Chicken Wings: Traditional or Boneless?

Boneless.

Traditional is anti science. I bet you traditional scumbags also like to drive manual cars with your greasy, buffalo sauce stained fingers and claim it's an art form. Disgusting.

Bone-in of course. Some may say they don't like the work in eating around a bone.

It's not work, it's an art form. A skill which must be honed to perfection.

I never really understood wings. There's very little meat and you end up covered with sauce. Give me boneless so I can use a fork, actually eat something and stay clean.

It's the taste that they're favored for.

If you're just trying to consume as much meat as you can, nuggets are admittedly the better choice.

I'll take boneless on occasion, especially since it is simpler to eat, but the best ones are always traditional. A few of us made the trip up to Buffalo in August for a combo wings/Niagara Falls trip after my sister saw the recent buzzfeed article about wings, she tried out the local one (J Timothy's), and with so many on the list being close together in Buffalo. Totally worth it, these are the ones we went to (and associated pictures from the article).

Duffs and J timothy's are good IIRC.

I'm pretty adept with it, actually.

I still can't quite get over people eating traditional wings w/ utensils. I have friends who use a knife and fork (same w/ pizza), but I feel like part of the appeal of wings is harkening back to our primal states and using our hands and being sloppy af. I certainly have no shame when wings and beer are available.

Boneless chicken wings aren't wings. They're chicken nuggets and they shouldn't be included in the same conversation.

Bone in.

Naked, not battered.

Fried, not baked. Almost to the point of being over done.

As for seasoning, I go through phases. I love traditional flavors (buffalo, honey garlic etc), but these days I'm in to lemon pepper or honey mustard.

Blue cheese dressing is a must.

"Boneless" buffalo wings is an oxymoron. You do not eat buffalo wings. You eat chicken nuggets.

Boneless wings aren't wings. Just admit that you like chicken nuggets.

Exactly.

Boneless.

I don't care if its fake. I don't care if its cooked human, frankly. It tastes good in ranch dip with a beer and thats all I care about.

I only do chicken boneless period.

while I like chicken overall, the veins that can sometimes come out of the bone into the chicken as I eat disturb me.

out of sight out of mind :P

plus they are just easier to eat, less messy, and I know exactly how much I am eating as if things aren't done right on bones (where the meat slides right off) I end up eating a lot less of stuff :/

Haha glad to see I'm not the only one like this. Bonless(in general) is the best for me.

i dont know what kind of chicken nuggets you guys eat, but boneless wings are more like small chicken tenders than chicken nuggets.

with that said, i ain't buying a bone if i can buy only meat. i'm boneless wings all the way. have fun chomping on a bone and possibly chipping a tooth.

Fine, you're eating chicken tenders, Mr. Fancypant.

Edit after your edit:
...Chomping on a bone? How exactly do you imagine people eat chicken wings?

Traditional you fools, what is wrong with you?

At first I read that as "Traditional fools, what is wrong with you?"

Apparently bones are icky and sauce will fuse to your skin forever if you attempt to touch a chicken wing.

boneless wings are glorified chicken nuggets (or literally chicken strips from somewhere like hardees or chik-fil-a) and you should be ashamed for preferring them. shame.

I would go with boneless as it provides more meat. If I don't have a choice I just cut it off the bone.

I hate messy food.

Who knew that people were such elitists when it came to chicken wings? Jesus.

And I'll eat either. Because it's all delicious.

I'll eat ribs with utensils, too. Again, I'm pretty good at it and will leave no meat or cartilage remaining on the bone while not touching it with my hands. I just don't like the feeling of sauce all over my hands.

Pizza, burgers, and other "dry" foods like that, though, I'll just use my hands.

If I want a chicken finger/tender then I would just order that with some sauce.

"Boneless wings" tend to usually be some small bullshit.
