Visually stunning shooter on PS2, spectacle still holds up today.
I think megaman legends 1 and 2 hold up well for a ps1 game.
Megaman Legends aged well
I honestly think The MegaMan Legends games have a great style and still look great. If you want to do a game that looks like PSONE games, MegaMan Legends is the way to go.
YEAH gonna post me some Mega Man Legends too. Two of the best visually enduring 3D PS1 games.

Think the problem with GTA4 was that it used a very heavy blur filter to make everything blurry. The saturated lighting didn't help either but that was supposedly a thing that time last gen.Gta 4. People complain it looked too gray or yellow but it still looks like an acceptable representation of NY to me.
"timeless aesthetic"
/watches a sport cars driving around normal generic city by night and normal roads.
...
ok.
Ugh. It's downright criminal that we're getting a scaled down mobile/3DS port (or is that remake?) instead of the HD remaster that the game truly deserves.
I usually prefer rereleases with support for modern features like trophies/achievements and whatnot. But this is one case where I'm really glad I held on to my PS2 copy. I really should look into how to set up a PS2 emulator to run it on my PC.
I fully endorse this post for President of the United States in 2016.I keep posting the same Ridge Racer Type 4 gifs every time a similar thread pops up, man it just looks so fucking great to this day. It just has a timeless aesthetic.

And to this day, it still has my favorite GUI design in any game. Readable, clean, unique and gorgeous. What more can you ask for?

I know this is the saturn ver but as an aside:
Anything running on model 2 is still beautiful to this day.
But I don't even think Wind Waker looks dated, unlike other games in this thread that actually do look dated, but still look fine despite that. This is pretty much gonna be Wind Waker: The Thread
I wish (sort of).I honestly feel like there is potential for a return to pre-rendered backgrounds.
The sprites in Sega's superscaler arcade games still impress me. Of course, the effect is better in motion.

And the original Virtua Racing still looks and sounds amazing to me - again, best in motion. It looks incredibly smooth and has a great sense of speed.

I wish (sort of).
Problem is when backgrounds don't scale well to higher resolutions.

Did this game always look so good, or is this a particularly flattering screen?

Unexpected picture.I love, love, love the blocky polygon look to no end.

Silpheed (SEGA CD). Totally blew me away at the time. Still pretty cool to see ships disintegrate into chunky triangles.

I really wanted to play this game as a kid simply because you could see your body when you look down. The very underrated exclusive, Breakdown(2004) for the Xbox. It's a mix between Godhand and Mirror's Edge.
You drink sodas and eat burgers as well as energy bars to replenish your health, what more do you want?
The xbox version of this game was terrible. The damn ps2 version is nearly perfect though.![]()
THE GOAT
I will accept nothing else, the game is old but the visuals havent aged a bit.
The last time I saw a game a felt like I was in a new generation visually. Not sure if this could ever be topped.
