Yeah fuck I just spent all my remaining souls on Combustion.
Combustion is awesome tho.
Beated the
Asylum boss by the way. Took a while and was very tense! Anyone knows what's the "warm and soft" thing the voice is asking for (I guess from inside one of the egg in the little nest in Asylum)? Tried dropping rubbish but that wasn't appreciated I guess
That's what I needed to know... thank you good sir.
So should we set a PvP level for GAFers? I want to have some fun people to fight that want to not use the glitchy stuff. I still like around level 50 as a lot of people playing the game will be around levels 40-60 most of the time.
What level were people at when they faced the Anor Lando boss? Been trying to put my summon sign down to help people with that boss but not having much success. I'm at SL40. I've placed it around the bonfire near Solaire and near the boss area.

lol that actually should have worked. It has to be specific items but that particular one works. You can drop that in there and you get something back. You just have to quit out of the game from the menu and reload and your new item should be sitting there. Make sure you actually drop it inside the nest, and only one item at a time.
Sorry if I wasn't clear... I mean optimum level for co-oping / helping other players on a boss-per-boss level. The level range you can summon is only 10% right? So when I'm fighting a certain boss I'd like to be in the main average so there is a better chance I can get a co-op buddy to help.
There seems to be a pretty wide variance. My second character is a significantly higher level than my first one was at similar points in the game and isn't having noticeably more difficulty getting summoned.
The Way of White and Warrior of Sunlight Covenants ostensibly make it easier for you to summon and be summoned for co-op, but given some of the glitches with other online aspects of the game it's a bit of an open question whether or not they correctly function.
So, finished the New Londo Ruins boss too earlier today.
Such a pushover boss, as long as you glue yourself next to one king the others won't do shit and the close one's attacks are minimal, aside from the grab attack which is devastating. Honestly, the hardest part of this battle is battling the depth perception in the abyss; it's hard to gauge how much you have left to run.
Now I'm inside the tree and trying to kill off all the crystal lizards I see on my way down, though I'm having tough luck grabbing the ones near the starting bonfire, since they always see me. Anyone have any suggestions?
I was going through that area last night before I quit... and my only solution has been to snipe them from a distance, get them hung up on the two obelisks to the left as you enter the place, and then keep shooting. I need to go buy more arrows. I'm actually kind of excited to see why people hate this zone so much. Thus far (I've killed around 8 of those T-Rex things) this place isn't so bad.

Well, disclaimer, I have Lost Izlith, Tomb of Giants, and whatever is after that left, so up until now I think my favorite boss has been G

. The reason for this is because I was not supposed to be fighting him yet, which meant I couldn't block his
spin attack
fully, and it would one shot me if it connected with my shield. Being a mele-focused character (I only have miracles for healing) this made the fight one hell of a cat and mouse fight. I'm stubborn as hell, so I just kept I running back and fought him 20 times over and over. When I finally was on the attempt that killed him, I was taunting him with each swing. "You like that you fucker! Bring it! Oh, you aren't going to hit me with that attack. How cute, a spin. Yeah that's right, you better jump away pansy!" (yes, I have terrible shit talk). After all that taunting and feeling like a complete bad ass
I felt like a complete dick after he hit 10% health. I remember backing away from him as he slowly limped towards me, feebly swinging that giant sword from side to side. The whole time I was saying "Oh you dick.... don't limp! I DIDN'T WANT TO DO THIS TO YOU! You asshole! PICK UP THAT SWORD AND FIGHT ME!" In the end, you win Sif. You win. I am the monster here, not you.
How about we talk about which boss we hate the most too? Up to this point, I think the worst boss by far is C
easless
D
ischarge
, but not because of the actual boss. It has to do with the way I love to play this game. I love using a sword and board. I love seeing a giant enemy ahead and smashing it's face in. For instance, my second favorite boss is I
ron
G
olem
because it reminds me of Tower Knight from Demon's Souls. He's just a
big dumb enemy that you stroll up to and beat the everling hell out of with your weapon while dodging attacks and baiting out big swings. That, and Iron Golem's touchdown spike is the most hilarious grab in the game, especially when he throws you off the side of the tower.
But anway, because of this, CD is a rage inducing asshole. I had heard about
the ways that I think you are "supposed" to beat him
, but I wanted to prove that I could go toe to toe with a
giant lava demon
. I spent the greater part of 2 hours trying to solo that fucker, each time not even getting him below half health. I'm convinced you have to
kill him either of the two *cheap* ways, which means he's not a boss, he's a fucking environmental puzzle. I felt so cheated. No matter how many times I would try to roll left or right, he would always one shot me somehow. In the end I cheesed him out on the big mountian you can hide behind, and felt like a pansy ass nothing the whole time. I want to be Owensboro, slayer of Magma Demons (with hilariously bad names) but instead I was Scaredy Cat Owensboro, Worlds Best Hide and Seek Player.

Died to the Four Kings on my first try because I didn't know what the heck to do.
Put on Havel's Armor set and two handed my sword and just went toe-to-toe with each one and downed one before the next came. One of the easiest fights in the game for me when I treated it like that.

