I don't even see the tail but the battle is over. If you do it after the battle is over is it too late? Do you have to cut
all 3 tails, or just the biggest one?
I didn't even see the tail fly off in the flash of crystals like it usually does when you cut a tail, but I did see the stump where his tail used to be with blood gushing out of it like a normal cut-off tail looks like.

It's
the middle tail-tentacle-thing that you cut off, yeah. Unlike the other ones it doesn't disappear in a flash and leave the item behind, the item is sort of embedded in the bloody end of the tail stump. Then the tail keeps bouncing around distractingly for the rest of the fight.

Heh, I'm running with a Lightning Great Scythe, Lightning Uchiatana, Fire Uchiatana and Divine Iaoto. So many weapons, so few hands >.<

I also created a Lifehunt Scythe but haven't really been using it. Not really a fan of its attack set.

Found the Great Scythe as well, not yet sure what I want to upgrade that to.

Side note, anyone know where to get the ember that lets me upgrade divine weapons past +5?
Tomb of Giants

skeleton
dudes, it's at the end of the room.

It works if you are the invader too.

Well, sure, but running away like that after invading is cowardly. If you want out, you run up to the host and do the prostration emote, stone-assisted fleeing is just poor form.

today I managed to kill
The gargoyles and the capra demon. Dark root garden is next place to go right?

Story-wise your next stop is Blighttown via the Depths, but there's some optional stuff you can do in the forest beforehand.

Yea same, I tried it out and nearly got myself killed >.< The bleed effect is insane, 50 bleed per hit and it takes 50% hp within 3 hits on an enemy. Though everytime you hit somethiing you force yourself to bleed as well.

As for the great scythe, yea it took me a while to decide too, figured lightning would be more useful but yea at +3 its already at 480 dmg. That wide arc swing would be great against any Foggers in PVP

Much appreciated, that area freaks me out so I've been avoiding it like the plague, guess I'll have to jump in and grab the ember

Awww look's like DSP has finally given up on Dark Souls. he only got to blight town, but, the entire time he spent 5 videos at the very start because he kept getting beat up by the fat men with clubs, 2 after getting killed by the wall tentacles, and 3 getting torn apart by bugs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oaRIdTLtFc

Speaking of which, how much longer after blight town? I just hit it today. The game is getting really difficult now. Curse is lame.

Defeated Quelaag and Ceaseless Discharge
he fell over and died when I was running away? LOL

Progress!

Now I'm wondering if I should join the Chaos Covenant for the Pyromancy... any suggestions? I don't want eggs on my head ;(

Its bleed damage is indeed nasty and the main selling point of that weap, but even then I think Priscilla's Dagger comes close there. Though of course I missed that one since I haven't been cutting off any boss tails. :<

its an easy cure :P and what is up with the misinformation about Chaos. Don't tell me Fireballs that spew lava isn't to your liking. You only get an egg head if you get bitten by the egg dudes, tho its necessary to get the pyro trainer to sell you some spells. Once you unlock that just cure it with the item he sells. Its like 500 souls

Yea I missed her tail too. I even started the fight by going right for the tail but ended killing her. Pretty awesome scythe fight lol :)

Is farming 30 souls to the chaos witch for that shortcut worth it? Im not a pyro, so the spell is nt worth much to me except a trophy path, but would it be worth my time?

Is it worth getting the Iaito to +15 and turning another sword into Queelag's Fury Sword instead? I have a +10 Iaito. I'm mainly a DEX/END (both at 30) build and my STR is at 24 atm so my options are somewhat limited.

I thought you get it also when
you leave the covenant?

I think the shortcut is the only way to keep certain NPCs from dying

I left via the guy in the belltower and no eggs in my head :D

Is NG+ harder? I want to go back and see some areas I skipped over, but I'd like it to be easier... hell, I might soul dupe or whatever. No interest in fighting through this game again, at least not so soon.

The mobs are harder than before but honestly if you beat the game one time already it should be pretty easy. I'm on my NG+ currently and just beat Anor Londo with out dieing much at all.

I am so tired of being in Anor Londo. Summons failing, still can't beat the boss. Been 5 days now that I'm stuck here.

With a katana you can only make the Chaos Blade, which apparently isn't very good. You need a curved blade like a Scimitar to create the Furysword.

Best idea would be to turn the +10 Iaito into a Lightning Iaito and then take a Scimitar or Falchion or whatever to +10 and make that into the Furysword.

Fog ring is bull shit. :(

As a spear user I couldn't even hit the invader. What's the requirement for the separation stone working? Once I saw that there was no way to win I tried to retreat but the item said there was no phantom to send back...
I barely do any PVP at all but the spear seems absolutely useless. It's great for PVE, but PVE isn't filled with hyper mobile enemies that spend the entire fight strafing back and forth.

I heard around the grapevine that
fire weapons
wreak havoc on them. I'll be trying with my Fury Sword later to see if that is the case :D

It has great backstab damage.

Have you tried using the shield from the moonlight butterfly, the damage it does scales with the damage of your main hand weapon. I was doing 800 damage a shot to fatboy. Fire does help too if your glove is upgraded. What level are you? I've also noticed most of the summon signs for that fight are next to the bonfire

The fatty is hugely weak to lightning; not sure about the other one, probably fire. I had created a Lightning Iaito not too long before that fight and it took Smough out quickly. I honestly found the second phase of the fight to be far more difficult than the first.

Also note with that fight that you get different rewards based on who you kill last.

Guy I summoned for that fight was using Fire based sword (not sure which) and he did great damage, outpaced my lightning spear +4.

Approaching Seath's lair, holy shit it is so intimidating to see like 10 bloodstains and 15 cursed bodies.

Want a slight spoiler tip?

Equip
Rare ring of sacrifice

Did it on a gut feeling and found out later I am a goddamn genius.

When I went (SL 64 i think?) there were probably 5 or 6 @ the door.

Was thinking about that actually, I put on the one that has more defense as HP got low but I'll go that way :)

Hmm, Im still 47 and am having trouble getting summoned, you think I should level a bit? (Trying to level up in the sun covenant)

OK holy shit I cannot find the moonlight butterfly. I've been running around this damn forest for like an hour. Help please?

Which area are you in, through the 20k door or the path to the right of it? You should see a few of those huge behemoths that rise from a deep slumber if you are in the right area.

Okay cool, thanks!

I have another covenant question: when you join one, does it automatically leave the other without any repercussions? I'm a mamber of Way of White (and absolutely NOTHING is happening) yet I want to join Chaos... what will happen if I accept?

I understand that they don't want helper phantoms to be over-leveled, but they should extend the range to allow lower soul level players to help out. Gear is ultimately far more significant, anyway. I cannot seem to get summoned anywhere at SL40. :( Most luck I've had is Queelag and even there it's fairly rare.

Both. I keep going alllllll around and cannot find anything. I need a damn minimap lol

edit: OK found that path to the right. THANK YOU!

Ahh ok. Hmm +5 lightning weapon or +15 standard for my 1st playthrough. Making slabs a 1 per playthrough item is harsh =\

I think the guide says you will derank one level if you leave, I'm not sure if they get mad or if you get Sin. To be safe you can just run up to the belltower to drop your covenant first. The only time I didn't do that was when I betrayed the Forest

Don't have the shield, soul level 44. Which bonfire do you mean? There are 3 in Londo.
