Come confess your gaming sins, child.

Outside of all the games and series I haven't played (which is many), here are a few.

- I'm really disappointed with Sony's upcoming lineup. Horizon: Zero Dawn looks to fall into too many of the open world traps other games have; God of War turning into a Naughty Dog-like is severely disappointing as, without any DMCs or Platinum games on the horizon after Nier, the character action genre is all but dead now; I don't have much PS1 or Wipeout nostalgia so the remakes and remasters don't hold any clout for me and just point to a lack of creativity/risk; Day's Gone just looks generic. The only things I'm excited for from them is Ace Combat 7 and Death Stranding, TLoU2 needs to prove itself but I'm betting that it'll be at least decent.

- I played through Dark Souls 1 the first time using a walkthrough and I've also summoned for almost every boss throughout the entire series, this is despite Souls 1 being my favorite game of all time

- I've used the estus flask when doing a fair duel against an opponent in the various Souls games

- I haven't completed Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, nor have I even got halfway through Skyward Sword

- I've got a severe case of buying games and not playing them for a long while, the most recent example being FFXV a week or so from launch day for £42

- If a Quick Play or Arcade match in Overwatch looks to be an obvious wipe I just quit out of there immediately with no remorse

- I think INSIDE is one, if not the, most overrated games of the past 10 years

I have never beaten a Zelda. Last Zelda I have played was Oot on n64.

I don't like ff8

I skipped GameCube and Wii. I just bought my 1st Nintendo system in 2 gens last year used at a pawn shop for less then 150.

Well here it goes...

-Never played Zelda
-Never played Final Fantasy
-Played a TINY bit of MGS back on PS1 but that was it
-I have all 3 Uncharted(s?), yet only played MP on UC3
-Last of Us? I have that too! Untouched
-I have Demon Souls and Dark Souls, but haven't played them
-Technically, Kingdoms of Amalur is my first real RPG experience discounting Pokemon
-Came into the PlayStation family around 2004. Bought nothing but sports games
-GTA4 was my first GTA. Played less than an hour of that. Haven't touched it since
-Same with Red Dead Redemption
-Off the top of my head, I probably have over 320 games and Infamous 1 is the ONLY game I have completed in its entirety
-The Mario characters and Pokemon characters in the OG Smash Bros are the ONLY characters I recognized in the game
-Speaking of Mario, I have never completed a single Mario game

To make matters worse, I grew up on Nintendo. There's more but I think that is enough for now. I would not be mad GAF perma banned me for my sins.
I thought my Hannah Montana platinum trophy was bad.

Dear god.

I can't stand Mario games. Barely touched a few of them, but I can't for more than a few minutes. I'd rather play the new Rayman games.

Gears of War is too boring for me. I barely finished 3 because I got it dayone and didn't want to leave it there unfinished, but I never got more than 1-2 hours in either 1, Judgment or 4.

I never gave a true chance at Wii games because I hate the WiiMote.

I usually buy DLCs on sale if they are for a game I own and they carry achievements, I also used to go for 100% but I mostly stopped when my backlog became too big.

- I can't finish JRPG without using a gamefaqs guide
- Most of the games I've finished are Licensed games (Spongebob, Avatar etc.)
- I have an irrational hate for Dota ( and any MOBAs in general)
- I finished Mario 2, 3 and Megaman 2 through the constant usage of save states. It took me around 30 hours per game to finish the three 'cuz of how much I suck.
- Not a sin of mine, but most if not all the ps1 games that my brother bought were of cheap and questionable origins.

I have never played a 2D Zelda.

I love survival horror but have never played a Silent Hill game.

I claimed that Journey was my GOTY in 2012, but it was actually Lord of the Rings: War in the North, I fucking loved that game.

I bitch endlessly about Square not releasing FF6 in Europe, but truthfully I never would have played it anyway.

I tried Demon Souls and pretended to myself that I liked it, and then later accused Dark Souls fans of being snobs, before ending up as a DS/BB snob.

I'm glad that I'm not into mmo rpgs because I'd probably play games constantly.
Same here. I think that's a good type of gaming sim.

