Cheap fucks, their 3DTVs don't come with glasses. :lol

Why does Sony keep mentioning RealD when every time they show a 3D TV they're going to use active shutter glasses?

The shutter technology Sony is using was developed by RealD.

Sony Styl....Styl...SonySt...Son....Sony Stores

TransferJet supports 560Mbps of transfer speed. Remind me to make sure I have that turned off if I ever put one of those cameras into my front pocket.

They are licensing technology from them - the glasses me thinks.

That's what they said. 2 pairs of active shutter glasses included with their 3d bravias.

I thought it said they came with 2 pairs

One model comes with the receiver and two pairs, the others are 3D capable with the receiver and glasses not included. Gotta buy those in addition to the TV.

Newb question, you can make a non-3d HDTV into a 3D tv with those shutter glasses right?

I think it'll very much depend on the original HDTV. They mentioned something about a separate box but I wasn't paying attention.

EDIT: Totally misunderstood your question. :(

No cuz you need a higher refresh rate.

On the topic of 3D TVs, I really think this whole thing is going to blow up in and be a waste of time. We'll look back at it as one of the stupid things the industry focused on. Seeing everyone put those glasses on to watch TV is just silly.

I am still not buying into this whole 3D tv thing... It seems more expensive HDTV when most stuff are not going to be HDTV and then you need to wear those classes. >_> I don't want to wear glasses when watching tv when I already have prescription glasses in the first place.:lol :lol :lol

What about Plasmas? Does 600Hz in plasma works right?:lol

Sport, atleast over here in the UK is the only reason alot of people have HD packages. But I don't see all these people shelling out extra money per month. On top of buying a new TV.

I'm still not convinced.
Or movie channels but even then there's not that much HD content on tv as there is here in the uk.

What if I have a 120Hz TV, then I'm set?

your wrong its the natural progression ppl said the same about color tv and HD tv

If the prices for 3D televisions are right good and they turn out not to suck, I would totally pick one up. Hell, even though I didn't have trouble watching Avatar in 3D, I would still probably switch to contacts to make daily viewing easier.

HDTVs don't require you to wear glasses.. You can tell the difference between HD and SD content without special glasses.

3D HDTVs will be cool if they did not require you to wear those glasses.

RealD uses passive circular polarized lenses. Dolby3D & XpanD use active shutter-based glasses like the ones Sony keeps showing will be included with their TVs. But they still gave the audience at CES RealD glasses to use for their presentation :lol

If you have a 120Hz TV right now, it doesn't support a 120Hz input feed.

i think i need to see how 3D looks on these TV's to make a proper judgement but at the moment, i'm not that impressed.....i just dont see how it could make what i'm watching that much better, especially wearing those glasses

outside the US especially, where we are happy just get programs and sport in HD.....no idea how long it will take 3D to catch on

Lots of 3D TV crow to be served up.

No, I highly doubt that. The glasses aspect will be the limiting factor that will prevent it from catching on. It just looks stupid, you're going to need one for everyone watching TV, and it's going to be an extra cost that people won't put out for.

I would pay for a podcast by the Narrator of Come Dine with me, the man is genius.

What the fuck...Lady GaGa is the creative director at Polaroid (for some project)? :lol

I fucking love it

I think it's too soon for 3DTV... I realize that companies want to drive profits, but consumers are just settling into the HDTV era... now everyone in the room is expected to wear glasses or go blind?

The SD news was huge though.

Its the same in the US with HDTV stuff... But there are a lot of HD channels, but they have bars on the side... :(

Regardless, many people still don't have HDTVs... Also watching tv with glasses is always was turn off during the 90s and still is...
