Yeah, the gimmick and cutesy plays they run don't work against the real deal. In fact, it pretty much is a contributing factor in their loss.

They lost on a last second FG. Oregon had just as much offensive success as Auburn. Are they gimmicky and cutesy too? Hell, are the New England Patriots? The West Coast offense was a "gimmick" at one point, too, replacing 300 pound offensive lineman with smaller, quicker guys, and setting up the run with the pass. Gimmick?

Yeah, with Florida's coach gone and Myles likely taking a trip to Michigan, two of the powerhouses will be in disarray (or in Florida's case, continue to be in disarray). UGA is a question mark. Seems like AU, UA, SC, and Miss State (lol) are the only sure-fire teams that will be above average.

AU's losing Cam, Fairley, and the O-Line. Lots of Seniors

UA's losing Julio and starting a new QB. New QB's are always shaky. Losing Ingram and Dareus is not as tough as losing Julio.

SC isn't playing Alabama, so no career days from them.

LSU might lose Miles, and that might be a good thing for them. Plus, getting a solid JUCO QB in Metts.

I personally think Florida will operate better offensively with a pro-style offense. Might not run the ball as well, but their QB fits that better. No QB Dive plays from him can only be a good thing.

UGA is going down. No more AJ Green ends them until they find some sort of identity.

I know this is a losing argument for me. I again just think that Auburn will be cleared. I do think what Cecil did was terrible though.

Auburn will be cleared of what? The NCAA won't seriously investigate this, but based on what we know already, Cam should not have been playing.

No man, college football is a 300 LB player's game. That's why that cutesy gimmick TCU team got blown out by a superior sized Wisconsin meat eating grown men team.

I think Bama will be fine. Saban asks less from his quarterbacks than any coach, and they'll give Trent Richardson the Ingram treatment.

SC will be favorites in the East. Stephen Garcia continues his Chris Rix trolling tour.

UGA just needs to stick to the run. They have the backs.

They are a great school. I know from experience. I know it all seems like "SEC corn eatin beer drinking sister rapin" shenanigans to people who see us on TV, but Auburn is a great college and again I just can't see them willfully doing something like this. It's bit them in the ass in the past and I just feel like fool me once.. you know? And this is far past a love for a football team or a conference.

They fucking took Prop 48 kids for a while. Let me say that again P R O P 4 8 kids.

Fucking lame. Had to go take care of something so I paused the game on my tivo at the end of the third quarter. Came back later to watch it and the fucking TiVo didn't record it despite me telling it to. Loaded up the xbox to stream the last quarter but it wasn't ready for replay yet. But the highlight of Cam's speech was. So yeah, didn't get to watch what looked like (from the highlights) an exciting 4th quarter. Oh well. Fucking TiVo. It never screws anything up, but of course the first time would be tonight.

How the frick is Garcia not a senior already? Seems like he has been at SC for ages!
It's 'cause you assumed he was over 21 when he got in that fight at a bar.

He was a freshman.

SC was lucky to be Not as Terrible as the rest of the East.

FLUKE Win over Bama, they faded HORRIBLY as the season went on.

Alabama will be the most talented team in the SEC, but still, New Starting QB... But I am excited at the possibilities.

AU's losing Cam, Fairley, and the O-Line. Lots of Seniors but just won a NC (which will boost recruiting) and will keep all key staff members (and Chizik's staff seemed to be good at recruiting even before the NC). It's possible they could go into a Tebow-like depression, but only one year of Cam makes me think that's unlikely.

UA's losing Julio and starting a new QB. New QB's are always shaky. Losing Ingram and Dareus is not as tough as losing Julio. but they're freakin' Bama and have that asshat Saban behind them

SC isn't playing Alabama, so no career days from them. They went to the sEC championship. now the fans have a taste of what it feels like to win. They can probably even say "win" now without having their faces contort in weird ways. They'll put pressure on Spurrier to keep receiving this odd thing from other teams they've come to identify as "respect".

