You guys are in the "better not fuck up bowl" that Bama played in in 2009. Good luck!

Little different situation. They "earned" their way in, not blow the last game of the year and fall into a bowl they clearly didn't care about like Bama did that year.

That's a bull shit excuse and I refuse to accept it. Instead, I'll blame Saban for keeping Andre Smith home because he did not realize that as long as the player didn't know his family member was committing a NCAA infraction the player's not culpable. We pay him $4m/year to know this shit!

C'mon, Bucks. Time to get this stupid SEC stigma off our backs.

I definitely think we're capable of beating Arkansas. Should be a fun game.

I think so too, Arkansas defense isnt very good, our secondary will need to step it up, but I think they can.

Great, now we're in one of those games. Something that shouldn't mean as much as the media and fans will make it out to be just because we were too scared to play them. Son of a bitch. Who's the dumbass who canceled the games again? Moron.

Woooooooo lets go Sugar Bowl, beat the hogs!

Got My plane tix to New Orleans already, I really hope thats where we go. :lol
Time to root for my Big Ten brothers! Let's go Big Ten. Penn State definitely can beat Florida, but it could go either way. Hopefully Iowa can take down Missouri, although I find that hard to believe with the way they finished. MSU will have to play their best game to beat Alabama.

Iowa must really hate the fact that Penn State is going to a better bowl than them, even though they beat us :lol

Next year I'll make sure to start doing the pick em at the beginning so I have a fighting chance.

Seems like it was a combo of Hamilton and Dooley. At the time were to have OCC games at Cincy and at UNC Hamilton didn't want to lose the money from having 1 less game away from Neyland. Dooley probably figured we would still be terrible and for his job security wanted anything that would make the schedule lighter. Hamilton wanted to delay the series with UNC for 1 year and switch the order of the Cincy game. UNC declined so Hamilton decided to cancel it, strangely enough I think Cincy agreed to change the home and home order after that happened so we ended up with an extra home game next year.

You were capable of winning every single one of the ones you lost. It just never happens. And besides beating Arkansas wouldn't really end the streak they aren't even an SEC team.

Eh, Iowa's gotten picked higher than they should've enough times and they threw this year away badly enough that I can't begrudge Penn State or Michigan going to better bowls.

I love how everyone acts like we never win bowl games. We got blown out in two of our three title games and took some much-deserved crap for it, but we're still 5-3 in BCS games, tying us with Florida and USC (pre-sanctions) for most BCS wins. So stop acting like we're Oklahoma, because we're not.

And please explain how Arkansas isn't an SEC team.

Ugh, I kept reading we would play Alabama. I kept refusing to believe it. And its true =((

Can't wait to see Julio Jones abuse Chris L. Rucker and watch as Kirk Cousins literally gets killed. What a nightmare scenario

Edit:

Why couldn't they have scheduled Wisconson vs. Stanford? Both teams could just as easily be undefeated. That was my most anticipated game of the year =(

BertramCooper said:

They are a member of the SWC.

Edit: And I don't know much about OSU in bowl games. I have watched them 4 times. Against UT in like 97, vs. Miami, vs. FL, and when they played LSU last time

TCU is too, so it won't be embarrassing if Wiscy loses to them right?

No. Hell that is probably the game I am looking forward to the most.

In fact it seems like there will actually be some good BCS games this year (on paper at least) and since OU tends to choke in BCS games even the UCONN/OU game might be close.

Any game UConn is playing in is a bad game no matter if it's close. They have the worst coach/QB combo in the nation and it leads to infuriatingly incompetent play.

So, word is Temple is one of the two teams being left out of a bowl game.

Temple is 8-4, and guess who was one of their 8 wins?

If you guessed Big East champ UConn, who are going to a BCS bowl, you win an e-cookie. :lol

Got a source for those?
Another fun fact:

Charlie Strong blanked a BCS Bowl team in his first year as head coach :lol

I guess the South really is two decades behind the rest of the country. :lol

We've been pretty damn good against everyone except the SEC, which is why I'm so anxious to beat an SEC team. And I think Arkansas is one we can definitely beat.

@tomshatelOWH - This just in: sources say Neb will play Wash in Holiday. Insight apparently passed on Neb. More details to follow.

I love it.

Nebraska fell all the way 5th place Big 12 bowl..

don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. :lol

No we just view Ark and USCe the same way baseball fans view expansion teams. Plus no one in the SEC actually likes Arkansas.

Well, Pac-10 got a whole lotta 'time to put up or shut up' this bowl season.

1) Auburn vs Oregon - Oregon better show up this year unlike the embarrassment last year vs Ohio State

2) Stanford vs Va Tech - If Stanford loses to a team that lost to James Madison after ~many folks were saying was the best one loss team in the country that no one wants to play, they'll set the Pac 10 back almost as far as Oregon getting blown out by Auburn... And Va Tech is playing scary good lately...

3) Oklahoma State vs Arizona - Arizona riding a 4 game losing streak gets to play one of the most explosive offenses in the nation.

