rolling with 25k souls trying to get from the depths back to firelink is nervewracking as hell (had the ring of sacrifice just in case)

summoned 2 phantoms to help me clear out the depths + boss

You can get 6k souls with 45 seconds of work in that area at any level. Do it.

How? I get smashed every time I engage an enemy. What am I supposed to do? I'm a 25 Knight with a 160 damage weapon and wearing Eastern Armor and +5 shield.

wow... tried to sleep, got 2 hours of good sleep then wake up because of the pain...

So I can't sleep.

And I can't play.

And I can barely type.

WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO.

your soul is being consumed by the darkness

Come at me bros.

I need 46 strength to actually use that axe, and it has an A rank scaling with Strength. SOMEDAY!

That's definitely not how it worked in Demons Souls. You could still fight bosses you'd defeated if you were a blue phantom. :)
Maybe but everytime I tried I could only be summoned by other people in levels I had not beaten. If I had already beaten the level they would never see my souls sign. Maybe a weird glitch or something but that is why I said that.

hahaha I love invasion stories. I had so many epic fights in Demon's Souls. I can't wait to get into invading in this game.

And yes, seriously, WTF is with the framerate? You get to certain areas in the game where it has to be 10fps or less; it's a slideshow! In fact, I can't think of a console game I've ever played with such large segments at such low framerates. I'll never bitch about 20fps again.

Yeah, it's seriously ridiculous. Should have got a competent tech team to work the open world magic, this shit is absurd at times. It's a pretty serious problem too, it DOES fuck with the gameplay.

Anyway, in Demon Soul's my victory success rate vs. invaders was probably 60%, but man this time around I dunno I just felt like any moment could be my last. I was fucking freaking out when I realize how many enemies I aggroed during the fight. He got a little overexcited and started wildly swinging his Halberd toward the end giving me the prime opportunity for a final death blow. I then retreated far enough to take the 2nd to last potion I had, and went to town widdling away these fucking beasts that had surrounded me. I can't believe I survived against all of them, frankly, I had to retreat far enough back to snipe two of em dead before I could even think about getting in the fray. It was truly godly.

: you'll never win if you hide behind the rock the entire battle, you have to lure him out. Ugh.

Believe it or not, if you have the Homing Soulmass spell, it will home in on him when he's right next to you and do a lot of damage. That's how I killed all the ghosts in the forest.

I'm a knight. I have one spell and it's fireball. The real problem as a melee is that you cannot move at all or he'll back stab you because your shield will be the wrong way. If you could lock camera view without targetting or keep shield in a specific direction while moving, he'd be no sweat. I rolled away at one point and he backstabbed me directly at the end of my roll. It's good times.

Three doors open. One underneath Tomb/catacombs, one at anor londo and the last one...? I recognized the third from the cutscene, but couldn't remember where it was.
Tomb of the Giants?

Pretty deep into the Darkroot Basin and I have a lot of souls on me. I found a giant
cat that rolls straight at you at 100 MPH.
Is there a bonfire nearby here because otherwise I'll probably just turn around.

Anybody?

If you are talking about the blightown end boss then I had to do the same thing. I had to summon two phantoms to beat it. I beat all the other bosses on my own but that one was brutal.

Ash Lake is beautiful isn't it. The first time I came there I just stood there for 5 minutes admiring it, saw the hydra, said 'fuck that' and went back.

Nope, but the one at the blacksmith is close enough.

you're not going to enjoy the like first real boss

and yes i think DkS is harder than DS. I think they might have taken it too far with the actual design of some areas.

Lure them into chasing you, go to the cliffside ledge right by the stairs. They'll fall off because they're idiots.

Not exactly skillful, but I thought it was pretty fun.

no such thing as 'too far.'

I want a game so hard that only 0.2% of people could ever beat it, and I'd be part of that 0.2%.

Slayed the
Capra
demon first time. Like a boss.

Honestly the game isnt too hard, you just have to think on your toes/go in prepared for anything. Also search for shortcuts/bonfires before you step into any light/mist.

