Is it me or Is the online not as active as Demons Souls? I see Ghosts once and awhile but i've never been summoned or invaded yet.

wow... tried to sleep, got 2 hours of good sleep then wake up because of the pain...

So I can't sleep.

And I can't play.

And I can barely type.

WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO.

maybe i'll explore by myself next time after lvling/using my souls up. Was my first time going there and saw loot and made a dash for it.

Important info regarding curse status

As some my know the crow can give you anti curse items. However this is a one time use. I repeat a ONE time use. The crow refuses the item again because it wants new shiny stuff.

Curses are pretty easily dealt with if you rang the top bell tower. There's
a guy you meet at the bottom of that tower who will sell you curse-removal items for 3000. It's the same guy who forgives your sins if you murder an NPC. Also much cheaper than the sewer merchant who sells them at 6000 a pop.

I want to summon my friend.

He is level 40, I am level 37. He is a hollow, I am not. Whenever he puts down his summon sign, I don't see it. He's defeated the boss, I haven't.

I'm reading the internet, one guy says that the probabilty of me seeing his sign is very low. Another is saying that he needs to be within 10% of my level, which he is.

GAF, please drop some science.
There's no guaranteed method of making it appear, as not all summon signs will be visible at all times. Having him leave the zone, then return and place it again might work, though.

Doctor? or as the OT would say, feed it pizza.

I think it is because there is no massive dedicated servers anymore because Namco are bitches.

Hmmm, I was getting swarmed so I was taking my time. I guess I have to get through faster.
No. You aren't doing anything wrong. When I say it took me 1 it was after I did a particular even in that area that made the elevators worked. So after I did all that, it took me 1 curse to cross the bridge, use the elevator, kill some enemies, kill some more enemies, run into the fog door, which to me took about 5 minutes.

When I first entered that area I must've used atleast 10 spread throughout lots of lives coz I died in stupid ways.

I don't think it is pretty viable to have build based around having 99 humanity unless you glitch it. This is rather messed up because I don't see that weapon scaling with Soul Level, which is how PvP is balanced.

Amir0x, was the dude you beat named An_Dante?
That's what I want to know. How you glitch it? Are you saying that a person is glitching so that he can have a humanity number of 99 or he's glitching by playing so that he never loses and keeps his humanity?
Because a couple of spells scale with humanity too. If I can farm and pump my humanity to 20+, I'd probably be unstoppable in PvP, and with every kill its going to get even more powerful, and hence even more humanity. Not saying that guy's not glitching, but it sounds like a viable strat to me.

Also just another thing about that door: it leads to a useful shortcut from Undead Burg to Darkroot Basin.

Yeah I'd already gone through it before!

Having a hard time at Sen's pad atm... Might go play in the Catacombs instead

now that's dedication.

Go to a doctor yeah dude.

Game will be here when you get back.

God why does the framerate have to be so bad? It's the only thing holding this shit back from true perfection :(

Is this the place near the graveyard?
What do you do about the regenerating skeletons?

Fuck this, I tried again against the Taurus. All I can do is die after managing to land two hits, drinking all my potions, using all my firebombs.

When I drop on him I am basically stuck and have to wiggle randomly hoping I don't get it, and then hope I can make it back up the ladder with some luck or get hit again.

And now I lost all my souls because after dying I also died against some regular mobs.

Pisses me off that I know I won't play more of a game I was looking forward to.
Can't you just summon help?

Every rose has its thorns. I'm quietly crossing my fingers for a patch that improves it across the board.

I 'kinda' did go to a doctor and she told me what I should do. Thing is I've been doing it for two days now and I'm not noticing any difference in how my finger looks. Fuck.

For some god damn reason, the framerate didn't bother me as much as I thought it would do (usually I stop playing a game if the fps affects the gameplay). I thought it was worse in Blighttown but I breezed through that place
with high poison resistance
so I didn't bother with the framerate :lol

You have to explore that area till you meet a certain guy. He will give you a key that opens a door in that area. Once you open the door, you turn a level, that does stuff, that makes the elevators work.

Quoting for new page, I would really appreciate if anyone knows the answer the summoning mystery!
You can't see everybody's sign in your game.
Apparently the players online are separated into 'rooms' so you can only interact with the dozens or hundreds of people in your 'room'. (I don't know the exact number).

So when you lay down a sign, instead of showing up in the world of hundreds of thousands of players, it will only show up for the people in your room. I know this because two of my friends who had the exact same level and the same region of the game couldn't meet up for co-op.

This is what I read/heard anyway. Apparently if you two join the same covenant (The White healing cov for eg) it might be easier to team up, but I need confirmation for this.

okay cool. i'm ready for a change of scenery!

darkroot basin is the one, right?
Basin is more dangerous and there's less to do.
Though you can catch a crystal lizard there
Darkroot garden is way more useful. The two are connected and are part of the whole main area though.

If you kill them with a

they can't reanimate.

WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO.

I'd recommend 20mg of Ambien (2 10mg tablets) for guaranteed sleep on a sedative hypnotic virgin tolerance. ...and a break from Dark Souls for 12 hours afterward.