I spammed zangief's spinning lariat playing online SF4, Over, and over again.

It annoyed opponents so much they sent hate messages.
You're making me cry.
I have broken at least 500 dollars worth of controllers due to rage.

As well as my PSP Slim....and two other PSP systems.
Bro, stop. Please.

  • I regularly use walkthroughs/guides/FAQs. Generally speaking, I only want to have to play through a game once and I want to min/max that experience.
  • Indie games are just the new shovelware and I think 99% of them are garbage.
  • Bethesda makes bad games.

Already posted, but these apply to me as well.

I've never properly played an RPG.
Never played World of Warcraft.
I hated The Witcher 3.
I don't care about a games story that much.

Okay I have another one. My favorite FF game is X-2. I usually tell people that X-2 and IX are my favorites but in my heart of hearts its X-2.

I used to create female alt-accounts back when Ragnarok Online was big so I could scam dudes for expensive gear, especially cute hats.

I also made some money by offering a shield equipped with a Thara Frog card. Before the trade could be completed, I would cancel it and ask again, except this time there was a regular shiel. Since there's no visual indicator that they were any different, most people would get a useless trinket for tons of zenny.

If you ever was scammed bye a girl called sapequinha*~ (can't recall the exact spelling), I'm sorry that was me.

This post angers me.

Alright I have a confession to make: I'm playing through FF6 on android right now and I'm really enjoying it. Normally I really like to play the games as untouched as possible, so I don't mind going back to the NES or SNES to play some classics. But for the FF franchise I've always struggled a bit to get into it. I've started FF6 two times already on SNES, and while I was loving everything about it, it never grabbed me.

But on mobile it's been really fun, I'm enjoying all the QoL improvements and the touch menus. I really dislike the new sprites and touch screen to move around though, but I can get used to it. If every mobile port of FF has this level of polish (not great, but adequate) I feel like I might play FF1-6 like that.

I can't finish Zelda games. Or play them for longer than an hour, even.

I just think the games are boring to the point of feeling like some kind of weird sadomasochism.

Not a fan of Mario or Zelda much, but I do respect the franchises.

I liked Final Fantasy XIII. And I like Lightning.

I'm still salty about Bayonetta 2 being on Wii U only even though I'm thankful Nintendo saved it.

I love Destiny and Street Fighter V, screw the haters.

- I love anime fighters with flashy specials that take up half and hour

- I have yet to actually play acclaimed games like Super Metroid and Final Fantasy VI/VII

- I don't particulary care about Super Metroid's aesthethics either

- I can never manage to finish Chrono Trigger for whatever reason

- I still really dislike the 360 controller despite owning one to play on PC

- I had no idea people liked the first Devil May Cry at all since I find 3 to be vastly superior in every way

- I still have my e-Reader and never regretted buying it, same with Balance Board (and even that got more use than the e-Reader lol)

- I prefer classic Megaman over edgier Megaman X

- I platinum'd Neptunia. No, not Rebirth, the very first one

- While I liked him at first, I now think Mark Brown's overly-academic analysis to be very disconnected with what video games actually are and kind of harmful

I cant for the life of me bring myself to finish Chrono Trigger i love everything about it with the exception of the gameplay witch just puts me to sleep. Same goes with the Witcher 3

- I used the quit-to-dashboard-trick after each death against a boss in Demon's Souls (allows you to respawn at the fog gate when reloading the game) in my 4th playtrough. The 3 first were legit tho;

- Tried Metroïd Prime on Gamecube and Wii U, hated it. I played a couple of hours of Super Metroïd (original Snes cart and VC), couldn't get in. Don't understand why as I love Aliens, metroïdvanias and FPS;

- I play a kazoo song in the mic whenever someone rage against the team in Titanfall 2;

- I stole a copy of Guilty Gear (Psone) from a rich kid when I was 14;

- My boss is basically paying me to browse GAF all day long instead of working.

