SEC West with 5 teams in the top 15

Auburn 1
LSU 8
Bama 10
Arkanasas 12
Mississippi State 15

Yay, top 10 finish, NCAA 11 Recruit Promise FULFILLED

How Ole Miss won a game, I don't know.

Wait, they only beat Kentucky (in the SEC)

I realize that Bama is probably better than Oklahoma State, but I'm still miffed that two 3-loss SEC teams finished ahead of us. Our only losses were to a Nebraska team with Martinez at full strength and to an OU team that finished #6 (and both were close games).

I'm probably late with this but I laughed at TCU getting a first place vote in the coaches poll. Isn't that against the rules?

Since when do rules matter in college football? Pryor and Newton playing in their bowl games pretty much ruins all credibility in the sport.

SC was lucky to be Not as Terrible as the rest of the East.

FLUKE Win over Bama, they faded HORRIBLY as the season went on.
I don't think I've seen anyone on GAF as bitter over a loss as you are about South Carolina. Your guys just got outplayed in every aspect of that game. Sorry!

:lol :lol :lol

That's Thayer Evans, one of the journalists that's been writing bad things about Cammy for weeks.

I just won't believe it was an honest win, when the same team can't beat an ACC team.

Is ANYBODY but Auburn fans happy with yesterday's result? I can't think of a time when a national champion was more disliked or hated, and that includes some of those Miami teams that were full of complete a-holes.

No way. As much as the Newton thing bugs me, it happens all the freaking time in college football. Miami just flat out sucks.

LoL. Michigan athletic department is pushing a contest to win a seat at the presser where the new coach is announced.

Looks like it's probably going to be Miles. I look forward to welcoming our new 60-pushing, grass-eating, oversigning, clock-managing HC!

Michigan to beat OSU on a drop kick with no time left confirmed.

P.S. On the flight home from his meeting with Les Miles, Michigan AD Dave Brandon had his plane alter it's flight path so that it did not go over Ohio. That sound you hear is Woody Hayes' decomposing body chuckling.

Everything went down about how I expected. Congrats, Plainsmen.

With all of the early draft entries and team turnover in the SEC, the offseason should be fun.

A 14-point victory in a game with two healthy teams and an even turnover margin isn't an "honest win"?

Can't find the post talking about MNC game ratings now, but here's SI's take on them:

The preliminary television rating for the BCS title game is down 12 percent from last year.

Auburn's last-second 22-19 win over Oregon on Monday night drew a 16.1 overnight rating on ESPN. Last season's Alabama-Texas game earned an 18.2 on Fox, which is available in about 15 percent more homes.

This year's ratings were also hurt by a matchup of two programs with less tradition and national appeal than a year ago.

In the game's first year on cable, it drew the highest cable overnight rating since records began being kept in 2001. The previous high was a 14.4 for last season's Patriots-Saints "Monday Night Football" game on ESPN.

The 16.1 beat two recent BCS titles games: a 15.6 for LSU-Ohio State in 2008 and a 14.6 for USC-Oklahoma in 2005.

I figured the ESPN deal would lead to some decrease in ratings.

...where's Ohio State on this list?

Or is he assuming Pryor jumps ship?
I'm inside bw3 eating so I didn't get to hear only saw the list on the screen. So not sure, but there's no way tp is declaring, I just don't see it

Robert smiths 2011 top 5 is

5: tam
4: Oregon
3; bama
2: Fsu
1: Oklahoma

Just stop >:(

The highest I want to see my Noles ranked is #10. I'd prefer #15. We are losing a true leader in a Sr. QB and a consensus All-American OL (Hudson). The defense still needs a lot of work too.

EDIT: Maybe the pollster just wants to see an early season #1 vs #2 (OU v. FSU)? The sooners are coming to Tally in week 2.

I ain't mad at em. They beat our team once in a very close game and later gave us a thrashing in the SEC championship. If we're going to get owned like that I'm glad it was the NC who did it.

If anybody needs a good laugh right now, here ya go

couldn't be texas a&m could it? Hey did anyone see the final ESPNU rankings?

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Boise State
4. Texas
5. Florida

Good to see Texas ends with another top 5 finish in the ultra credible ESPNU fan rankings. We had a 5 win season and finished with a #4 ranking.

Wow. It's hard to believe that it's time to start looking forward to the 2011 football season. I still haven't wrapped my head around the fact that the NCAA cancelled the 2010 season before it started, but we're finally over the dead period and back on track for some college football!

The All Encompassing Death Penalty of 2010 was just such a destructive sanction that I don't think the NCAA can ever use it again.

I really don't know if the sport will recover, but, by God, Country, and Queen (for the British fan), we'll do our damnedest to soldier on.

Some guy from the Chattanooga Free Press has us #2 behind Oklahoma also. I think we'll start in the top 10 especially after we finish 1 or 2 in the recruiting rankings.

First Harbaugh, now Miles.

So much for Michigan Men™ leading the program back to its former glory.

Well considering Brady Hoke is probably the leading candidate for the job right now the whole Michigan Man still holds true. So please GTFO. No one even believes in this stupid Michigan Man shit anyway. It was just a way for people who hated the RichRod hire to complain.

Edit: Someone just came up with Hokeamania on MLive :lol

Damn! Lol Miles would have at least brought some extra laughter to TSUN. Right now, it's just sad.

Bah, who am I kidding? Meechigan is getting exactly what they deserve and if I laughed at them any harder, I'd have to get hernia surgery.

Yep, that's why I'm scratching my head.

We are gonna have a very good team next year (Texas A&M)..... we lose only 3 players off our 2 deep that actually played so virtually the whole team will be back. Then remember last year was year 1 of our new DC and we were vastly improved on defense so imagine how much better we will be when he actually has a offseason to work with them and all of next year.

That said 5 is too high to start but we should start next year around 10 (and most of the other prediction polls are putting us there)
