Texas has had some good ones. I do wonder why nobody checked in on the Sooners or the Texas Tech fans. I suppose the Oregon State fans were mildly upset as well.

My #2's been Oregon State since 1998. I went up there for a summer when my best friend moved to Hermiston, OR. His brother was planning to go there, so I kind of adopted them. Still have my Beavers t-shirt I bought when I was there.

My observations about Ghosts of Ole Miss:

It's way too complex to explore in a 60 minute documentary, some of which is taken up by sports stuff. Reading Absalom, Absalom and watching the Ole Miss-Georgia game on Saturday would be a better way to spend your time.

Wright is from the Delta, which is its own kind of messed up beyond the rest of 'normal' Mississippi. He may have not learned about what happened in his all-white private school (which I assume he attended growing up in Clarksdale) but I did in my public school a few hours away.

Also, having a cross burned on a lawn in the early 1980s is incomprehensible to me. Maybe not in the Delta, but again, not where I lived. 95% of the people I knew at Ole Miss from the Delta were bizarre and not people I wanted to be around.

Obviously, I'm pro-bear and will always be pro-bear. I don't care about dixie or flags or any of that shit.

Still wondering why the Big XII is considered the second best conference..?

Big XII
4 wins over teams with winning records
1 win over BCS conference team with winning record
5 wins over teams with 4-4 records
42-29 record between these 9 teams


PAC 12
11 wins over teams with winning records
4 wins over BCS conference teams with winning record +2 BYU wins
1 win over a 4-4 team
64-29 record of these 11 teams.


This is taken from the top nine of each conference (although you could argue Cal's narrow loss at Ohio State is actually more impressive than any Big XII victory). Cupcakes aside, the PAC 12 has played a much more difficult and have won more against said competition.

I read the guys bio on Wikipedia and found out he didn't go to Ole Miss and was from a different part of the state. Seemed like an odd choice to try and provide "insider" perspective on the whole thing.

Embree may or may not be the guy, but it's going to take a few years even if he is. Our conference is tough, you guys will have to build slowly but surely.

The officiating crew from the FSU vs Miami game all got reprimanded, and the head ref got suspended for a game (ie, he didn't paid last week). I'd say the ACC refs are dogshit.