  • With the exception of a GameBoy Pocket I have never owned a Nintendo console.
  • I have never finished Red Dead Redemption
  • I have never played the Mass Effect trilogy.
  • Xbox One was my first Xbox console
  • When PS2 launched I told my dad to get me a PS One instead because I didn't believe PS2 was BC and my original PlayStation had broken.
  • I love to teabag people on online MP games.

I have some more sins to add.

  • I own every mainline AssCreed game and have only ever finished the first one.
  • I haven't finished Doom yet.
  • I buy many games impulsively if on sale.
  • I think Resistance 2 is better than Resistance 3.
  • I liked GTA IV better than GTA V.
  • I think some Japanese games are fucking weird.
  • I have never played any elder scrolls games and I never finished Fallout 3.
  • I own every mainline Ratchet and Clank game and have never finished a single one. The 2016 remake is the closest I've come to finishing one.
  • I am not a fan of the Souls games. Bloodborne was the only one I liked.
  • Resident Evil 5 is the only RE game I have ever finished.
  • I have never finished a Final Fantasy game.

I hate Kingdom Hearts with a passion. Don't understand the game at all; never will.

Watched a friend play through the original and I just don't see the appeal.

I think Resident Evil is one of the most overrated and mediocre series out there and have tried 4-5 times to play the original and just can't do it. I also think it's dated horribly.

Can't stand most fighting games no matter how hard I try to like them. The last one I thoroughly enjoyed for more than 20 min was SF 4.

This one is going to sting a bit: the GBA is not the handheld of all time people say it is. Port after port after port, and only a handful of original games.

I find The Last of Us, Ico, and Red Dead Redemption to be all stupidly overrated. In fact, I couldn't even muster the enthusiasm to finish Ico.

I think Lords of Shadow 2 is a genuinely great game.

I've only played very little of Final Fantasy and Zelda but I didn't like either.

In fact most Nintendo IP just doesn't interest me tbh

I rarely replay games as I keep playing through new releases and backlog

Barely play MP

It's also embarassing how AAA games can't compete with indies on either a value or creative level

I bought a PS4 at launch and right now only own one game for it, Bloodborne. Biggest waste of money in all my years of playing games.

And imo, Uncharted is now suffering the "Seinfeld is unfunny" trope, now that everyone is doing the same shtick it made great back in the UC2 days, it's just not that impressive anymore.

- I preordered Street Fighter V on both PC and PS4 as well as getting the Season Pass on PS4.
- Skipped Witcher 1 and 2, went in when Witcher 3 came out
- Bought Skyrim on PS3, then again on PC, never played more than 30 minutes on either one of them.
- Spent quite a bit of money on loot boxes when Overwatch initially came out
- Never played a Zelda game (apart from Wind Walker HD trial on Wii U)
- Playing Legion (was gifted, and pay subs with gold) instead of playing FFXIV at the time
- Don't understand GTA games and why people like it

You monster

How do you live with yourself?

It ain't easy being this badass all the time though

Okay I have another one. My favorite FF game is X-2. I usually tell people that X-2 and IX are my favorites but in my heart of hearts its X-2.

As a fellow X-2 man, I've got your back.

While I'm here, these are my gaming sins:

I think FF6 is hugely overrated by the fandom. I still think it's one of the best games in the series but I don't deify it like the majority of its fans seem to do.
Same deal with Persona 2, though that one is more of a dedicated niche.

My backlog consists of multiple PS1, PS2, and PS3 games, and all that's before we get into my steam library. Last I checked, I had around 50 games in my backlog.

I never played multiplayer games growing up, though I've been trying to rectify this lately.
Related to this, I've never played a Call of Duty game.

I adore the Dynasty Warriors games and will probably never get sick of playing them.

Never played the old-school Resident Evil games, though I enjoyed Resi4.

Never played the Silent Hill games either.

Never played a Zelda game, the closest I've played is Okami.

I like Star Ocean 3 and think the plot twist in that game gets way too much hate (though there are issues with it).

I like Tales of Graces f.

I have trouble getting into fighting games despite finding them really interesting.

I cheated my way though the Warcraft 3 campaign.
