jiggle said:would these be able to gameshared?
maybe that's why?
If I had to choose PSN version(IF this was the case...) which would be the original game or the retail version in HD+trophies and what not...I'd pay for the HD disk version. But i think they should later on sell the HD versions on PSN anyhow. PS2 games were mostly 4GB or less and wouldnt be that bad to DL.BattleMonkey said:Seeing as emulation makes them no money and doing these rereleases will, I don't see why they would bother with emulation.
PepsimanVsJoe said:It sounds great and all but Sony first party games bore me to tears. Unless something comes around where third parties would be willing to jump in on this there's nothing there for me.
Fuck it just give PS2 BC back. I'll learn to live without trophies and whatever whatever.
If money is that much of an issue just make me buy some disc to load into the PS3 before I can start playing PS2 games.

Not that I personally care anyway, I don't care about Team Ico's games, but it would be nice for the fans.
Aren't EA including remastered medal of honor game for the new medal of honor limited edition?XiaNaphryz said:Have we actually seen any HD remake collections that aren't first-party published? I can't see any third-party shelling out the money for doing these that aren't bare-bones efforts.
StuBurns said:GoW Collection was born out of a special edition questionnaire, it was intended primarily for fans of the series, not for people who never played it.
It might be a nice by-product of removing BC, but these HD Collections are not to rape the user base. I have a BC unit, have played both the GoW games and got the Collection, I have played both Ueda games, and will buy the Collection.
I'm not saying Sony are pure and honest, I'm sure they're as sick and twisted as any company that size, however, I do believe this one thing, HD Collections and the removal of BC is not directly connected and was not that premeditated and cynical.
So don't buy it when they bring out the Team Ueda collection next year?zoukka said:I don't want to see ICO on my FullHD television.

GatorBait said:How is the cropping going to be on these games when they port them to widescreen? I dislike the idea of cutting off parts of a game. I've been wary on buying the GoW collection because of that reason. The backgrounds and set pieces in those games are awesome and have a lot of character.
Anyone with GoW collection care to chime in?
Wasn't the GoW widescreen originally a pan and crop though? I can't confirm this as I don't have my discs at the moment.V_Ben said:those games had widescreen options in them from the start. There's no cropping involved whatsoever.

Third parties have already expressed strong interest (there was a Kotaku article about this) but Sony hasn't licensed the tech to them quite yet. Third parties want to get on board badly because it's like free money.H_Prestige said:PS4 with full PS2 BC will be out long before third parties ever get on board with this.

Yes there is. It's fake widescreen.V_Ben said:those games had widescreen options in them from the start. There's no cropping involved whatsoever.

There's a lot of detail that you miss out on with the original though. Some of the videos and screens posted by Digital Foundry were gorgeous looking.Panajev2001a said:1080p... they must do some nice filter/special FX becuase the game was basically designed with interlaced CRT TV's in mind.
Seriously, try to play the original ICO on the PS3 using a >32'' TV......

Team Ico is first party... and Sony's already making it.jetsetfluken said:The only problem I have is that it only seems to be first party properties only being used. Only so much that can be used and I really don't want to play the old Jaks and Ratchets again for example (well, I'd replay the lush platformer Jak 1, to hell with the "mature" later titles). That rules out stuff like the much-petitioned Team ICO Collection.
I would actually buy this. Being able to see what I'm doing would be a huge plus for those games. Also I don't actually own either of those games (played them through rentals).spats said:I think SOTC+Ico is a given, it's already been listed on retailer sites.
It looks pretty good on an emulator. Maybe I'm just blind.Panajev2001a said:Seriously, try to play the original ICO on the PS3 using a >32'' TV......
