Do you remember their reveal showing?
Hell, the presentation even hinted that the game was online with Yoshi/Blanka's little message about cooperating on the game.
Perfectly. Nothing misleading. People misled themselves if they took anything away from it other than "PS4 game on new Panta Rhei engine."

The graphics looks nowhere like in the first reveal.
You appreciate the irony in saying this, yes? People shouldn't believe anything about a game until they've seen it played but apparently you're ready to believe there's a downgrade based on this teaser with no evidence of anyone actually playing it. OK!
I believe the problem is the huge graphical difference, like it doesn't even look like they tried to come close to the reveal. I say give them time though...
The graphics looks nowhere like in the first reveal. Monster art style is also very mediocre.
Here are some videos showing off the fire tech from the engine
Well I did love Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. As long as the gameplay is legit, if it's like that but with human players instead of pawns, I think it could be awesome. If it's more like an MMO or something, will be disappointed, unless there is instanced dungeons and of the same quality as Dark Arisen.
If they do it like Dark Souls, all the better. Just use the stones you normally used for Pawns, to find players online. Would be best way to do it IMO.
Trailer looks far off the initial render though, I know it's still early, and I'm okay as long as the gameplay is legit, but it doesn't look next-gen at all so far. I will give them the benefit of the doubt to use TGS as a grander reveal though.
People are just surprised that this may be an MMO instead of a game with an optional online component.Exactly. I don't know why people are so surprised by the online announcement. It was hinted at back in February.
Can you imagine Bitterblack Isle with a mate or two and their pawns? They could limit to one pawn per person. Or maybe do away with the pawns all together. Would there be any need for them? I dunno, I kinda liked the pawns. Torn...
MMO? Yeah, no.
I think the logo designer misread the memo.
The game is about going deep down the earth, not deep down the ocean.
Online game. Now my interest has diminished.
There is a huge graphical difference in ANY compressed, low resolution video compared to a less compressed, higher resolution video. Why is this so hard to grasp?
I'd wait until we get better footage before jumping the gun and calling apocalypse.
https://twitter.com/Yoshi_OnoChin/status/344935203980066816Blanka visiting to SCEA booth. deep down couldn't set public playable on E3 in this time. It will be next time...
https://twitter.com/Yoshi_OnoChin/status/314978819545133056I played deep down (working title) on PS4 with Blanka. ;D
I'm witholding judgement until the big revela but yes that video did not do the game any favors.
Yeah pawns were cool, might be cool to have a mix of players and pawns.

Yeah but I think they should keep the small adventuring party setup so keep it down to around five or six in a party. If you add in some pawns that leaves only two or three spaces for human players. I guess that could work...
Very good question, see my theory above:From the whole three seconds of footage I saw, it's pretty much impossible to fairly compare it to the initial reveal. I'm honestly more surprised that they decided to stick with the title "deep down."
I think he means either pawns or players if you choose not to play with people.
I find it funny when some people believe that the game will now look like that. Obviously taken from some super old and early footage.
PS2 version confirmed!
Where are people pulling MMO from? their ass?
The genre is listed as "Memory Reading RPG" on the site. Requires online, many other players.

Oh it is, is it? Why release this now after we've already seen the incredible reveal trailer then? Surely this footage wouldn't be older?I find it funny when some people believe that the game will now look like that. Obviously taken from some super old and early footage.
