Confirmed: Haze Never Coming Out on Xbox 360

For what it's worth, deepbrown, I appreciate you sharing your impressions.

I was never getting this game for graphics. I am getting it because, well....Free Radical.
Cheers. Potentials there for some really good gameplay and story....lets hope they pull it off. TBH I was more interested about the 4 player co-op and I didn't get to play that.

I take it you haven't played Frontlines Multiplayer? 50 player online? Joinable Squads on your team? Despite seeming a bit generic as well, and while I don't think it's an amazing game or anything, it is amazingly fun. I didn't expect it. I can't say the same for Haze yet because I haven't played it, but you can't underestimate Frontlines. I did, and boy was I wrong.

You should try playing warhawk on one of psn's free dedicated servers.... no lag.

hmm from http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-123940.aspx

Less than 30 fps in any shooter sucks and pretty much ruins the game for me

True, but the game is not finished and maybe they will turn vsync off when under 30fps. This would allow you to have 27 fps with tearing instead of 20fps without. Mass Effect managed to score very well and get GOTYs when it had sub 20fps during combat. Hell, I had several fights that were probably under 12fps.

It doesn't go below 29fps - I played it for 2 hours with the fr in the corner. It'll be locked on launch.

I have to admit I didn't have much hope for this game before, regardless of the platform stuff. But after reading deep's impressions I am allot more curious about the game now.

My problem with timesplitters was the controls never felt right. It had that perfect dark zero/turok syndrome where no ammount of tweaking could fix it. That and the single player mode was insanely boring. I didnt know these guys were so hyped.

How does it feel being a pawn in Ubi's PR game?

I'm interested in the firefight banter with the enemies - supposedly something they've concentrated on. I get a preposterously strong kick out of folks I'm trying to fight mocking me when my ammo is getting low, or talking tactics. It doesn't have to be complex - although I'd really, really love it if it was something Free Radical or another developer was able to ratchet up a few notches. It's partly a matter of great scripting, and partly, I guess, a matter of implementing it in the enemy intelligence.

How do you know Free Radical didnt decide to be PS exclusive?

And I'm being deadly serious now. Give me good questions.

Free Radical didn't decide shit. Free Radical had three versions in development, and allegedly, as of March 2007, all three versions were at roughly the same point in development, with the PS3 having a marginal lead due to its status as lead development platform. I'll be a red haired monkey's uncle if I'm going to believe that FRD decided to just bin two functional versions. And judging by the attitude of at least the project lead, I have an equally hard time believing that FRD would instigate a PR exclusive scheme, knowing that it'd confuse, disappoint and ultimately piss people off. I also don't think it's a coincidence that, shortly after this exclusive shit hit the fan, said project lead announced that he'd no longer post on the official message board.

But, never mind this. Focus on the real questions, although I for one would definitely love to at some point see an honest post-mortem on this matter.

Again: Ubisoft.

Or are Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time suddenly exclusive games for PlayStation consoles now?

Not to mention that Free Radical themselves said during the Ubi Days 07 event that Haze would be ported to the Xbox 360 and PC.

FR are known to like PS - they've also stated they went with Ubisoft because they chose them and THEY wanted to. They reiterated that they had full control over their game. It's possible Sony spoke personally to FR and gave them money.

Do you really think Ubisoft of all producers/devs would want to go exclusive - especially after AC?

Wait what. It's exclusive now. We're talking about who's decision it was. ATA thinks it's Ubisoft....so don't speak to me about it.

NOW stfu about this and give me some good questions.

You know, given the fact that the game was running like complete shit when it was in development for multiple consoles and the PC, it looks like it was a good thing that they were able to just sit down and focus on 1 system. Maybe they're just one of the developers that aren't able to handle multiple consoles right now in the current gen.

Is this not the thread where one has linked to a newspost of Ripten where they said that UBISOFT REPRESENTATIVES told them that Haze was a PS3 exclusive?

You don't need to be all bitchy about it, as I'm just repeating that Ubisoft has pulled this stunt before and that it's very likely that they did it again with Haze.

EDIT: wrongful accusation there.

No I didn't create this topic. Sorry...but we've kind of been over this with pages and pages. This thread died...I just brought it back up for questions to FR.

1) How did they deal with the dead zone in the PS3's analog controllers?
2) How extensively are they using the SPEs?
3) What varieties of MP are available, and what's the matchmaking system(if any) like?
4) How did they manage to balance non-Nectar users with Nectar users in MP?

Yeah, I noticed I was wrong about that part and edited my post, hoping you didn't quote me already. Never mind. ;p

Still, AA asked a valid question, though I doubt the devs from FRD even allowed to honestly answer questions regarding Haze's supposed exclusivity without getting into trouble with Ubisoft.

Be sure to post info when you're back though. I'm still interested in this game despite the colossal PR fuck-ups.

Haze PS3 exclusive "for now", says Ubisoft
Publisher responds to 'no Haze for 360 ever' reports

Ubisoft has told CVG that the official stance on Haze remains that it's exclusive to PS3 "for now", in response to recent reports that the FPS will never come to 360.

Stories on the 'net today report that unnamed Ubisoft spokespersons attending the Play.com Live event in Wembley Stadium, London, over the weekend confirmed that the nectar-fuelled shooter will only ever appear on PS3.

But Ubisoft has told us that the game is "exclusive on PS3 for now". The "for now" part is what leads to 'timed exclusive' speculation.

It was originally expected for PS3, 360 and PC, but later shifted to lead on PS3, with other formats thought to follow. Ubisoft has never outright confirmed that it will be a permanent PS3 exclusive.

Maybe it's waiting to see how well it does on Sony's console first.

Holy shit! O_O That's pretty shocking. Finally some great ad campain for the game.

So the "generic and unimagitive" shooter brings thread post count to 689?

That looks pretty good on the Attention Meter.

Marketing is a religion and the Haze campaign is the shit.

By spreading contradictory statements Ubi might want to "blackmail" (too harsh) Sony into buying the exclusivity.
Since the 360 drowns in shooters they might think that Haze will earn more revenue by being ps3 exclusive (better adds, bundles by sony? - less dev costs) + exclusivity cash.
