Yep, that suit was full on cringe mode the moment it showed up.

DeKnight not being back is surprising. He seemed really excited about going into season 2 from interviews. Maybe this means season 2 is happening earlier than he thought and hes involved with another series.

I also hope that this second season means that we get to see this Daredevil in the Civil War movie, even if in a small ass role.

DeKnight is part of Whedon's crew, right? Goddard is too - he bounced and there was a little ill-will there, but he didn't exactly handle his bailing on Daredevil all that well. Whedon's in the process of walking right now. I wonder if there's something to all of this, or if it's just coincidence, or just business as usual.

They have contracts and things to work out before they can renew it. House of Cards is their biggest hit, and it took over a month for them to confirm they were coming back for a Season 4.

Depends on the show, too. OITNB got renewed for S4 before S3 was out.

Also oh my god so many Daredevil threads

Isn't Goddard going to be writing Spidey?

DeKnight is just busy. I think he'll happily work with Marvel again when he has time.

Fuck yes! Daredevil was fucking sweet.

Edit: Oh shit the original showrunners won't be a part of the second season? Damn that sucks.

I remember a lot of people thinking we wouldn't see another season until like 2018 because of all the other shows. I'm thinking the timing of the renewals will be based on the popularity of each show. Plus Netflix is beyond super eager to expand their exclusive catalog, if they can get season 2 in before the team up show, they can, will, and did.

Isn't Goddard writing/directing Spider-Man? Don't think the Buffy alumni are all jumping ship just yet.

Hopefully DeKnight has just moved on to Iron Fist.

Yeah, Goddard's on Spidey, but Sony already had dude on contract and had a screenplay from him they could rework. That said - Whedon's on good terms. Goddard appears to be on good terms still too. DeKnight might be as well. Just was an interesting detail that jumped out at me, (I don't know that it'd occurred to me before how many people Whedon brought in with him) but that could be influenced by my posting in a similar thread a couple times today.

And yeah, DeKnight on Iron Fist would be cool.

This is 2016 so it will definitely be before Defenders, which is 2017 as far as we know. We might even get a third season before Defenders.

The question is will Luke Cage happen before Daredevil S2 or after. I'm thinking it won't be that far apart if they are trying to do both plus Iron Fist next year.

DeKnight already said he isn't back because he's committed to another show. An immediate season 2 of Daredevil was not what was planned, so the quick turnaround means changes are needed.
And portraying Whedon as though he is walking out on Marvel is pretty inaccurate. He was under contract to direct Avengers 2 and contribute overall from 2012-2015, and that contract is now ending. Pretty straightforward.

I don't think that's going on.
