Mayweather is going to lose this fight. Mayweather knows to sell this is for Mcgregor to be seen as the "Great White Hope". He's going to throw this fight so he can make a rematch which will be huge due to the racist buying.

Don'g ignore Helwanis tweets. In his interview with McGregor, Conor said his next steps is to go to Vegas to see if the commission would recognize his license from NY/CA and recognize the fact (NSAC is a money-hungry joke of an organization and will definitive approve). Then negotiate the terms with Mayweather and then bring the offer to the UFC. If the UFC wants a part of it, he will let them so the business goes easier. If they want to fight, he said he would. Lets see what happens, but so far McGregor has been on message.
You're insane if you think Mayweather would throw the fight for more money he doesn't need.
I don't see Floyd going for the knock out unless his ego truly gets the best of him. His entire strategy for the last decade has been to avoid dangerous situations, pepper the opponent with smaller punches that add up points wise, and constantly keep his opponents frustrated and off balance. This is not going to be anything like a slug fest or counter punching brawl as that's the antithesis of Floyd's style.

I know the gloves are different and boxing aint MMA, but has Conor even had an amateur boxing fight? Wasnt mayweather standing in the pocket vs Canelo and out striking him? Part of the reason there is much more to gain for Conor out of this than Mayweather. If Conor loses, he's lost to a legend fighting in a sport he isn't that familiar with and made huge bank. No big deal. If he wins it is legendary. Really a win win situation for Conor

Basically. Its a pretty much zero risk game. Everyone pretty much knows Floyd schools Conor in boxing, Conor schools Floyd in MMA. Its pretty much just a freak show / spectacle fight and would still be really fun to see just for the hell of it.
Conor can go out there and get beat and just be like, "So what I fought the best boxer ever and this isn't even my sport" and walk off with $100 million in his pocket.

Based on what, exactly?
I don't think he has a shot in the first 3 rounds as Mayweather's entire fighting style is a nightmare to take on for professional world class boxers so I don't see what a MMA fighter is going to do, especially with a good portion of his arsenal no longer available to him. Perhaps if Floyd loses his mind and his ego finally gets the best of him and he starts a brawl, but I don't think there is any chance of that.

I will watch the fight but it is going to a joke of a fight unless it is fixed.
This will probably be more boring than most Mayweather fights.

Floyd won't agree to do an MMA match. He knows he can easily take Conor in boxing so of course he's only going to play if that's the match they have.

You can for sure bet there is a clause in McGregor's contract that explicity states that Conor cannot box professionally while under UFC contract.
That said, if McGregor really is trying to make this fight a reality, and its not just a ploy to increase how much Dana / UFC pay him, I think the plan is to argue in court that the Ali Act should extend to MMA. I have a feeling Floyd and Conor will try to use that to make this fight happen

Which is smart. Look what happened to every other boxer that has tried MMA. Remember the James Toney vs Randy Couture fight? I think people want to see Mayweather get his ass kicked so bad which is why they would want him to do an MMA style match. Plus there is ALOT more money to be had if it is a boxing match instead of an MMA match.

Max Holloway landed a head kick on Conor. Conor also took hard shots in the Mendes fight, and both Diaz fights. Sure he got rocked by one of Nate's 1-2's but he didn't get finished by it. And he took plenty of Nate's punches in the 2nd fight just fine.
He has a good chin.

Not that it matters but James Toney was shot and overweight when he fought that MMA match. I can't believe people use that as an example for anything. Mayweather is definitely past his prime, but he's not shot nor out of shape.

What else do we have to go on??? Boxers in MMA just can't cut it. The moment the fight hits the ground it's like a turtle on it's back. Heck I doubt any boxer can take any more then a handful of leg kicks from an MMA fighter.

Well Ray Mercer did knock the fuck out of Tim Sylvia after Sylvia landed one leg kick. So, there's that. But all of those matches were circus sideshows and proved nothing.
I don't understand the appeal of this fight. McGregor stands no chance in a boxing match, and Floyd isn't going to risk messing up his hands again to try and KO him. Floyd will avoid everything McGregor has and take an easy decision.
Just like it makes no sense to have them fight in an MMA match. Mayweather would stand no chance on the ground with McGregor.

Let's see... Conor is thinking hey. I may get dusted by Mayweather but collect anywhere from $50+ mill for the fight... Or we do it in the Octagon I win and collect a little over $10 mill. There's your answer right there.

Yeah but that didn't knock him out and was a fight we later learned he went into recovering from a staph infection. Which is why he looked his worst in that fight compared to every other. It's not really the best basis to judge McGregor on

Conor is not going 36 minutes with Floyd. He will be so gassed from chasing Floyd around and whiffing on punches while getting peppered, he is 100% getting KO'd. He can't spend rounds legkicking, he can't go for desperation takedowns.
What Conner would make triple if not more then he has ever made in the UFC. In what world wouldn't he take this fight?

He can't. However, you could characterize the payday he'd get as a big "win" regardless.
That's the only thing that's ever been on the table. No way in hell Floyd agrees to anything but a boxing match. He's holding all the cards, here.
