way to manage costume mods? I didn't own vanilla SFIV on the PC, so I'm just learning how this all works. Basically I'm wondering if I have to manually swap files in and out every time I want to try out something new.

No one?

My apologies for the large images...

I noticed a bit of an issue with SSFIV (and with SFIV as well). I'm not sure what's causing this, but running the game at 2560x1440 appears to be just 1920x1080 upscaled. In SSFIV the fonts are rendered in the correct resolution and so are the rings around the character portraits in the character select screen. The graphics settings also clearly tell me it should be rendering at 2560x1440. For some reason I remember SFIV running just fine at 2560x1440 upon release but seems to behave similar now, so perhaps this is a driver issue. Has anyone else tried running this game at resolutions above 1920x1080?

I took these pictures without any AA just to make it a little more obvious

As you can probably tell, it's quite blurry. It shouldn't look like this at its native res.

Lookin' good! (but on my monitor stretched it looks like the pic on top)

I noticed that in Vanilla as well. Sucks.

Been taking some coaching from Corky now that everything is working properly. If anyone wants to add me-

GWFL: TyrantGuard (hooray for character limits)

To those of you who already have the game, are any alternative costumes available, or will they all come out as paid DLC?

So after finally getting the keyboard on my notebook (way to go Crapcom!) and my Saturn Pad, this shit is SO GORGEOUS!

Is Motion Blur a PC exclusive btw?

I'm using x360ce for both of my pov sticks. Capcom says there will be a fix very soon.

Hrmm, I must be dumb - I think I have it set up right but it's still not recognizing anything. What do I need to set the stick to to make this work? Thanks, btw.

Meanwhile, I've been mashing on the keyboard and getting boners over how good it looks

I did this for the HORI HRAP3 PS3/PC version:

Make sure your game is NOT currently running. Extract and run the x360ce.exe in the steam directory for SSF4:AE (Steam\steamapps\common\super street fighter iv - arcade edition\). It will create an x360ce.ini file and a xinput1_3.dll file. Configure your joystick (map the buttons on your stick to the buttons used for the 360 controller config) and then save the settings. Launch the game and it should load the dll file and your joystick should now be working.

Just got done playing a bunch of matches with jlai that felt completely lag free and we're on opposite coasts. I'm stunned at how awesome the online is on PC.

GFWL name: KakThInfected (yeah, it's a typo)

Add me :D

Huh. All x360ce seems to do is make my mouse freak out. I don't think it's loading the .dll...

I'm also interested in joining a steam 4-pack if there's one available. I'm in Europe so I won't be hosting and I will pay my share with PayPal.

DLC is up! all alt costume for 1200 ms point!

For those who want to get digital version but left out cold by steam/direct2drive silly region locking you can try gamersgate.com (got mine there).

Suddenly my game ended up being capped at 25fps with the Fixed framerate setting and everything runs in slow-motion. The other settings are at 30 fps but frameskip rather than slow-mo. I ran it at 120+ fps during benchmark and it played perfectly for hours before flipping out.

How do I fix this? :/

D3DOverrider? D:

D3DOverrider is forcing Triple Buffering, but toggling it does nothing.

Whenever I run the game windowed and focus my desktop instead of the game during a benchmark or whatever, it sets the game to 60 fps again. When I focus the game window it instantly drops to 25 fps. What... the... hell!?

I had a similar issue with the game suddenly running at 5-10fps. I had to delete the .exe and let steam download it again.

I have bought the game for my arcade cab and using xbox360ce, I can simulate an xbox controller for my joysticks and it runs beautifully.. Playing this as an arcade game is soooo fun.

Add me for easy wins, hehe.

Steam and GFWL: Suikodan

I've had the game since day 1, but haven't touched it because my video card is ass. But my GTX 460 is coming in today, so I should be more active now.

GFWL: RiceEater483

Looking forward to playing some of you guys soon.

is the benchmark only available with the game or can you download the benchmark by itself? I think I can run it decently on my 4870, but I just want to make sure...

DLC doesn't work with the steam version? =(

Has anyone tried? I still don't believe that the XBL marketplace DLC won't work, and they just have it offer it via Steam and are encouraging purchasing that way due to some contractual reasons. I'm speculating that it doesn't matter. You can actually run the game without Steam using the exe in the steamapps folder. For some reason I got asked to enter my CD key twice after downloading via Steam. I think the second time I ran the game without Steam running when I was trying to make a shortcut directly to the exe so that it that would pin on the taskbar. Weird.

Deleting .exe (and a whole bunch of other files) did nothing :/

I've tried pretty much everything and nothing seems to help, god damn it.

Edit: I've reinstalled the game via Steam as well as removed the whole Documents SF4 folder (and updated my video drivers). I also removed clientregistry.blob, just in case. The game still runs capped at 25fps :(

Keep in mind we've been playing for two days straight, racked up 9 hours of game time before anything happened. Didn't change anything on my computer between plays either. I am so confused. Doing a defrag of my drive currently but I doubt it will help since it seems to be a video issue.

Oh dear lord - after a whole bunch of troubleshooting (including disk defragmenting and reinstalling GFWL from scratch) we finally found the culprit. x360ce apparently went completely bonanza when we bound a PS3 pad through it with MotionInJoy and thus had two "360" pads plugged in.

This apparently left a sour taste in the x360ce.ini file that for what the fuck ever reason forced SSF4 into 25 fps while focused and 60 fps while the desktop was focused... In what universe does this in any way, shape or form make sense at all?

Really liking the performance of this game. Runs so smooth and everything just looks great.

The AE characters have all 12 colors right off the bat. I played Arcade with Juri and unlocked another color for her.

Update by Capcom on the patch:

We were originally going to have a small patch available for users today to manually replace as an interim fix until a proper title update could be rolled and internally tested. We apologize for the delay while a new plan is being rolled out.

We have created a full title update that's already with Microsoft being on track for expedited approval. Consequently, users won't have to manually do anything when the update goes live Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. It'll update automatically when you launch the game.

This title update will include the following fixes:
- Support for keyboards and gaming devices that were not being recognized by the game
- Patch allowing re-mapped keys
- Changes Fixed Mode as the default graphic setting
- DRM removed for non-Steam versions of the game
- NVIDIA 3D Vision enhancements

Please check back as we will have additional information soon, and please visit the Arcade Edition PC issues thread if you have encountered any problems that we haven't mentioned.

So, the only fighter I ever got really into was Tekken, with the third title in the series. I learned it pretty well, the timing of the different moves, the default 10 hit combos of various characters, juggle combos, custom combos, throws, King's and Nina's and Anna's multiple throw combos, etc. I didn't just button mash my way to victory or learn the moves by heart and do them over and over hoping they will work, I just knew the game well, what to do and when, from the simplest punch to the strongest special move.

But I don't "get" Street Fighter at all. All I ever do is almost to button mash my way to a victory the Very Easy AI lets me off with because anything harder eventually kicks my ass without showing me what I'm doing wrong. I don't understand how I'm supposed to learn the balance of the moves with the hitboxes and priorities that barely resemble the action that you see on screen, I don't understand the design behind the button combinations for the various moves as I'm trying the usual quarter circle, back forward, forward forward and then attack stuff and they only seem to work for a particular few characters with the rest barely pulling anything off. I don't even know how to do the throws, lol.

So, yeah, what can teach a total noob like me the very basic principles of SF well enough to then train and improve by myself?
