Confirmed: Haze Never Coming Out on Xbox 360

I played it at Play.com Live today for a bit, seems ok. Graphics aren't that great but the story telling in the cutscenes is quite well done. Level design is good as well but the Nectar doesn't seem to have much of an effect on the gameplay so there wasn't really much variety in the demo. Overall it just seems like a solid FPS but that's all it is.

Note I was only playing for about 15 mins so it's not the best thing to judge it by but it seems good, just not Perfect Dark/Goldeneye/Time Splitters material.

Well, whatever happens, whether FRD manages to deliver this thought provoking FPS that it has been aiming for or not, the multiplayer is all but guaranteed to be awesome. That'd be a shame as I really liked what was originally said about the SP, but so far the presentation hasn't really echoed much of that. And seeing as how half-baked campaigns seem to always be forgiven as long as the MP is awesome, the game should realistically see some success. Review success, probably not though; gaming news media is little more than an echo of message board sheep and zeros, so I'm sure the game will be thoroughly shat on.

It was never March. 20th of May if all goes well.

I've always liked the look of Haze, and loved the videos they put up on the PSN store. I like the setting, I like the 'hook', and I really like the voice of the guy they have playing the protagonist. I've been looking forward to this game.

That said, it's coming out three weeks after GTA IV, and a month or so before MGS IV. I have a real hard time imagining how I'm going to be ready for anything else but more GTA by May 20th, and once MGS comes out, I'm afraid I'm booked.

Sony/Ubi will have to advertise the hell out of this thing if they want it to move, I'm afraid.

My manager got to play the game last year (before the big delay) and according to him, theres a reason its not on 360...it sucks. But that was before they fixed a bunch of stuff so we shall see

from all accounts, the game is a mess of suckitude. i doubt 360 fans care. besides, the last thing it needs is another shooter... i think 360 fans will be fine without yet another.

This is why I love this forum. It is so easy to spot the trolls and those who are not happy with the news in said thread. These users could go on about their business yet they come in here to display their negative remarks despite this game not having anything to do with their platform (As confirmed by the OP). And yeah, some people here take their hobby too serious.

spot on

i know right? Haze, Halo, MGS, Forza....you're all crazy.

GAF is crazy. a game that had hype for a split second shouldn't have this many responses. sure it's just us going in circles saying, "the bitter tears are out in droves", or, "i'm still not interested in this game". sure only one of those are factual and it seems like Sony fanboys want people to be saddened by this news more than actual people saddened by this news but that's not the point. or maybe it is. and it doesn't just go for Haze. a lot of exclusive game threads are overrun with crazy talk. it's just that this time we still have the old threads to go back and read, because it didn't start out as a PS3 exclusive.

this game was never "OMG GOTTA HAVE IT" and just because people still feel that way now we have a long ass thread about how those people are now bitter. that's stupid. i originally didn't care for the game. when AA was hyping it i just didn't give a shit. but recently i've been peeping out what they're doing and i think it seems like a cool game. a lot of folks still aren't sold on it but here at GAF that's reason enough for the S Squad to come out in either support of the new exclusive or to call out people for not caring about a game that most didn't care about in the first place......how pathetic is that, really?:lol

like i said, if Sony fanboys want to sing about the bitterness of tears then they should rally around MGS4 and GT5. FF even. there's enough
PS3 games that create actual bitter tears without having to resort to delusions about Haze. it's Haze. go read the old threads....it's the same Haze. the same one that got shit (probably undeservedly) thrown on it before it was exclusive.

Never mind the fact that it's work in progress, claiming that by all accounts the game is a sucky mess is just idiotic. That's not to say that this isn't the preferred belief of the 360 fan, but that's hardly a good thing.

More nail hammering. I'm always struck by the ratio of posts decrying bitter tears to posts actually made up of bitter tears.

... and more brutally unbiased BB auto-gravitation towards a largely one-sided defense argument. Good job.

