After the 12 hour maintenance on the PlayStation Netowrk, I went to log into my PSN account today on the PlayStation Site. Then I am greeted with this:

The logo for Qriocity was not there as you sing on on the PSN until after the maintenance, so maybe the maintenance and the fact that the logo appears on the PS Site means that Sony's streaming service is coming to PS3 come E3?

Mock if old/wrong, etc.

I have Qriocity built into my TV. I don't really use it, though. The built in Netflix client gets a ton of use.

The TV is a Sony KDL-32EX308. Awesome feature set for a 32" TV for $450ish.

I thought the service already launched on US Bravia TVs back in February? It's supposed to be coming to Bravias here in the UK before the end of the year too.

I believe it is coming to PS3, but the appearance of the logo on the PSN sign-in I think is just to signify that they share a universal login (as all Sony services supposedly will going forward, based on PSN).

Of course. Plus they said this fall/winter sometime it will be native to the XMB. I think Quriocity may be Sony's attempt to maybe make it worldwide or expand past just US.

They have a huge stable of movies they can put out there where Netflix is not yet penetrated. Sure they may compete against netflix in the US, but you guys should not forget outside the US there is no Netflix.

I also wonder if this may be included in the rumored PSN+ to add to the "value" proposition. If they get newer movies/releases than Netflix gets, this may be compelling. After all Sony has a movie division that can cut them a special deal.