Any advice on how to find the Cloranthy Ring? I know it's in the Great Hollow, but can't see to find exactly where.
Also, anyone else run into this issue? Making your way up from the bottom, I always get to this small ledge attached to the path I'm on where it's nigh impossible for me to walk onto. Coming down it works just fine. But, going up there's some weird geometry or something that acts as a barrier.
in Lost Izalith, here's what I did: there are several square-like structures out in the lava lake. What you can do is lure them toward the entrance, go inside for cover, and they'll do this butt-stomp move which makes them vulnerable for a few seconds. Take a long ranged weapon or whatever, hit it after the stomp, back away, wait until it does it again, repeat until dead.
I managed to kill 4-5 doing this, and there are a few of the mentioned structures I believe. Worked out well for me.
When you got invaded in Demon's Souls, didn't the person start out at the spawn point, no matter how far you were in? Some guy invaded me, and was on me in seconds. I was pretty deep into the level... =/
He didn't kill me in any case, because a monster got me first as I was turning to figure out WTF was coming up behind me (just as I saw the invaded message). Does he get any souls? I hope he gets absolutely nothing, because I hate him.

That ring is right near the very beginning by the first bonfire, you have to roll into a hollow tree from above.
As far as the climb back up, yeah, there's an invisible wall at one point. I found that you can actually move on thin air at that point though, so I just kindof quickly ran up the branch while standing on nothing momentarily.

I found it by jumping from branch to branch and collecting any loot I could see with my camera down.
As for that ledge, I know which one you mean. You can try rolling a bunch or running to the left of it. Yeah why would you run on empty space is what you're thinking but you won't fall.
I hate CD for much the same reason. I cheesed him a 3rd way using the stairs which was probably the hardest of the 3 ways I've heard of but it still felt lame. I probably died to him more than any other boss trying to fight him in the open with ma halberd and never even came close.
Ok, I accidentally hit R2 when I was freeing the gold armoured NPC in undead parish. Is he forever angry at me? I just caught him saying something about a reward before I struck him :/ Am I missing much?

I beat him on my first try and thought he was fairly easy, then again I fought him at SL40. Don't get me started on Sif though, SL48 and I still can't beat him.
Use lightning on the fatty. He seems to be very weak to it. You'll take chunks out of his health bar. Then when he's gone and it's a duel the fight is more manageable.
I turned my Iaito +10 into a Lightning Iaito +3 when I got to the blacksmith there and it ended up being unexpectedly perfect timing for the boss. Deliberated between that and going with the Chaos Blade, but the Furysword sounds nicer. Though it should be noted that the skinny one seems resistant to lightning, which wouldn't be surprising since he throws lightning attacks. For him I switched to another weapon.
Go look for Havel's Set in the castle as well, it can help with that fight. It's not too far from the bonfire. Huge resistances. Weighs a pretty meaty amount but if you have Havel's Ring it's all good (it's no wonder Havel the Rock needed the ring). Gives you the fat roll but even that can still be effective enough.

That's something I'm kind of liking about this game as well: Everyone has their own roadblock at something. For instance, I'm the luckiest idiot in the world for not having one problem with the archer twins in Anor Londo. Seriously, I just charged them and took them down getting hit once.
Slept in like crazy, now I have some remote work to do and then see if I have a date lined up tonight before I can dive back into this. Really want to get
Woo. Was standing there in the last area with a summon sign down waiting to do some coop when I get invaded by someone using the fog ring. What a pain in the ass that is. They were almost dead, but I couldn't see shit because they blended in with the environment since it's fucking grey everywhere.
Back to staying in spirit form - with how borked PvP is right now, there's virtually no reason to be in human form.

Me too, haha. I ran up the right side and took that archer out. Once you get in melee rage they pull their sword out to throw down, at which point you can decimate them or knock them off. And when you're in melee range of one of them, the other can't shoot you.
Unless people were just standing on that walkway instead of making sure to move forward, I don't know what the problem was. I was expecting something far worse, honestly.
... beat him 1st try on play through one.. now im on attempt 5 in NG+. Sad thing is hes stupid easy.. i just keep falling to my death because im like scrambling to get past his

Hmm I was going to turn my Iaito into lightning but I thought the armorer was after the boss.
I'm still wearing mostly my starting wanderer set except for helm and legs because I need to be fast. Guess I can try to bulk up a little. I been rolling at <25% so far the whole game
THere are places to buy these as well as plenty in Blighttown. with the giant can lead them all off the cliff at the back door or fornt also for that matter, and the pies are down below.
YOu can only trade with snuggly once per playthrough anyway right?
I agree @ Quelaag for 50 or so. I did her @ 48 I think and then grinded a bunch @ the forest and explored so I'm up to 64. I hope that isn't too high for future bosses now as I think I still have a bunch to do.

You can get to him by going up the left staircase in the grand hall before boss area. Also, are you wearing Havel's Ring? You should probably be able to wear some better armor than your starting set a <25%.
1) If I kill the lizard, but don't manage to reach it (e.g. I fall to my death), I'll lose the shards, and
2) It seems like whenever there's a clear line of sight between the player and the lizard camera-wise, the lizard senses you and runs away.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion! Where can I buy fire arrows?

Whenever people say this, it makes me think that they need to configure port forwarding on the router, or disable their firewall or something. I've only ever gotten 1 single summon failed, and if you're getting 15 in a row then somethign is just wrong with your network configuration.
THat's not true. I got the 15 in a row problem once and once only, and it has since not come back but I did absolutely nothing to change it...I play on wireless, and I assumed the high frequency of signs gettting put down and others picking them up at the gargoyles was the issue...sometimes the wireless just isn't 100% at other times for other computers, or maybe just too many people all at once online....I have never had frame rate problems without high trafffic on DeS, and I assume despite the differenct server system this is no different.
SInce that one gaf of 15 I have seen less signs, but each one I did do succeeded so I have no major issues at present.
