Crackdown - Install it to your HDD now!

You could? I stopped playing on 360 because the DVD drive spun full-speed non-stop (worse than any other game) despite the game being installed. Oh, the other reason was because the 360 version would always freeze during Besieged.

Yeah I know, it was idiotic how FFXI was fully installed to the HD but STILL accessed the disc drive constantly FOR NO REASON (some disc piracy measure crap I guess?) to make the annoying non-stop noise, thats what annoyed me so much. But ya after the 'official' install any game to run of the HD update FFXI now runs pretty much silently, its glorious for us who played once with the noise and now without. :D

Besieged and the like problems still occur sadly, but I'm a console man and can't go back to PS2 graphics really so I just live with them because there isn't much other choice. The quiet running of the game helps that.

The Crackdown team just told me that have a title update now on LIVE that will enable you to install Crackdown to your HDD.

THIS is what they've been working on for nearly 3 years?!

I think GTA4 is another one that has issues when installed. Unless it was patched, I remember installing it and there being some streaming issues with certain objects.

Great for all the GAFers who haven't played it yet but plan to do so!

Which is probably close to none.
I haven't.

I really ought to buy it at some point.

So I installed it, runs like a dream.

Can't believe how I ever played this system before hand, its so much better actually being able to hear myself think.

Wasted a couple of hours getting random agility orbs haha, at 370something of them. Trying to get 4 star rating on explosives now, stupid cops keep getting in the way.

*kabooom*

Apparently that's only if installed to a 20GB HDD, if you install it to a 120GB it runs fine. Although I hear that if the drive is close to full then that can affect performance negatively when installed. Generally, load times when reading from the 20GB HDD are a little longer than from the 120GB but it's still faster than from the disc and you get the benefit of the silence.
