So, this game or Goldeneye. I won't play online more than a couple of times, so that dosen't really matter.

edit: none of them has split screen co-op right?

Single player-wise, Goldeneye wins by leaps and bounds. Multiplayer (online) COD has it beat by leaps and bounds.

Goldeneye has had much more love thrown into it.

I played the Defector mission again, same level that crashed twice on me and it didn't crash at all, so I don't know what triggers the screen freeze.
I'm up to
Nam part 3, after the Russian base in the Urales
and my game has yet to crash. With problems also reported with loading in the MP reported at GFaqs, i believe this is one of the games that strains the disc reader, so people with dirty lens or full Wii main memory are experiencing constant problems.

My main memory is nearly empty as I keep all VC and Wiiware games and even some channels on the SD card. Disc lens, I never had problems with Smash Bros. I wonder why Black Ops would have problems and other games not?

Have you played Smash Bros recently?

cool and for singleplayer would you say reflex?

Goldeneye. lol

But Reflex had a more complete single player, co-op availability, and less technical issues. Then there's the whole "which game period do you like better". A lot of people liked MW's better.

Me? I play the single player campaigns on PC - frankly they look and play much better there. I purchase the Wii versions for their (more deep than all others on wii) multiplayer. The wii remote's precision works well in this situation, and until BO I did not have to listen to obnoxious teens talk about their weiners.

If you're looking for multiplayer, get BO. If you're looking for single player get Goldeneye (a much better game in that regard, even with it's COD-Lite online the single player is leaps better than what Treyarch and IW came up with for either COD).

Well that's odd and disappointing. How could Treyarch not manage to get all of the content from a game they were making, but could for a port of another teams work?! ESPECIALLY after they were going on about how we wouldn't believe this would be running on Wii and shiz. Treyarch. I am disappoint.

A team in total secrecy about a game that deals with secret operations being ecomical with the truth who would have thunk it? (sorry :() I am hoping tha tthe bit that were or had to be cut , didn't take anything away from the experience

I think I'm averaging (generously) 12 frames per second online, not including constant frame stuttering and lag spikes. Ugh...

The leveling system is keeping me going. I just wish the game was more enjoyable as an actual online shooter.

I've been stanning for GE multiplayer as I've at least had a lot of fun with it. Once you get the "flow" of the game, it really comes into it's own. I find that it plays a lot less like COD than I thought. Part of that has to do with me playing with Wiimote+Nunchuck config and not having to rely on ADS to make every shot.

Honestly I wouldn't have known much was missing if I hadn't seen that vid. It's just odd to me, that's all. Not really cursing Treyarch to hell or anything as I am enjoying the game!

No complains here. is running better than what MW:R or WaW ever did since the lag shooting is greatly reduced. Maybe the lag dependent FPS is the consequence of having client hit detection. BTW, my connection isn't great (4Mb/S DSL) and i live in Latin America...

FINALLY got this today and I must say I'm quite impressed.

Jumped into a private match to tweak controls a little, which took less time than expected to get a decent setup. Next I tried Combat training with 9 bots (3 on my team, 6 on theirs). Tried all the default classes to get used to the game and was surprised how difficult the bots were even on normal difficulty. Found out the default sniper is rubbish (or I'm rubbish?).

Next I tried the classic controller. Wow. It gets so close to mirroring the 360 controls...so close. Obvious differences being the lack of analogue stick click, so Run is set to the Sprint button (by default), so you tap it while sprinting to jump or when not moving at all to jump. The other difference is holding your breath (which would have been left stick click), it gets put onto the other L button, which means to zoom in then hold breath, you somehow have to hold both the L buttons...which is difficult...but doable.

From the leaderboards there's over 18,000 people (6000 online when I was on). Not noticed any frame dropping yet, but I haven't tried proper online mode yet.
Edit: For comparison - there's 1,549,904 players on the leaderboards for WaW and 1,006,956 on Reflex - a lot of them hackers though...)

The multiplayer is almost unplayable now. Just finished a game with single digit fps. Would've quit if I wasn't hosting. I might switch back to Reflex if this goes on.

My experience with the game has been really positive. Impressions at the main thread here.

The Wii version does have issues that shouldn't have passed by though. Sometimes it takes a while to connect and you have to alter your profile name to sign on (which you can then change back).

