Dead or Alive 5 or Tekken Tag 2? ;_;

Don't care about the competitive scene one bit. Only play fighters for the single-player mode and playing against my brother who also doesn't care about frame counts and what-not. DOA5 for me. I personally enjoy the fighter movement in the series, the unrivaled animation, and the ability to pick up and play any character without having to memorize long command chains like Tekken.

edit:TTT2 does look good as well though. I may rent that if I'm currently visiting my brother at the time it can arrive from gamefly

I think that's why I was so interested to try out DOA4. The game moved so beautifully, and the fighting looked so natural and fast. It ran like butter, and the animation was near flawless. I mean the transition from a punch into a counter still stuns me everytime. It looks so smooth and stylish.

Tekken on the other hand is not. The combat seems so clunky in comparison, with the hit sparks and whatnot.

pro players reactions to DOA5 have been anything but positive thus far.

This is categorically false unless, of course, you are reading only Grap3's posts. :P Or you're reading people who have always hated DoA and give reasons which amount to the same ones scrubs give when they say they dislike any game in which they lose consistently.

But in either case, opinions have been pretty positive. I don't know what you're reading to think otherwise.

TTT2 for the crazy amount of content you're getting for it. Harada must pull a lot of weight at namco if he managed to jam so much free content.

Where are you reading this? lol.

Why do people keep saying this? It is entirely contrary to what is actually happening.

Many people already have their negative opinions set on DOA and will just bad talk it without doing any research.

The current reactions for DOA5 have been extremely positive as the community is being listened to and having some input based on the early tournaments. Any negative complaints from early builds we're fixed and from the latest tournaments everything is looking good for the game.

Also I don't understand how DOA still has the stigma as a fan service game, honestly I think Soul Caliber easily surpassed it after Soul Caliber 4 and their ridiculous outfits.

Nah. Ill gladly eat and play a good game. Instead of going hungry and owning a bad game.

Bad how? Care to explain what makes it bad? Or are you just spewing rancid shit out your ass out of bias.

Playing style I don't like =/= bad game

There has been hardly anything worth being called a bad game since all the new fighters came out.

Based Harada wants it to die.

I have no factual evidence to base this theory on, but ever since SC2 kicked the shit out of T4, there's always been one thing or another that fucks over every SC game.

SC5 was so goooood.

I would kill puppies for a super version with Zas, Taki, Talim, a kicking Korean.

How did they get rid of Zas? He was one of the most unique characters evah.

Naw, dawg.

It would be dishonest to make players actually pay for reskinned characters and suicidal after SFxTk negative reception. They should be paying me to listen to snoop dog in his piss yellow stage. The bikini's being free was a nice touch.

Tekken all the way. Mostly for the community. We're a bunch of crazies but we're loyalists and will go out of our way to help others. MarkMan actually bought/imported a Tekken board and had a setup in his garage. FilthieRich, former Evo top 8, is now the community manager.

DOA's community is garbage. Google Tom Brady and DOA and see why I have nothing but contempt for the "high level" players. Your veteran players are supposed to be your foundation for the community.

Is Law top tier in TTT2? I'll be pissed if he is and you get to choose two Laws. :(

None of the console exclusives are "re-skins".

I haven't checked numbers but my guess would be that SC has been performing worse with every installment, and it's obviously not the arcade cash cow that Tekken is, so it gets less attention and care from the higher-ups at Namco.

DSS auto parry is gone, so no. Early impressions from Rip is that Forest Law seems weaker than Marshall too.

The DOA community seemed to be doing great at GVN this past week.

What else do you think the OP's intention was when making this thread?

To get an informed answer? They are hardly to blame for the fact that the more rabid fans of either franchise are incapable of acting like anything other than petulant children.

I am worried that since DOA after 2 was all on xbox, most of the people will buy xbox version, while I buy PS3 version. I hope there is good amount of people in PS3 version.

SC4 did far, far better than SC3.

I don't know how SC5 did, but I hope they weren't expecting much with the truncated development schedule and release of the title. It's obvious it was rushed.

Are there vids of Forest Law out other than the random combo vids?

How's the T6 community on Xbox? Probably a comparable situation.

I think most fighters have been pretty evenly split between the HD twins.

I doubt that. Harada doesn't hate money.

SFxTK screwed over SC5 by forcing it out early.

They need to take their time with SC, or let someone else do it right.

As for Tekken, I flat out don't like some things about that game- it feels like it's more react then read in some aspects.

Not a lot of people have brought up the online aspects for the games in this thread. DOA4's online features still have not been matched by any fighting game this generation and DOA5 will probably add even more.

Online features, maybe, but online gameplay has. If TTT2 has SC5 quality online, it is going to be the business. DoA4 is certainly acceptable, but standards have changed in 7 years, and it's anybody's guess right now as to how the game will play online.

I'm talking strictly features. Winners stays, loser stays, kumite, survival, team, tag, co-op tag, up to 16 player lobbies, 3D lobbies, and adjustable health, time and rounds.

Have Team Ninja talked about the online play for 5 yet? I'm kind of afraid its not going to be as awesome as DoA4.
