Capcom's 2016 line up seems very underwhelming so far

Their "big" realeases are a PC port (Dragon's Dogma),a remaster (RE Zero),and another generic online FPS (Umbrella Corps).Their only true significant release will be SF5.That's pretty disappointing IMO.

Do you think they are going to release any other big title next year (other than SF5) or do we have to wait for 2017?

EDIT : I forgot there's also Ace Attorney 6

The state of SFV makes me think they funneled too much money into the probable garbage fire that is the Panta Rei engine.

They're coasting on a MH4 spin off, a budget looking SF game, a PC port, and a F2P FPS cashgrab. Not a great look to me, and I'm a massive fan of what SFV is doing.

I wouldn't be too surprised if RE7 is announced early 2016 for holiday release like with RE6. But then again who knows how the Panty Raid has fucked up their release pipeline. It's the anniversary year after all (with the silly logo and everything) so I would be very surprised if they didn't at least initially plan to release it this year.

RE7 is a strong candidate to be shown off next year, and maybe even released (but who knows)

There's also always the wildcards of older IP that are due for new installments. DMCV needs to happen...

They've been quiet on all fronts besides remasters, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter. Hopefully they'll have some stuff to show next year

There's also Ace Attorney 6 and in Japan they're releasing Monster Hunter Stories. At this point, there isn't much reason to worry as most publishers don't have their fall lineup ready to be announced yet.

Resident Evil Origins
Street Fighter 5
Ace Attorney 6

Seems pretty good to me as of now. Might get more announcements down the road.

Monster Hunter Stories will likely be their next big 3DS sensation.

To me, the better question is if stuff like RE7, DMC5 and the new MegaMan (who's slated to get a cartoon by 2017) will be unveiled by 2016.

RE7 must be near-complete at this point, unless they completely changed direction mid-development and tossed a bunch of work.

If they are using their Panda Rei engine for RE7 it might have given them a lot of trouble (judging fom Deep Down's development hell)

And this is the company people thought would just bring out a new SF by themselves?

Street Fighter V and Ace Attorney 6 for me. If Monster Hunter X comes out here too, then I guess that's a plus. They aren't as prominent as they used to be, but they still put out some great stuff every now and then.

Budget looking SF? The models look clean, the backgrounds obviously need work but most of the roster looks really good

Deep Down is an interesting case because that game has undergone a heavy redesign. The pr we have about DD indicates a change in direction/design/scope more than technical problems with the engine. They demo'd DD and the game looked pretty impressive, as far as technology.

So even if RE7 had a retooling, or as you suggest, technology troubles... man, they've had a lot of time. All of DD's dev cycle plus, what two years? Iirc, idk it's 2 am here. Lol.

Dragon's Dogma and SF5 are pretty much all I need.

What's a "big" lineup from another similarly-tiered publisher? I mean, you can't pool them in with Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft/Activision/EA, as they're all much too large. Most publishers at the scale of Capcom probably don't have a ton of releases that are earth-shaking either. Atlus is going to release Persona 5 and that's pretty much all anyone wants from Atlus.
Deep Down, I think we all know.
ftfy

Resident Evil 7 and Devil May Cry 5 (to a lesser extent) are all but confirmed. Plus there's always another Monster Hunter on the horizon.

I think what's really slowing Capcom down is their horrifically botched Panta Rhei engine.

Well, given how badly Dragon's Dogma ran on its original release, Dragon's Dogma at 60 fps may as very well be a new game in comparison.

A PC port, a remaster and that one marquee title for the year... So it's a normal year for Capcom then. :P.

They would have maybe probably released something in 2018 most likely.

I dunno maybe i'm spoiled by Square Enix's (Japan) killer line up for next year. But honestly i expect more from Capcom than this.Hopefully they will make some new announcements soon.

"Killer" line-up... uh... do... explain? Are they releasing Valkyrie Profile 3 and I'm unawares?
