5 is where the game went right. 3 was a mistake and 4 was shitted on by Itagaki after somebody beat his ass Ayane.

The game really doesn't look fun at all...
DoA4 was busted as hell. DoA3(.1) though was the gold standard for the series up to that point. The US kinda got shafted with what basically amounted to a beta version of the game though (that Hayate cartwheel was hilarious).
5 plays the best, but has the worst presentation imo (outside of the improved character models). The story stuff was pretty dire compared with the previous entries (especially in comparison to DoA3's endings), and the music was so bad I play it with the music from previous games instead. But yea, the gameplay is the most solid its ever been.
I'm not sure why I'm saying all this in a DOAX3 thread though, heh.

Because you are the DOA master. I've only played 3 and 5 and 3's presentation as you've stated is far better. 5's ace in the hole is the combat, unfortunately it doesn't get the spotlight as other "protuberances" steal it.

Nice!! I was going to pre-order through play-asia Fortune Edition at $95.99 CAN (lol at the Saikyou Package Canadian price of $463.01). Then someone posted the ricedigital pre-order Fortune at $96.97 CAN with shipping. Another was the HMV Japan which is around the same cost. These three sites go through Canadian customs of course, so duty fees and such (Maybe not even allowed into Canada lol).
With an actual Canadian site getting a pre-order is damn good. If it's under $100.00 for the Fortune edition I'll be picking it up. Hopefully maybe the other editons might be somewhat cheaper.

Wasn't hit a single time (IIRC) in my 10 years of using them. I usually go for the cheapest shipping which takes ~2 weeks and they declare everything as $15 CAD, even bigger LEs that ship in larger packages. They're awesome.
It's the main reason I'll use them, I had to get a Senran Kagura game through German customs once and it wasn't fun, with our youth protection laws being what they are. This would probably be worse lol
If you go for fast courier shipping it'll probably be different though, but I have no experience with that.

Nah they only have very little JP/Asia stuff. You'll need HK PSN cards and I don't know any place that sells them but P-A
I'm sure there will be other options once the game is out and the demand skyrockets though

Doesn't mean I'd be fine with having to pay extra or make a special trip for them, though, so obviously I'll go with the least risky option.

Any idea if they will have pre-order content too? This would be faster and cheaper then Play-asia. Hopefully Play-asia allows you to cancel orders.

Hard to say. If it's a first print bonus with every game and not retailer specific it should be included.
RiceDigital ships from the UK, so you won't have to deal with customs.
I had to take my receipt to the customs office a few weeks ago, but that was probably a routine check, since another package from VGP, which was almost the exact same size and weight and had the same customs declaration, passed through 2-3 days earlier.
These checks happen, and they seem to be random (had to bring in a receipt for a P-A package once, even though that was correctly declared). So while you should be fine with VGP (I've been except for that one time), always expect that you have to pay. You're on the safe side that way.

Sooo...have people simply forgot what an utterly terrible game DoA Extreme 2 was or do they simply not care because they get to see their favorite characters in swimsuits? If so: Do they now know of the internet? Have they not noticed the arrival of stuff like the Source Film Maker?
