Going upstairs to have my wife fix this thing I've got in my pants from this conference....

didn't even get a live demo of Natal.

that's the only thing I was waiting for. It's been about 8 months since the last one ffs.

PS3 is using 1.3, but is confirmed to be 3D compatible.

PS3 is an anomaly in that that FW is programmable to an extent that standard CE devices can't compete with.

HDMI 1.4 simply automates things

:lol :lol :lol

Are you talking about her giving you a release or changing the limpness from the failure of this conference? NVM, don't want to know...

Natal still looks like a project in desperate need of something to validate it's existance

Yeah i get the same feeling.

Natal's Holiday 2010 and Gem is reportedly... when? I honestly didn't expect Natal as late as that; but then again I hadn't given it that much thought.

Kinda surprised that lots of people on GAF thought they were going to demo Natal live.

With it coming out Fall 2010 pretty sure there is still a lot of work left going into this thing and that we won't see it until it is at a presentable level (this goes for the games for it as well).

GDC is in March I would expect then we get a live demo and then E3 we will get to see the launch titles for it. I don't know I never really expect too much from CES...don't let the hype of this trade show get to me.

it could be successful if done withOUT glasses.

But nobody wants to buy a brand new $2,000 TV when they just got one last year

I know this is hard to comprehend, but not everyone bought a new TV last year

:lol Microsoft's CES conference leaves everyone disappointed when its over...same thing every year. Haven't we learned our lesson?

Ok...so more info on this Mediaroom 2.0 stuff.

I want. I want bad.

Saves me having to get a 2nd Uverse box for my bedroom. I want it now.

Jobs' patented Reality Distortion Field destroys anything Ballmer can muster.

Microsoft press-conferences are sort of reassurance events, where they tackle 101 things and say "There's lots of cool stuff going on out there, but don't worry WE ARE A PART OF IT AND CAN DO IT AS WELL".

Apple events are "You've all been doing it WRONG. This is what you want you dumb fucks".

Ballmer uses a Reality Amplification Field. It's the best the MS engineers could come up with.

Natal still screams "We have some cool tech, have fuck all idea what to do with it, but we are AN INOVATOR".

Outside of dashboard navigation I really think they are going to struggle to deliver the hype. E3 could be carcrash territory if it's a collection of penalty taking and pretending to drive a car.

But Balmer has reassured us that someone may come up with something in 'the next 10 years' though, so it's all good.

I loled ...

Panasonic does it again, introduces 152-inch 3D 4k HDTV

If that gigantic HDTV above looks a few inches shy of 152-inches, its because it is. While Panasonic has shared a few details about the existence of its new biggest HDTV ever (full release after the break) it has not been shown to the public yet. We imagine it'll look a lot like its little brother pictured above, after all, it features the same 4k resolution and a relatively unobtainable price. What will make a bigger difference then the extra two inches though is the fact that this one is will display 3D content. Panasonic is giving a sneak peak of their new stuff in a bit, so with any luck we'll get a real life picture of the new behemoth in action.

A buddy of mine at work is dying for Natal, and when I ask him why, he can't think of anything other than Netflix and dashboard navigation. :lol

"But it will be so cool!"

Yeah, and the game-changing hype could hang em.

They need a killer-app to validate Natal as something more than a Minority Report Enabler. And they are trying to retrofit that to the device. Going the opposite route of Nintendo where Wii Sports was developed hand-in-hand with the controller. One proved the other.

They have a self-imposed deadline with no guarantee of delivering anything. Nothing makes E3 more than an epic fail press conference ... </evil mode>

you promised onix. i am disappoint

:( I am as well.

As far as I know, they will have some sets using it this year, so it's weird given there's no summer CES.

The only thing I can think is that they simply didn't want to devote time in the keynote for it. While it's a huge deal for techies like us, it's probably a hard thing to sell without taking a lot of time to explain how it works? The keynotes are more for general consumption headlines, so it's possible prototypes will be on the floor.

Sharp didn't have a press conference I don't think (did they) ... so I fully expect they'll be showing off the tech on the floor. They were the main player in the R&D.
