Too bad Game of the Year edition is just marketing crap.

And give the option to warp to locations in Jak 2 rather than using the shitty overworld and cars, and it'll be perfect.
Better yet, Final Fantasy XII: International. Free money, Square. PLEASE.
BobsRevenge said:Why would they release Sly at $60? Don't they realize that almost no one actually cares about the games? I don't remember them being popular.
rhfb said:Well I guess this means software emulation will never happen then. My phat 60 better never die. Still if the ports and selections are good I'll be filling out my ps2 library with these titles.

TripOpt55 said:Well, more collections would be cool. I'd like a Jak trilogy collection(though including Jak X as well would be nice), a Ratchet collection and a Team Ico one. I could do without the extra barnding on the boxart though.

I think you're mistaken... the only clutter on there is that game art and logo on the front, I mean wtf is that? Takes up all the space and shit.Stumpokapow said:oh my god clutter
age rating, dev logo, publisher, logo, move circle sticker, classics hd swish, move bar, psn nub, psn logo, ps3 bar, clear plastic bar on top of case
WHERE'S THE 3D FEATURES STICKER?
I don't think the two are linked either. PS3 when it launched was burning money. They could have either keep the PS2 chip to do emulation or save an extra 25-30$ on costs. They choose to drop it.StuBurns said:GoW Collection was born out of a special edition questionnaire, it was intended primarily for fans of the series, not for people who never played it.
It might be a nice by-product of removing BC, but these HD Collections are not to rape the user base. I have a BC unit, have played both the GoW games and got the Collection, I have played both Ueda games, and will buy the Collection.
I'm not saying Sony are pure and honest, I'm sure they're as sick and twisted as any company that size, however, I do believe this one thing, HD Collections and the removal of BC is not directly connected and was not that premeditated and cynical.

imo.
You do have an excellent point. However, I'd argue if Sony think they can replicate those sales, they are mistaken. Team ICO probably will, and do better, but that is it. Sly certainly won't, and they have nothing else beyond GT that really has a chance, and I doubt they'd do GT before GT5, and after it wouldn't sell at all.shintoki said:I don't think the two are linked either. While as you said, the HD Collection was born from a strong user pull on what they wanted.
But, these two separate decisions also create a pretty shitty dilemma. It gives them a reason now not to make their system BC. GoW Collection sold 650k, More than Infamous, Heavy Rain, LBP, and others. New projects that probably were 20+million budgets vs an upscale on a last gen game with trophy support. It's the same shit with paying for XBL(Or for newer relevance, Online codes in new games only). It is the potential new standard that accompanies it.

sotc and ico are fucking overrated pieces of garbage.
StuBurns said:Sony this gen has had an awesome first party, but historically it's been decent quality and fully disposable beyond the Ueda stuff.

And is this game really getting Move support?

AranhaHunter said:Ideally they'd do collection up ports with HD graphics, trophies (and Move/3D support where possible), release PS2 games on PSN store with the same DRM as other games (not every PS2 game will be big enough to do a collection, ideally upscaled to improve graphics a bit) and release a Software Emulation solution for non BC consoles.
AAK said:Give it up, ICO + SOTC won't happen. I think Sony knows the demand and if it was possible they would've announced it already.

at least these ps2 games get better graphics and framerate, not to mention the better image quality and colour thanks to hdmi

It's important to note that the comment was said in regard to PS2 titles appearing on PSN. (This is GAF, after all; half of those who peruse this thread aren't going to click the link)
