DAIGO beasting in Street Fighter IV

Great SF player is great. Film at 11.

He was using the saving system to fake, cancel, parry and even as a way to close the gap it looked like. Oh, and 800 Hadokens. :D

I have to say though, knowing anything like the "Daigo moment" will not be possible in the game is sad in a way.

This is just the video I needed to see, now I just know I'm getting this game. :D
This damn near convinced me of the opposite as it was ok nothing amazing. Something like this new system was in PIMM.

yeah this game will kick ass, although it would be soooo much better if it had Dudley and Alex and Q and Makoto and Ibuki and Urien and...

wow i wasnt ever hyped for this game from screen shots, but this is my first time seeing gameplay video.. WOW

*jumps aboard, DAY ONE* !!!

questions: when is this coming for ps3 and will it have online mode??

4. EX Shoryuken, EX Dash Cancel forward dash, juggle with Ultra Combo or EX Hurricane Kick

5. F + MP, link into crouching LP-->HP Shoryuken (--> Shinkuu Hadouken-->Ultra)

I am so friggin glad this game is turning out to be a 'real' Street Fighter game that people will at least like. I hope they add Cammy to the home versions!

the sounds of a bustling arcade make me reminiscent for my childhood =(

now the sounds of a "bustling" arcade are a strange mix of jpop from the ddr machine, eurobeat from the car simulators, and a couple of old women playing skiball :\

I'm not being an ass but what makes this high level play?

I've only played the SF series briefly, what exactly am I looking at?

The zoning mainly, and making use of the focus attack (where he goes into a stance, looks like he is charging up) and the combos. Notice he doesnt really miss anything.

Looks very slow.

I think the game play over all looks fine, but the throws make it look slow.. I dont like the floppy throw animations.. I actually wish they had more inspired throw animations instead of the over the shoulder toss..

Anyone I've talked to knows my main gripe is the weak animation in this game. Compared to Capcom's other ventures(Resident Evil and DMC in particular), the animation is pretty weaksauce.

This vid is completely raw, though.

wha?! The animation is one of the best aspects of the game's graphics, I can't imagine how anyone would call it weaksauce.

Since when?

Daigo dropped out of 3rd Strike completely about two years ago (memory hazy on exactly when), which is why there are no videos of him beyond that date doing the rounds. The only high profile tournament he entered since then was EVO 2006, which he came out of 'retirement'. It had a pretty big money prize because it was sponsored by Toyota and because there are no money prizes for Japanese tournaments (due to their gambling laws), I'm guessing that's why he entered.

Anyway, he looked REALLY rusty at EVO and lost this semi-final match to Alex Valle:

After that, there was a big fuss on SRK as everyone started arguing whether Deshiken was the world's best Ken player in 3S because Daigo had 'fallen off'.

There was a player who popped up in CvS2 ranbats as 'Ume' a while back but for all intents and purposes, Daigo has been veeeeery low profile since then. Word is he was working in some Mahjong parlour, probably BS though. A lot of this is all word on the grapevine stuff anyway, point is that he's been very low profile, especially considered to his previous status.

Daigo got a job for awhile and took a break from playing hardcore.

He also mentioned that he wasn't used to the PS2's timing for 3S. So that affected his gameplay at EVO.

AMERICA FUCK YEA

Very nice...

I always imagined focus-canceling (or is it just possible on EX-moves?) a Dragon Punch into the Ultra, and Daigo did just that, but I guess the guy will fall too fast if you don't dash in first - awesome...

Hell yeah - always loved this match - one touch away from a perfect on him, and he just turns it around for the victory - I swear this guy could do surgery or something - nerves of steel in a competition like no other...
