It certainly wasn't boring.I enjoyed that one though. And I definitely didn't find it boring.

Yes, l would have preferred a bit more variety but a great game none the less.Of course if it was it wouldn't have been praised so much.

The original was around that long when you factor in side quest, could be what he’s talking aboutThat's a lot of tedium. These games don't need to be longer than 10 hours
I was gonna say that.Very good length if true. Hopefully it doesn't contain a ton of boring filler.
majority of the first game was to make things work. now they have the basics done the sequel is to improve i hope.Yes they really did a good job with the reboot. If the games 40 hours it should have more variety in it.
Good for youI have kids and I beat GoW and Death Stranding in under 30 each. Lol it’s called time management and skipping the bloated side stuff. Kingdom Hearts 3 took me longer.
More looting and more menusLess looting and no cumbersome menus this time please....
Also bring back those sex-mini games
Digital Foundry analyzing Horizon 2 said they had no idea how it was going to work on PS4 because of what they were doing on PS5 so I'm guessing GOW will be a similar situation where the PS5 version is impressive enough to stand on its own.Gotta say, this being a ps4 game has derailed my hype train.
That first back tracking walking section to Alfheim and the entire end sequence dragging out were the only examples I know of and they're both pretty bad. I just hope all the forced walking sections and loading screen hiding sections are gone. The first game has some issues with its pacing, so I hope this isn't the time for the main story, or, an indication that the game has moved towards an even heavier focus on cut-scenes that eat up the run time.
Yeah a short and dense game can be awesome. I played through God of War, Uncharted 4, Ratchet & Clank once in 20 hours or so, I likely won’t touch them again but I only have good things to say about them. Can't say I'm a fan of 40 hour games these days. I like to spend around 20 at the maximum. That being said there are exceptions to the rule and maybe this game is one of them. I do prefer the original GoW games though.
Took me longer to 100% GoW 2018, very glad to read that this one will aim for more
Yeah that completionist run from howlongtobeat seems undersold to me.
The war between the dark elves and light elves felt like a missing piece in the story. It’s heavily implied that the dark elves are justified for invading the light elves. My bet is we will get a look at Svartalfheim to get a broader sense of what was going on in Alfheim in the first game.Don't forget there's 3 realms out of the 9 that you couldn't access in the 2018 one, so maybe this is 40 hours with a heavy focus on exploring and playing in those 3 realms (Asgard, Vanaheim & Svartalfheim).
I would take a larger variety of enemies over overall play time. A good game is a good game at 5,10, 20 hours. An extra long game with the same enemy types starts to get a little annoying.Oh boy, cloned trolls here we go!
You didn't experience Death Stranding if you finished it in under 30 hours. Congrats on wasting your time and money rushing through a game.I have kids and I beat GoW and Death Stranding in under 30 each. Lol it’s called time management and skipping the bloated side stuff. Underthemayo made a great video on the how god of war was kinda ruined. I mean the new game is great, but it's missing some things that the old ones accomplishedCan't say I'm a fan of 40 hour games these days. I like to spend around 20 at the maximum. Imagine the uproar if the new god of war was only 10 hours. People around here would be saying it’s only worth like $15 or something. That's a lot of tedium. These games don't need to be longer than 10 hours
I'll be sure to give it a watch. Thanks.Underthemayo made a great video on the how god of war was kinda ruined. I mean the new game is great, but it's missing some things that the old ones accomplished
I disagree there. There is plenty of story without stopping by every single person. I think I got my money’s worth. I see this get thrown around on here. I played the scenes worth seeing. A lot of the times you would complete an objective and just forget about what you did because the game got deeper or richer. It isn’t like a book or a movie where you skip 20-30 minutes and you’re completely lost. Please don’t come at me with this. This is like telling me to go back to Skyrim or Fallout 4 and finish all the side quests. I completed the main quest and got my money’s worth. Did you do every single quest in all the games you buy? You don’t have to go to every single part of the map to say “I got my money’s worth”. I had a good time with it. I had a good time with Ghost of Tsushima and I didn’t do every single side quests. I got my money’s worth there too. Not all the side stuff makes the game better. This is borderline “you didn’t get the Platinum bro, you wasted your money”.You didn't experience Death Stranding if you finished it in under 30 hours. Congrats on wasting your time and money rushing through a game.
On topic, 40 hours is fine.
I bet you are like some parents I know who prefer to be playing that spending time with their kids.I have kids and I beat GoW and Death Stranding in under 30 each. Lol it’s called time management and skipping the bloated side stuff. Kingdom Hearts 3 took me longer.
Ok that’s a jerk commentI bet you are like some parents I know who prefer to be playing that spending time with their kids.
