Dark Souls PC 1080p. Confirmed, like, for real.

$40?

If you haven't played the PS3 or 360 version, and have been holding out for whatever reason, this is a damn steal.

I bought this game on Day 1 and I still pick it up at least a few days of every month.

That's kind of how I feel. After watching a few of the Giant Bomb playthroughs, I just want to play this game, GFWL or no. $40 seems like a perfectly fair price, especially with the new content.

The only thing stopping me from preordering from Steam right now is the potential of some kind of boxed collectors edition. This is the kind of game that I'd buy in a physical copy if I could get a nice art book or something.

Well, I have something for you

Europe only, so maybe you'll have to import.

And you'd be correct in your reservations as it deleted my Arkham City save as well. Beware of any sort of internet outage while playing a GFW game (single player included).

I have never lost a save with a GFWL game, but I have heard of it enough times to be very concerned. It is one thing to lose a B:AC save (which could account for a large time investment), but it is something entirely different to lose a DS save. I honestly think I would probably just give up gaming for a while if that happens.

I love DS on the PS3 and want to support it on PC, but I am quite conflicted at the moment.

Hopefully FROM/Namco got the message and will stay away from the dead garbage that is GFWL when they start developing Dark Souls 2 (or whatever they wanna call it).

Well you might get a shitonic port since PC port got some serious issues running on low res on a high end PC with GTX6xx at E3.

And we also have people who played a newer build on lower end hardware but got nearly perfect performance. Let's save the negativity for August, please.

WTF??? Australia can buy this but it's region locked in Japan ???!!!

>:(
You know, I just checked the languages before this post, and noticed Japanese was conveniently absent. I wonder how they handle differing publishers for regions? Because I'd love to see stuff like this purchasable in Japan, even at a stupid price, just so Steam can catch on there about as well as it possibly can.

YEah im going to double dip on this. Loved it on PS3 (over 100 hours), going to play the crap out of it on PC.

Anyone want to help me beat Ornstein and Smough... hate them so much that I love them.

So there won't be a retail version in the US? And is this the first PC game that requires a 3.0 ghz processor?

Oh shit! We got a glimpse of artorias at the end of that trailer!

I already preordered the physical version. Can't wait!

Yeah, and it could also send your credit card numbers to Namco and format your hard drives! I'd avoid it at all costs.

Am I the only one who's going to buy the DLC on PS3 first so I can play the DLC with my character then buy the PC version to start a new character ?

I should have been more specific; Will it have activation limits being a GFWL game?

It is not specific right now, but if it is using SSA DRM, then its the game tied to your GFWL account with unlimited installation as long as you are logged in the associated account.

Hopefully thats the one they go with.

I REALLY want to revisit this, but my 360 died so I can't play it. I've thought about picking it up for PS3...but I am going to get it for PC, so that would be a literal triple-dip. But it needs to COME OUT.

I hope so. I love extra 3rd party stuff, it is so cool.

This is one of those times, where I really don't care to buy at launch, but I will do so just to help the initial launch numbers look good.

Anyone know if this is the first PC game that requires a 3.0Ghz processor as a minimum?

GHz ratings haven't meant much in a long time because of all the different levels of efficiency that you see in modern CPUs. In this case, they're asking for 3.0 GHz on dual core chips from 2008/2009, but realistically you can run it on something newer with a lower clock rate.

So a 2007 Quad Core at 2.4GHz...

Maybe not. For frequency intensive games the Q6600 is getting fair long in the tooth. A decent overclock would benefit it significantly.

For Dark Souls. Seriously? The damn thing runs Crysis 2 at max settings respectably. If it chugs on Dark Souls that will be purely the fault of the port.

A straight 360 port i think, still buying it because i'm a fiend. After you play Dark Souls you spot a lot of things in games that .. i don't want to say piss me off but give me an "itch"? so to speak. You notice animations more, how lackluster the few bosses we see in today's games are, how devs rarely test their games on hard etc etc.

While i do wish it would have been better at least more people get to experience this awesome game, it deserves all the praise it gets.Like i'm smiling to myself pretty hard thinking of any other developers that would take the risk and have involuntary pvp in the current market. It's nice to see studios who acknowledge that everything they make doesn't have to cater to every single person.Video gives some insight on that.

Well, I just got rid of my PS3 version today. Kinda regretting it, so this port better turn out good.

Fuck.