I personally think it's comical that some Sony fans have sort of taken the game under its wing, but it's certainly no more comical than the other camp going ether and brimstone on the game directly following comments by Yescombe regarding the goals for the story of this game. There are plenty of bitter tears, and most comical of all is that the few who have actually ever been interested in the game based on its own merits as opposed to platform bias are the ones called shills. It's a damned shame that Ubi had to fuck around so much with the target platform. This game was already fighting an uphill battle, it didn't need to be put in the middle of the fanboy battlefield.

nothing. the features aren't only nice, but they are very attractive. I am talking about the core FPS feel and control of the game. that for me sells a FPS or not. everything else just sweetens the deal or make it more painful to let something slide.

Okay, AA. There's droves of "Xbots" crying in this thread. There's not enough ":lol "s or "CRY MOAR" posts on the internet to handle them.

MGS4, GT5 and FF won't have 4 player co-op. That's why I am interested in this at least. Oh and Goldeneye.

It may not be God's gift to man though. I expect low scores. <8.

Like previously said, I think they just want to get the game out and done with at this point. It'll be a good release for PS3 though. Seems like it has the potential to have a healthy MP life.

I'm still not sold on the SP aspect though, but I haven't seen any new vids in a while.

Why the fuck have threads had like a 30:1 rambling about all the bitter tears : bitter tears ratio lately? More people get off on the potential of others reacting to news than the fucking news.

The system wars got really hardcore. This is like this generations Omaha Beach.

On the one hand, Haze looks decent.

On the other hand, this is pretty blatant fanboy dick waving.

On the other hand, the bitterness is flowing pretty heavy regardless.

How many hands do you have??

It really is a wonder that any of the console manufacturers pay anyone for marketing when they all have legions of "fans" willing to slug it out for free over something like Haze exclusivity.

The only thing I've noticed about Haze is that I've seem more discussion about it's platform exclusivity than about the actual game itself. :lol

so its Ok to love a game before its released but not Ok get get your Hate on before the game is released?

what is the world coming to?

Don't worry, I'm here to give you guys exactly what you want:

I was really looking forward to playing this on the 360. :'(

Edit: Above post might not be entirely true.

Did Free Radical figure out how to implement jumping? Or did they build another game with maps based on the fact that you can't jump, and if you could you'd break the game?

This is exactly how I thought it would turn out to be six months ago. Got a little shaky here and there, but still thought it would remain exclusive. Afterall, I thought they were using PS3's cell technology within its engine. That would make things a lot harder to port. Anyways, I cry at how many have already dismissed the game when it in fact looks like it will blow a lot of gamers away. If half of you had read even but one of the latest previews, you will have found that this game is being very well received. I expect great things from this game when its released. Day one people. Day one. :D

I don't want to start a flame war here, but I meant that the 360 has more console sold than the Ps3. It's not the PS3 fault, as the 360 was here sooner, but, heck, it's just stupid considering the lack of hype Haze has, and how low-profile this game will end up being.

They might have chosen to go PS3-exclusive because there are fewer high-profile FPS's available on that platform, meaning less competition. Similar to how Tales of Symphonia benefited from the relative lack of RPG's on the Cube - it wouldn't have done nearly so well had it been a PS2 exclusive, since the RPG genre is pretty saturated on that platform.

I never had a problem with the lack of a jump button in the Timesplitters games. (Yeah, you can pencil me in for the Timesplitters Defense Force, if there is one.) I think bunny-hopping in FPS's is asinine - and anything that discourages it is A-OK in my book. (I'd like to see FPS's adopt a 'stamina bar' for jumping, and possibly sprinting - something that would drain after a couple of jumps and refill relatively fast, which would enable them to leap to hard-to-reach spots in the environment for a tactical advantage or whatever, but preventing them from bouncing around like a bunch of bunnies on crack.)

Jumping should be an automatic action. Games should not limit the natural human abilities, but they should for that matter not aim to replicate a separate action for every single move, especially if those moves are practically instinctual. If I need to get across a log on the ground, I shouldn't have to walk around it, nor should I have to press a button to perform a move that should realistically be a natural motion.

But then you end up with the 'auto move' feeling of less interaction that you get in games like assassins creed...

9, I repeat, 9 fucking pages for such an average game?

Oh Gaf!:lol
4 pages of people saying it's looking to be another mediocre FPS, 4 pages of people saying it won't. That's all there is to it.

Oh, and 1 page of system warrior retards trying to seriously use this as leverage to attack another platform.
