I was confused at the $25,000 goal but it seems they're just using this as an early-access-but-not-called-that campaign.

Also, hey, Elminster Ed Greenwood. That's a pretty good get if you need a 'name' fantasy writer for a game project.
FTL took the same approach, so hard to say it isn't effective

And another KS game that I'm backing is Sacred Fire. It's a turn-based RPG set in Ancient Caledonia. It has an interesting idea for a "psychological combat" system that revolves around managing character's emotions (I'm not entirely sure how this will work yet, but it certainly sounds like something different).

sacredfire1.gif.html

Also, some may be interested to know that the game will feature Doug Cockle (voice of Geralt of Rivia) as the narrator.

Arcane "features a wide range of gameplay elements from several game genres, including RPG, Survival and Adventure. The primary focus of the game is the Adventurer's progression in the ancient arts of sorcery. Choose from a variety of magic practices, establish a base, combat monsters, craft items and survive the lands of Arcane".

This game has really nice looking high res pixel art and music sounds nice as well. KS page is a bit scant on details about gameplay but there's a design doc you can look at that goes into more detail. Seems promising.

It really does. One of the KS games I'm most excited about in quite some time. I'd like them to reach all of the VA related stretch goals... Not sure if that's possible but they're close to the $60K (player character inner voice) goal with 5 hrs to go.

Finally got around to playing the Hellpoint demo. The concept and art style is cool, but the execution is incredibly clunky. Needs a lot of work before it can be something that's comparable even to something like Necropolis. I wish them the best and hope that this early showing is rough only because it's really really early.

Remembered that one Russian space game The Mandate, looks like it's pretty much dead in the water.

I've been reading the comments and checking the games kickstarter updates for a while now as it looked interesting when it was on Kickstarter, it seems like it's been dead for quite a long time really. Hardly any communication, no listening to feedback, entire changes in scope and features removed or cut back, features that aren't even started, no gameplay really shown, constant delays etc. I didn't expect anything to come of it considering all that, but it seems it's definitely not going to happen now.

Yup, would have never found it if google didn't spit it out as the first result for "russian space RTS kickstarter".

Not For Resale's campaign wraps up tonight. It's at 140% as of this posting with a stretch goal for music licensing, production insurance, and more within arm's reach.

We now have the Limited Run Games team locked for an interview thanks to the campaign. We're heading to Pennsylvania this coming week to speak to the family behind Classic Game Junkie and James Rolfe, which should be entertaining.

Fighting game with simplified input mechanics.

Anyone had a chance to try this at EVO perhaps? I kind of like the look of it despite all the hate it's been getting at SRK and such. (I still really miss Rising Thunder so hopefully this will scratch a similar itch control wise, IF it makes its funding goal...)

Kingdoms and Castles launched today, which is notable here only because it's the first Fig funded game to be released. Maybe soon we will start getting a look into how effectively that company might be able to make their business model work. Luckily for them the game is selling well and is 95% positive on Steam reviews.

Hey! I'm actually a programmer/designer on The Iron Oath. Left my job at EA a year ago to get this ready for Kickstarter. *crosses fingers things go smoothly* :D If anyone has any questions I can try and answer a few (though since the Kickstarter just went live you'll have to forgive me if it takes a minute to get back to you)