4) Nebraska vs Washington - The rematch EVERYONE wanted to see :lol. The most embarrassing out of conference loss for the PAC-10 (yes worse than Cal @ Nevada) and the game that exposed Jake Locker. Maybe Washington can keep it under a 30 point beatdown?

I dunno about "put up or shut up" besides the Stanford game. They had better win that. Arizona will and should be an underdog and probably has little will whatsoever after the end of their season, and Washington? :lol I'm gonna predict a 24 pt loss there.

Oregon and Stanford are the big ones. They better show up.

Arkansas is going to be the stiff challenge with their passing attack.

I personally think Oregon is going to get smoked, mostly because Auburn is better in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

A little call from the Big-12 offices saying, "Nah, Don't do them ANY favors."

God if OU loses to UCONN . . . I'd probably feel worse about the season than UT fans. I fucking hate this. It's just like that Boise game. Absolutely nothing to gain, other than not embarrassing themselves. Again.

FIGHT! :D

How does everyone in Sparta feel about Saban these days?

No outstanding ill will. Dantonio has had more wins in his first three seasons at MSU head coach than Saban did, and it looks like Dantonio won't bolt at the next big check from another school. This game is a great chance to show that MSU will be a contender under Dantonio.

A loss to UConn can propel you to greatness! We lost to them last year in the Pizza Bowl and then came back this season to make it to the SEC Championship game
only to get absolutely destroyed by Auburn who will one day have to give the trophy back those freaking punks they kicked out tails I hate Cam Newton please go pro next year
.

I cant believe we have to fucking playing Washington again. What a shitty ass bowl thats going to be. Plus we have to play them again in our second game next year.

I'm so psyched UConn made it to a BCS game. Awesome. Though I do hope they end up in the Orange bowl by some crazy turn of events. I might actually be able to make it down there for it.

It's pretty stupid, actually. That should be Boise St. playing in that game. Nobody but UConn fans can be happy about that one.

And if not UConn's spot, Boise definitely deserves Va Tech's spot. AQ teams ruin everything. Losing to an FCS team should disqualify you for BCS bowling.

Debating whether or not I want to drive from Houston to El Paso to go see the Irish play.

With both teams the way they are it's more like Christmas Catholics vs. Parolees.

More I think about the matchup more depressed I get, its like a JV teams at this point

Another chance for Washington to get smoked by Nebraska and another trip to San Diego for the Holiday bowl for the Huskers...we did it to ourselves. :(

LMAO Washington Huskies getting paired up with Nebraska in the Holiday bowl. That 56-21 drubbing at Husky Stadium was not an accident. The Huskies have one win over a bowl eligible team, a bad Big East team in Syracuse. They were the beneficiaries of the worst backup QBs playing in place of competent starters in UCLA and Cal. I love how pumped up these local Huskies fans are about going to San Diego. Nebraska will give a big F-you back to the Big 12 and wipe their butts with Locker's helmet. :lol

I dont know why Insight would pass on Nebraska, they are some of the best traveling fans of any team. Plus, a look at what next years beginning of a new rivalry would have been great and a great way to gain some attention.

As a Husky alum, I am so pumped for sports. Going to our first bowl game, and Kemba Walker dominating on the court. :D :D

I can hear the fight song already:D

Utah's QB is injured and they're going to have to start Terrance Cain in the bowl. Bosie should be favored by 17.
Utah's QB sucks ass anyway. Boise going to tear them a new one and i'll enjoy every minute of it.

UConn to a BCS game...and Nebraska demoted to December 30th.

nobody who likes college football can find any of this acceptable. fuck.

most of those will be tough games for the Big Ten. but we'll pull out most of them.

GO BIG TEN.

It really sucks that Nebraska and Boise St. are out of BCS bowls while Va Tech and UConn are in. It's stupid, really.

Pretty simple.

Insight Bowl wants to keep its relationship with the Big 12 strong.. not to mention, they are going to be trying to sell a game that will be a division matchup starting next year if they pit Nebraska vs. Iowa.

The Holiday bowl is all kinds of butthurt at the demotion they got in the off season to the Big 12 5 from the Big 12 3.

What's the story with the Holiday Bowl losing their prestige? It's been my favorite early bowl game for years.

Cash Money.

Alamo Bowl stepped up with a *huge* payday.

The Alamo Bowl is now the Big 12 number 3 (behind Fiesta and Cotton) and Pac 10 number 2.

It's also been moved to a January 1st game. It's going to take a few years to get used to, but the Alamo Bowl is now a big boy bowl.

Lattimore is gonna rape us. Jimbo's most wanted recruit last cycle.. I am sure he isn't happy about having to face him. :lol

Great, UNC's got a virtual road game for our bowl.

Its ok we are pretty terrible.

When does that start? I see that the Outback bowl is no longer at 11. I am glad someone finally realized that 11 is a terrible time to have a football game on new years day. Also Jan. 1 games haven't been a big deal since the BCS started.