Also, sometimes (rarely, but still...) the game "forgets" how to pick up care packages or weapons. It will prompt you to "Hold Unbound to Pick Up..." and you have to change your control options to fix this (and then you can change them back). Also, lag, but Wii isn't the only platform facing this right now. Fortunately, Treyarch already fixed the problem where the footsteps weren't making noise (on all platforms).

You don't need to change your profile name, just create a second one and switch to it, then back and you can log in fine. A bit annoying but nothing major, really. Oh, and yes Gamingeek, i had a crash at the 'ending cinematic', my first and only. Edit: That isn't the ending cinematic, is just a very long cut-scene... I replayed it from the mission slection menu and it ran fan.

And for the people with connection problems, i dunno, Try to setup a DMZ?

Goldeneye got the crash/freeze screen last night for some reason. I would say it's just my Wii then, but since several people here have had Black Ops Wii freeze, I don't know what to make of it - except that they are both Activision games.

360/Wii - X-Ray level Comparison (chopper to the ship)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mjz_ABqxJYo

I'm torn about this. It's sad and frustrating that close to 5 minutes was cut from Wii version. However its acceptable that the choppers would be brought down so quickly on approach. However the fight in the chopper on the 360 versions looks like a LOT of fun. I tend to like turret gameplay. If I'm ever going to pick up the Wii version at some point I think that's the last comparison video, at least between the Wii and 360/PS3 I watch when it comes to this game.

Don't worry, you get to control a chopper for a sizable amount of time in the wii version.

It's definitely not that impressive looking, but it's still light years ahead of the ugly Wii version.

true i guess lol, I think Reflex is the better looking Wii version, maybe Black ops just has bigger enviroments etc still need to get into this more have to finnish golden eye first.. Still from I hear the Online play is an improvement hope the Wii version is the same

Anyone wanna help me do a video showcasing the stupidly high aim assist (scratch that, is plain auto-aim) with the CCP present in this game? (I still prefer the Wii-mote).

Well picked up the game sooner then I'd like. Not going to be opening it though until I finish GoldenEye's single player. This also gives me time in case I change my mind and want to return it. Mainly wanted some different online to keep things interesting. So I'll be going back and forth between the two games. Didn't get the headset though. Local gamestop was out but then again I don't really want it. I think I'm pretty good about being a team player by back up team mates when I see them going in another direction or protecting them when they're taking an objective. Noticed players in GE tend to act that way at times without voice chat. Verbal is nice but not always needed. That and I don't want to deal with little kids or even adults cursing in my ear. So voice will be muted since I believe I read that, so no need for the head set in the end.

I agree. I played the PC version and chopper-vs.-chopper combat isn't anything to write home about. The missiles are dumbfire so you have to lead your target and account for the fact that your crosshair does not equal where the missiles go. I redid the section in one mission where you fight a chopper so many times. Plus I felt like I was fighting the controls all the time: you don't use WASD for a chopper.

My brother later told me that if you pretend you're on a level plane (no way to go up/down), it's easier.

Come to think of it, I had a lot of trouble with MoH's vehicle segment too.

I much prefer on-rail segments: you get the satisfaction of blowing stuff up without having to fight the controls.

Just beat it. Aside from a framerate chugs, its a very enjoyable singleplayer. Though I enjoyed Goldeneye much more.

Multiplayer is pretty smooth. I am impressed and I used to play Reflex a lot. I hope Goldeneye eventually gets as smooth as this in multiplayer.

Weird. Nothing major, but it's annoying. Worse is the "unbound" problem. Because if you want to plant a bomb in SND or pick up a weapon, if you find out you have the problem, you have to change your controls that instant if you want to proceed. I really hope that can be fixed.

Is the somewhat low number online really felt? Long times waiting for matches to fill, etc?

Can you just pop right into the online without touching the single player as well? Or does it act as a tutorial?

How are the difficulty levels? Is it a difference of AI getting better or just more enemies or like GoldenEye where there are more objectives?

Is there keyboard support to send messages or only voice?

No, there's no wait time unless you are trying to play prestige matches, etc. Host fumble is a far bigger problem.

And finally, we have our first Wii screens.
