I'm going to play Witcher 1 today because of this. Are they an independent studio however? Or do they operate under a parent company?

From what I've read, they're publicly traded and the major shareholder is the biggest bank in Poland.
I do wonder if they'll be able to buy out their own stock eventually and take the company private?

It is fantastic because it means they are less likely to get snatched up and become one of the big guys next ruined studio.

These guys need their independence so they can make things how they want to make them.
