Arky's defense is suspect but their offense is high speed. Will you guys keep up in a shoot out? Not being snarky, genuinely curious.
For what it's worth, we managed to shut down a high-powered Oregon offense last year.

I really don't know what to expect. I think we're perfectly capable of winning, but it's hard to gauge the mental state of the team. And I think that's going to be the real determining factor.

When was the last time Ohio State beat an SEC team bowl or otherwise?

On the off chance that this wasn't a joke post...

tOSU is 0-9 vs the SEC in bowls. They did beat LSU in 1988 during the regular season.

As well as the NFL Network games :/

Sloppy game by OU but thank God they finally got a BCS game. Stoops you have got to fix your special teams. It's killed you for three years now.

I sort of think running that quick no huddle stuff hurts them from a physicality standpoint. Whatever. Won the conference. Won the Fiesta. Longhorns at home crying in their cornflakes that they got smoked by ISU. A good year of CFB.

Wondered what happened to the CB that wanted to cover Julio..

Damn, it was a bad day for the B1G SLOW today ... I was rooting for TCU though, and that was a great game to watch.

Crazy that Texas is basically the worst major football team in the state of Texas :lol

UNT has been the worst FBS program for the past 5 years in Texas but what really opened my eyes was the match-up UT and UNT had in common which was Kansas State. We lost to K-state by 25, and UNT lost to K-State by 8. Just one of those seasons man...

hey does anyone know if threeballz still plays football for TCU? was he on the rose bowl team today? I know he got banned 3 or 4 years ago so surely he has graduated college now...

I saw a pretty good comment on a blog today which I think explains OUs offensive issues in big games. In the Stoops era, they've only had 2 skill position guys who just scared the hell out of opposing Ds: Mark Clayton and Adrian Peterson.

Lots of guys who are good, but not great. I think that is what gets the Big10 as well.

Well, Alabama's been living off of Bear Bryant for 30 years. I don't see anything wrong about living off of AD.

UNT's only offense was Dunbar and K State nearly let him rush for 300 yards. And K State started all of their drives at least at their own 40.

Too bad we hired another dud of a coach that won't turn this program around. The new stadium will be empty.

Yes. Early Doucet, Demetrius Byrd, and Jacob Hester were quite terrifying.

OU in 2000 won with a great D and no play-makers. Not that it can't or doesn't happen frequently. But we are seeing the Big1G speed issues being exposed, and that has what has mostly killed OU in BCS games.

BSU was choke of course, and no denying that there are signs of preparation issues. The argument is that OU is usually going to lose when paired against an athletic team, and it's best to savor win like yesterday, even if against a flawed opponent.

Why the hell am I hearing rumors that some asshat is trying to take the Pirate King's rightful throne in Maryland?

Did anyone else see the Fiesta Bowl last night? Or that asshat lost to Temple? TEMPLE!

Maryland, do the right thing, give the Pirate King his throne. Students, start protesting now.

Just saw this on the ESPN rumor mill.

Despite having to promise to return to school in order to be allowed to play in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, at least one of the Ohio State Five might not follow through, junior QB Terrelle Pryor hinted on Saturday. Pryor and junior WR DeVier Posey have both said all along, and reiterated again, that they planned to stay in Columbus, but junior RB Dan Herron and junior LT Mike Adams have been conspicuously silent. (The fifth player, reserve DE Solomon Thomas, was never going anywhere.)

In fact, Herron was replaced by sophomore FB Zach Boren at Saturday's media session, prompting Doug Lesmerises of the Cleveland Plain Dealer to wonder if Herron might be whom Pryor was referring to when he said, "It's important to keep your word, but at the same time, some guys have different situations, and I think some guys pledged and some guys, you know, we were just basically saying sorry. I know other guys are in different situations. I can't really think that if they would choose to leave they were breaking the pledge, because I don't say automatically. I think some guys have different situations."

I always liked boom he became a big time crowd favorite over the past 2 years, and I would really disappointed for him to go. But we are crazy deep at RB so it wont hurt that bad.

Well Maryland, have fun with the next 5 years with this headline in the preseason: "Is this the year Coach Asshat leads the Terps all the way?" followed with "Close, but no cigar for the Terps, once again." Just enough to not get Asshat fired, but never satisfying.

See: Al Groh at Virginia.

Edsall resides in Glastonbury, Connecticut with his wife, Eileen, and two children, Lexi and Corey. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he was a backup quarterback and later offensive coordinator for the team. Edsall is known for being the final dagger to Maryland football.

Off of Edsall's wiki.

Need to find out why alot of people call him asshat

RBR's having a field day with action shots from the game. Here's our puny 3rd-string tackle. Not seen: Gentry subsequently lighting him on fire and praying to Satan by the pyre.

Chiefs have confirmed that Weis is coming to UF. Now supposedly Florida DB Cody Riggs tweeted then deleted that Kirby Smart is coming to be DC.

We're losing Bolden in addition to the possibility of Bradley and whoever he would take with him?

Oh man this sucks. McGloin almost had 4 ints before the half and he should have been pulled. If this goes down, it will make it that much harder in recruiting.

Oh well, maybe this will help things with Paul Jones.

Whatever Bolden you fucking bitch, if you showed even hint of ability to move the offense you wouldn't even been benched. Stop being a butthurt emo and work on getting better instead of crying yourself to sleep

Georgia fans will be super salty if this is true.

Smart has been rumored for a few weeks now. Great hire. I think Weis could be dangerous though. I see clashes coming.

Rumors lately have been surrounding Seahawks DL coach Dan Quinn for the last week. I'm not believing the Smart rumor yet.

Yeah he needs a reality check. The offense came to a halt when he was on the field. Sitting the last half of the year was necessary

Loved this quote from the Detroit Free Press' postgame coverage:

It is hard to pinpoint exactly when this Capital One Bowl started going poorly for Michigan State, but it was probably the moment Alabama defensive end Marcell Dareus was born.
:lol

I'll be posting a few photos from the Bama-MSU bowl game hopefully soon. I'm just waiting for my friend to email me them. I was hungover on New Years, woke up late and forgot my camera. D'oh!

Our group had a good time at the game, even though MSU didn't show up.:lol There were a ton of MSU fans there too. I've would've been pissed if I had traveled all the way from Michigan, only to watch my team lay an egg like that.

Tori Girley, the other WR on USCe, is leaving early for the pro's. No one else has heard of him, so I'll put this here, maybe someone will tell us who he is.

Maybe MSU did a good job of making them look great, but that Alabama team was one of the most loaded college teams (in pure talent at the skill positions) I have seen in awhile. It's hard to believe they lost to 3 teams this year.

That's about the only thing I have taken away from the college bowl season thus far. It has been a pretty unremarkable year. The Big 10 failure is a story, but anyone that has followed the season can't be shocked by that.

Inexperience DBs doomed the Tide this year. Doesn't help that South Carolina played its best game in a decade against them. That front 7 was pretty loaded as well. A damn shame.

I know McElroy's somewhat of an easy target by some, but a Bama QB (much less a Saban one) will never be one that's asked to take over a game with his arm.

Easy for a fan to say. It's been proven again and again the NFL isn't exactly adept at properly ranking QB talent. You have to have the abilities and be at the right place at the right time.

When there's that much at stake I can't fault anyone for doing anything to move the odds in their direction.

That, and almost nobody in the front 7 had two good ankles until the bowl game. Dareus and Upshaw (our two best pass rushers) limped through most of the season.

I love Frank Beamer. I like Bud Foster. Thus, I've always rooted for VaTech.

But God damn if your uniforms aren't ugly, man. The white helmets in your av are the best ones they've ever worn. :lol