LSU might lose Miles, and that might be a good thing for them. Plus, getting a solid JUCO QB in Metts. okay you've got a point here. no more bounce passes from the the holder to the kicker where clouds divide and the light of heaven shines down on the field resulting in yet another 'W' for the Tigers

Probably only in Portland. The smug duck fans there probably put them up to watching the game in the first place. I wish I still lived up there just to I can watch the bitter tears flow.
Dude. Get the fuck out. Even bringing hipsters bullshit into this? Gah.

Some UGAg friends just posted that they were cheering SEC in downtown Athens. Not sure if shameless is the right word for it.

The Mets of the SEC need to hang their hat on someone else's success.

wait Alabama is starting a new QB? I thought whatthefuckishisname was only a Junior? Is he leaving to do that Rhodes Scholar thing?
Graduating, mane. He sat behind the immortal John Parker Wilson for 2 years.

Recruiting bonuses don't come into effect until the following recruiting Class, Dali. Alabama's is finishing strong on this year's class, as it's the one after the BCS championship.

There WILL be a decline of a couple games, for a team that has 24 Senior players. It's just rational thought, especially if you also throw in the 2 best players on the team leaving (barring an Andrew Luck/Tebow moment)

Yes, new Alabama QB. Ginger was a RS Senior. It's up to a RS Sophmore or RS Freshman. Hyper Talented, but...new.

VY and the refs had the most dominating BCS performance of all time. Not to mention, this game was close until the very end and could have hit OT if not for the lucky Dyer run. How can a game be that close and yet still be so boring?

Fixed.

So I wonder who wins the SEC aka National Championship next year! I'll say Ole Miss

It was nice having the SEC Championship game being the National Championship game, but man, the fucking SEC East last year....

wow, it's now "last year" :/

When does A-Day Game happen????

Of course there'll be a decline. I simply said the teams I listed were the ones I saw as being above average in the SEC next year. I wasn't saying anything about repeat contenders for national championships.

I really don't see any of the SEC teams being national title contenders next year.

Then again, I thought Bama would just roll (no pun intended) through their schedule and win the national title. And nobody said Auburn coming.

Wouldn't be the first time.

Just think if USC won against Texas you guys would have had to vacate 2 national championships. that would have been a dynasty vacated. Fortunately Vince Young and Lendale White kept that from happening.

Next year is OSU's year. Damn shame every SEC team will have at least two losses. I was looking forward to the BCS title streak continuing. You know it'd be inevitable. Even with super veteran Pryor and a win over an SEC team in a bowl game under their belt, the outcome would be the same old song.

That right there has to be the most unsatisfying end to a college season ever. We knew one team was scum going in and they still won. Vacating their win, and it should get vacated down the line, won't make up anything for the Ducks who ran a clean program and didn't play dirty. The bad guys won tonight, and it totally sucks.

Pretty much all of America is pissed right now. :lol

They could actually drop a game, perhaps "Game 5" of the suspensions (Think that's Michigan State).

Heck, OSU might actually be penalized in the pre season polls for this very reason. Maybe.

So a 2 loss LSU vs. Ohio State? so basically you are saying a 6th MNC for the SEC next year

I tend to agree with this. They should be preseason #1 straight up assuming the Tattoo 5 all keep their word.

Oregon pretty much has every skill position player back next year except the Maehlman. :*( Paysinger's a senior as well, right? Would love to see Oregon make it back and smack that asshat Pryor in the face.

No offense Buckeye fans. Y'all are good folk, and your stadium is the best in the country (that I've been in). Pryor is just an asshat.

I am definitely excited for Oregon next season. We've proven our chops and can only get better. Though, the loss of Jeff Maehl is gonna hurt bigtime.

I really like Darron Thomas. There are times (like this game) where he becomes hesitant, but I feel like that experience will take care of that in due course.

Nah it's not God hate it's people thinking God cares about football and that they won because they were more righteous or whatever.
Can I straighten this out for good, because this pisses me off. People thank God when they win NOT because they think God somehow preordained them to get a victory; instead, they're basically thanking God for giving them the talents/tools which they used to win.