Does anyone have a quick guide to get to the nearest bonfire in the Tomb of the Giants? This area is unbelievably cheap.

That's the first time I've ever had that feeling with the game. And I hope it's the last, because I feel like turning the damn game off.

I feel like I'm missing something embarrassingly obvious - what's the quickest way to get from the Undead Burg bonfire to the Blacksmith in Parish? Is it going through Darkroot Basin?

If you can get through that area let me know. I can't proceed there because of the fucking darkness. I wish I had the sorcery spell that lights everything up, but I'm too high a level to pump INT/FTH now.

Take the normal route (Burg to Parish to smith). Or take the tunnel to Firelink, then take the elevator to Parish.

So I've saved up 20,000 souls. I'm thinking about spending it on the Crest of Artorias which opens the sealed door in the forest (someone said it's a pretty good place to farm souls). Is it worth doing this at this moment in time, or just spending it on levels? I'm currently SL21

Using 150mg Kåvepenin twice a day + some cold shit on the finger. And I've had a 30 hour break now... and it's getting on my fucking nerves :/

Thanks a lot for the invisible cocksucker knight in the forest that you cannot fucking target, From.

P.S. Fuck you

Believe it or not, if you have the Homing Soulmass spell, it will home in on him when he's right next to you and do a lot of damage. That's how I killed all the ghosts in the forest.

Its NEVER a bad idea to open that door.
Amazing area for farming + good bosses + covenant that gives a great ring + good item for catacombs.

However, at your level, the NPCs might give you trouble. I'd recommend taking on them one at a time, luring them to the edge, then kicking them off. You definitely get returns on your investment.

God beating an invader is the most tense gaming experience I had in years.

My god the fucker invaded me while I was exploring an area that was way overpowered for me. So not only was I fighting the invader, who was using a pissant Halberd, but I was dodging the mob I had aggroed in my attempt to evade his blows. It was the most glorifying event ever when the invader went down and I had the time to pick off the 8 or so aggroed enemy pack around him. I survived with just one potion left to go.
hahaha I love invasion stories. I had so many epic fights in Demon's Souls. I can't wait to get into invading in this game.

And yes, seriously, WTF is with the framerate? You get to certain areas in the game where it has to be 10fps or less; it's a slideshow! In fact, I can't think of a console game I've ever played with such large segments at such low framerates. I'll never bitch about 20fps again.

Man I fucked up,! I used all my humanity as I was pissed off at losing it all previously giving me 5. I farmed the rats in the depths for a bit which gave me 9 humanity!

I proceeded to blighttown where I died :(

Didn't recover as when I ran back one of those clubbing monstrosities knocked me off the bridge :'(

And now I'm regretting coming here but I cant seem to find a way backwards from the 1st bonfire in Blighttown :'(

I think you do not see it because he has already defeated the boss. That is how it worked in Demon's Souls. I could be wrong but it may be a possibility.

I have that spell and it still means fuck all in progressing. I've seen a room with at least four huge skeletons, and it seems like an absolute death trap to fight them. I try skipping sections, but I have no idea if I'm going to a dead end path.

It also doesn't help that my Divine Broadsword does fuck all to the sketelons.

It's worth it because you will make those souls back in no time. I went up almost 20lvls in relatively short time.

So, I'm having a hell of a hard time right now. I'm in the beginning of the New Londo Ruins
and I can;t get past all of these ghosts. I'm currently cursed to fight them but my HP is so low that it's tough. Is there a vendor who sells Transient Curse so I can stock up? Also how long is the effect for it? My first question is, where is there a bonfire so I'm not spending so much time on an elevator? Thanks peoples.

well, I can tell you the vendor that sells transient curses is located in the shortcut between Firelink shrine/the beginning of undead burg and the lower undead burg- that little waterway with one rat in it? the gate unlocks and there's a vendor back there.

however, those things run about 4K each, and last about 5 minutes. I've got a ton of them now, but that's from going in new londo while cursed, smoking the ghosts with firebombs (so they never get near me) and picking up the transient curses as random drops.

I really wish they either kept dedicated servers, removed the hollow mechanic, or put in basic matchmaking for the online portion of the game. So far the only issues I've been having has been with the online and it looks like From/Namco went out of their way to make it as tedious as possible.

That's definitely not how it worked in Demons Souls. You could still fight bosses you'd defeated if you were a blue phantom. :)

You can get 6k souls with 45 seconds of work in that area at any level. Do it.

Rough idea how strong I should be to farm behind the 20k door in Darkroot? For example, soul level, or how much damage my weapon should be, or some kind of general guideline.

When you get the vessel:
Three doors open. One underneath Tomb/catacombs, one at anor londo and the last one...? I recognized the third from the cutscene, but couldn't remember where it was.

Hehe I know. I just went said fuck it and went Rambo. Wore the heaviest, bulkiest armor I had, wore a fire resisting ring, casted an attack buff spell. Went in, stood there like a super obese statue, he came to me, each of his hits did 30% to me and knocked me down, I'd just get up, 2-hand my weapon, do 4 quick slashes for 25%, swig estus, then go back to tanking. My spell did damage to me over time, so as soon as he fell, I forgot about my HP and I died too. XD
