Looks like you could pull half them out with bare hands.pieatorium said:
Yeah I'm not sure why people think it's weird looking - or even wrong. There tons of different brick styles, even in relatively modern buildings.pieatorium said:

It's actual geometry.
Are you thinking of Parallax Occlusion Mapping (also used in this engine)?
Well, that's one way to put itEatChildren said:I didn't explain it very well. I did mean tessellation.

Well that's the cycle of most threads, though I agree there really isn't a good excuse when we're talking about a 6 page thread. Hell, there were gifs the page prior.subversus said:6 pages later and we're still talking about bricks.

DeMeester said:Hope this patches also fixes the white gun/yellowish background issue on levels with rain that some of us are experiencing.
Dreams-Visions said:I don't see a goddamn difference.
are you guys just fucking with us? I looked at every set of pictures and the difference is somewhere between negligible and completely undetectable.
vilmer_ said:It appears it's an nvidia driver issue that will be fixed in the next release. I ran into it recently and got paranoid my video card was dying lol. There are tons of posts on mycrysis about the issue.
They really do. Crysis 2 has some of the most well-composed lighting I've ever seen in a game. I especially love how they don't resort to extreme color correction for an exaggerated film look like most games tend to do... the realistic hues in the city environments just pop out as a result.NBtoaster said:
okay mate. Really, I was looking for something more significant AND something completely different, which is probably why I didn't notice the slightly puffy bricks. The GIF version makes the differences stand out.jonnyp said:I think you should go see an optician, mate. There's a huge difference in the pictures you quoted.
Nah, MSAA wouldn't work with Crysis 2, since it uses a deferred lighting setup.scitek said:I do hope they've implemented proper MSAA, but I don't expect it. It would be nice to have my console commands back, too. I wanna play without the HUD again.

Gram Negative Cocci said:This is really the biggest improvement. Look at how every mirror-like surface mirrors the environment now, even the floor on that pic. This is a big deal.
This will make Dennis4K's pics so much more impressive... cannot fucking wait!
I NEED SCISSORS said:I really would love to see comparisons of the game before, and after with all these new options enabled at once. These shots only show one thing at a time - just imagine what it's like when it all comes together, and then with a DennisK4 config on top of that.. Dice and CDPR could have their work cut out.
Wait. Why didn't the original release just use environment mapping? No reflections at all just looks tacky.Gram Negative Cocci said:This is really the biggest improvement. Look at how every mirror-like surface mirrors the environment now, even the floor on that pic. This is a big deal.

Corky said:Gah fuck I forgot, I hated the grain and AA methods used in the original, is there a link to a "kick-ass sweet looking n' clean" config?
I NEED SCISSORS said:You can use this configurator to adjust things like that. I dunno about the 'best' config, but this one in the OP of the official thread is probably as bleeding edge as you can get. Maybe PM DennisK4 to ask about his settings as well.
