Darksiders 2: Definitive Edition Confirmed for PS4

I hope this leads to Darksiders 3. This IP is great.

I'm really hoping there will be a Darksiders 3.

But on the other hand, seeing how they are neglecting Darksiders 1 in their remaster, it's very clear they want Darksiders 3 to be more of 2.

I'll pass, what a mediocre game after the first entry. Storywise a big 0, I didn't know what I was doing in all of those worlds from beginning to end.

The latter, minimum effort but maximum price tag I suspect.
Well DS2 is an awesome game IMHO but this remaster is useless.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. I'd love an increase in frame rate and maybe some of the content to be reworked, but I think they'll do the absolute bare minimum and chuck it out for $40.

I never finished 2, got distracted by other games but it wasn't terrible.

I'd be in for this, if only because it means Darksiders 3 might get made.

Tempted, but I don't see a reason to go back to this world a second time tbh. But I hope it sells well so we can have a sequel!

I actually hope they have redone some of the texture work for this remaster. The original game had some seriously crappy textures on PC. Running 1440p made it look real bad.

But, knowing our luck, it will be a hastily recompiled PC version with all the DLC piled on top. Sigh.

Deathinitive Edition is an amazing title. Judging by the reactions in this thread, I can see who has good taste.

It's me. I have good taste.

If it's cheap enough I'll grab it (provided its on X1) but it really should be a collection of both games and not just the sequel.

Darksiders is one of my favourite IPs but please do not release at $70 here in Canada... I really want to support you but be logical and not greedy... please.

Jesus. So I guess the goal is to re-release every single game from last gen, eh? *sigh* Yeah, yeah...I know..."don't like it, don't buy it". I agree. But I think its safe to say "HD Remasters/Definitive Editions" have officially jumped the shark. It's difficult to view this as anything other than a lame cash-in.

I didn't like these games at all.

Also, the graphics make me feel kind of sick. I think it had a bad framerate and terrible aliasing.

Hm, I didn't think there was demand for this
There really isn't.

But Darksiders II is another in a long list of games that were semi-popular during the last generations - and more specifically, had a proper PC release. Re-releasing the PC version as a PS4/Xbox One game is real simple thanks to good middleware tools.

I'm not opposed to the port (I never finished the game on 360, ran into a bunch of crashes during the Earth segment), but if USFIV, Saints Row IV Re-Elected, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition and a number of other ports are anything to go by - good god it all depends on who's porting it.

I was a big fan of the first game but when I wanted to play the sequel I was sick and not in the mood for the puzzle room after puzzle room setup I encountered, so I dropped the game and never returned to it. This makes picking it up again really tempting so I'll probably bite.

Fantastic game, one of my goats. It has a genuine and unusual '80s fantasy movie style, fitting really neatly into the middle of a lot of great archetypes and eras of 3D gaming- Zelda, loot, button masher and platformer.

Hopefully there's something at E3, and it lives up to expectations.

"DEATHINITIVE," holy crap lol. I was gonna buy it anyway to try and get them to make 3, but now it's getting spot in my library just for that pun.