I swear anyone who would watch me play would never buy this game.

I have a question about the stuff behind the Astorias door....

I joined the covenant there not realizing that it would prevent me from continuing to farm. Now, I'd like to continue to farm, but I don't want to lose access to the covenant, and the cat said they don't give traitors a second chance, so am I fucked?

Amazing. Amazon.com is selling the guide for 13 bucks. Amazon.ca has it out of stock, and bookdepository.uk never shipped my order and says the book never came out. Fantastic.

you really are doing it wrong, somehow. Taurus is so easy it hurts, it's unfortunate you got snagged on him before the real challenge begins.

I haven't been invaded yet in Dark Souls, but in DeS I always hated when a skilled magic user would just wuss spam/roll my melee guy instead of going toe-to-toe with me. If that happened usually always lost, one-on-one I usually won 80% unless there was some level-based clusterfuck involved. And I've never lost to an invader on my post lvl-100 chars. Sadly I've only been an invader I think twice and got owned badly both times...

No, it's not too hard. But the actual design of some of the areas is a bit unfair...like areas that are incredibly restrictive or run at such low framerates!

Hahahahahahaha hilarious.

So yeah, I'm in
blighttown
and I stop in the middle of an area cleared out by enemies. I figure i'd set the controller down and charge it while tending to my pizza, thinking I was safe.So i have my back to the tv and controller and all of a sudden the controller starts rumbling like crazy and falls off and I turn around am like WTF! Turns out I was invaded and killed while AFK. I had completely forgotten I was in human form D:

I can't even be mad, I was laughing my ass off. No respite for anyone in Dark Souls!

Question

What level should you be arounf for Sen's Fortress? I am level 30 something and I barely do any damage to the enemies.

I ordered the guide when it was out of stock and full price and Amazon cuts the price in half right after they ship it to me and charge me full price? WTF :(

I want to summon my friend.

He is level 40, I am level 37. He is a hollow, I am not. Whenever he puts down his summon sign, I don't see it. He's defeated the boss, I haven't.

I'm reading the internet, one guy says that the probabilty of me seeing his sign is very low. Another is saying that he needs to be within 10% of my level, which he is.

GAF, please drop some science.
it's the crappy p2p system

Yeah, I don't know what to do about this. I e-mailed amazon.ca and they said that their supplier is unable to tell them when they expect to have more in stock. I ordered the guide on October 2nd and it never said it was out of stock, so they upgraded my order to express shipping with no shipping charge for the inconvenience. Still, though, what if they never get it? I really need that guide

How book of the guilty work then?

I can't say as I've not joined the relevant covenant, though from looking at people online it looks like people have some trouble connecting. It's real random to me, I was getting summoned constantly on hour ago in one spot, now I've been waiting for 20 minutes to no avail.

He must have died at Taurus like a dozen times or something already. If I was him I'd farm souls right before him and then level up a bunch to make it easier, it seems he's just really bad at climbing ladders under pressure or something.

Yeah, I love the music here too. I don't really know how to effectively fight the hydra but I straight up bolted past those mushroom men so I don't want to go back!

Even the regular mobs are now killing me.

It's impossible to make the difference between an enemy losing their balance, or preparing a powerful attack. If it is losing balance, I should attack, but no, it was preparing an attack, so we both hit at the same time and lose health.

Just bought the guide!

You can kill that dude with almost no effort if you don't care about doing it the 'right' way.

Contact customer support, they are a great help.

Just beat Asylum Demon. He killed me the first time but I dropped on him from that ledge and finished him off quick after that. So far, so good. Framerate is terrible though, what the hell.

I also ordered on amazom, they would get stock in november, cancelled ordered from gamestop and got it the next day...

Seems like my drop is worse now in human form with 2 spare humanity. I am trying to get a sword of the knights in the parish and they were dropping stuff pretty consistently (not what I wanted unfortunately) but now that I am human they aren't dropping shit. :(
